Matchday #2
Chelsea FC vs Aston Villa
Venue: Villa Park
Team Reports:

Chelsea- After hosting Stoke City in their season opener Scolari travels to Villa Park confidently after thrashing Premier League new boys Stoke 4-1 with a brace from Anelka. Although Scolari was very happy with his side there is going to be 3 changes to the starting eleven with Kalou replacing Malouda and Deco going out on the wing, Bridge coming in for A.Cole and Ivanovic replacing Alex. Scolari has also changed the attacking midfielders to Left/Right Forwards and Right/Left Backs to Right/Left Wing backs to have the outside backs get into the attack. Hopefully the formation works wonders and Scolari will try it for several games and possibly keep it as the starting formation.
-Cech-
Bridge--Ivanovic--Terry--Bosingwa
-Essien-
Kalou---Lampard
Deco-----Anelka-----J.Cole
Subs:
-Cudicini (GK)
-Carvolho (CB)
-Alex (CB)
-Malouda (LM)
-Obi Mikel (CM)
-Ballack (CAM)
-Benzema (ST)

Aston Villa- After a dissapointing draw to from last years League Championship winners the scoreline being 1-1. Villa's young striker Agbonlahor has been saying throughout the week Villa will be the victors today but that will be tough against an always strong Chelsea team no matter who plays. It will be a tough test for Martin O'Neill's side.
-Freidel-
-Shorey--Laursen--Cuellar--L.Young-
-A.Young--B.Barry--S. Petrov--J.Milner-
Carew---Agbonlahor

Players to Watch
Nicolas Anelka: Who else? After scoring a brace against Stoke he will be looking to get more goals and bring this Chelsea side to victory. Scolari is expecting a big performance from him after he settled in nicely to the formation, tactics, and his team-mates against Stoke. The same formation pretty much accept a little more attacking as mentioned before.

Gabriel Agbonlahor: After talking all week in the media can the 22 year old add insult to injury and score against Chelsea? We will find out. After good form against West Brom he hopes to back his words with a goal or two against Chelsea today.

London, ENGLAND:Hello football (soccer) fans I'm Andy Gray here reporting once again on Chelsea FC this time away to Villa Park will they take on a Villa side that last week had a 1-1 draw to West Brom. Let's begin the match report.

Match Report: Anelka keen to net again after brace against Stoke. Martin O'Neill's side look to Agbonlahor up top after talks all week "Gabby" would be the key part to Villa's conquest of Chelsea words from Agbonlahor himself.

1st Half:

Chelsea started attacking early on just 6 minutes in Anelka had his first glance of the goal and banged the ball off the post.

Chelsea kept finding the woodwork after several attemptlalalala the crossbar in the 26th minute of play Chelsea counter attacked with Lampard sending Anelka a through ball and again Anelka came up short whacking the ball off the post to go out of bounds.

Aston Villa were on the defensive side of things most of the half rarely getting into the attacking third with Ivanovic doing a decent job so far of shutting down Agbonlahor.

Right before the end of the first half Chelsea had another chance this time a Joe Cole cross was headed inches wide by Deco.

The whistle blew and Chelsea walked off to the locker room for half time dissapointed they could not finish with so many chances. Martin O'Neill just happy that luck appeared to be on his side for this one.

Halftime Score: Chelsea 0 Aston Villa 0

2nd Half:

The second half started out with Chelsea players passing the ball well. Aston Villa took a chance suddenly on a counter attack but Terry stopped Agbonlahor with a great clean tackle.

Chelsea again mounted an attack this time the shot wasted by Kalou.

More attacks flew at Villa's way but none found the back of the net.

Around the hour mark Chelsea was building an attack. Essien took it up the middle then passed to Lampard. Lampard took a 10 yard dribble then hit a through ball to Joe Cole who was called offsides before the ball even got to him. Scolari could be seen on the touchline yelling angrily about the call with the 4th official. It looked as if had the call not been made Cole would have scored which he did right before the whistle blew for offisides but it wouldn't count.

As luck appeared to on Villa's side for Chelsea not scoring the game entered the last 10 minutes of play.

Chelsea threw everyone into the attack which proved to be a bad decision.

Agbonlahor picked up the ball from a long Petrov clearance. Ivanovic this time decided to get very scrappy and sloppy letting "Gabby" fly past him. John Terry and Bosingwa would surely be able to handle the 22 year old right? Wrong. JT and Bosingwa got sloppy too and Agbonlahor fired into the back off the net from 12 yards out. Stealing the game in the 83rd minute.

Final Score: Aston Villa 1 Chelsea 0
Match Facts:
Chelsea-Aston Villa
16(9)-Total Shots (On Target)-5(2)
0-Bookings-0

Man of the Match
Gabriel Agbonlahor
Goals: 1
Scolari: "That youngster is a key part to Aston Villa. I am very very dissapointed though that we let him take it from us with the moment of sloppy defense letting him score. He didn't get many chances today to even shoot but when he did he did the best thing for his team which was scoring the late winner."

Matchday #3
Chelsea FC vs Tottenham Hotspur
Venue: Stamford Bridge

Team Reports:

Chelsea: After a disappointing loss to Aston Villa Scolari will be looking to get his team back on track with a win at the Bridge. For the match Scolari will go back to the starting eleven he used against Stoke City but the same formation as the Villa game. Also it was reported that the medical staff cleared Drogba to play today from his knee injury.
-Cech-
-A.Cole--Terry--Alex--Bosingwa-
-Essien-
-Lampard-----Deco-
Malouda-----Anelka-----J.Cole

Subs:
-Cudicini (GK)
-Carvolho (CB)
-Obi Mikel (CM)
-Ballack (CAM)
-Kalou (F)
-Benzema (ST)
-Drogba (ST)

Tottenham: Their results so far have been a 1-0 to Bolton and a 1-1 draw with West Brom. Harry Redknapp will look for a way to get around Chelsea today trying to escape the Bridge without losing.

-Gomes-
Corluka--Woodgate--King--Bale
Lennon--Huddlestone--Modric--Bentley
Bent--Pavlychenko

Match Report: Tottenham will probably be very happy to escape with a draw or even a win if they could do that after losing to Bolton and drawing with West Brom but Phil Scolari will be firing his players up after a 1-0 loss to Aston Villa where so many chances to score were missed.

1st Half:

It started off well for Chelsea and 10 minutes in they had their first goal after a great passing combination came down the wing Joe Cole then passed it off to Deco who had a superb finish.

Though Tottenham went down 1-0 early on they fought back and had a few shots though a few went wide and Cech saved 1 with ease.

Florent Malouda received a yellow card in the 20th minute for a foul on Jenas in the middle of the pitch.

In the last minute before halftime Chelsea built up play again this time receiving a corner. The corner was very badly taken and the ball found its way back to John Terry in the middle of the pitch. JT launched a lob through ball into the box with Gomes not coming to retrieve it Anelka beat Bale to it and Anelka headed it, the ball went over Gomes head hit the crossbar bounced right in front of goal for what seemed like forever then got cleared to end the half.

Halftime Score Chelsea 1 Tottenham 0

2nd Half:

Right after the restart Anelka grabbled a great goal after muscling his way through the Tottenham defense.

At the hour mark Scolari decided to make a change bringing on Drogba for Anelka.

5 minutes after Drogba came on he got a break away and scored to put Chelsea ahead 3-0.

5 minutes after that an outswinging corner from Lampard came right to Joe Cole who had a great header to get past Gomes.

With 10 minutes left in the game it was all but over for Tottenham as they lined up a corner. A deep header clearance gave Drogba a 70 yard run with the ball all the way to goal tapping the ball into the net bet Gomes.

The Spurs launched an attack on the edge of the 18 Bosingwa made a hard tackle and was sent off. It really was a mistimed tackle but Mart Atkinson didn't see it that way. Luka Modric scored on a brilliant free kick.

In the dying minutes of the game Alex recieved a yellow card in the middle of the pitch.

Final Score: Chelsea 5 Tottenham 1

Match Facts:
Chelsea-Tottenham
14(9)Shots (on target)-7(3)
3-Bookings-0
4-Corners-1
55%-Possesion-45%
73%-Passing-70%

Man of the Match:
Joe Cole
Goals: 1
Scolari: Joe Cole is the man of the match today for his great awareness of the pitch. He started off with a bang 10 minutes in passing the ball to Deco for Deco to fire home. An hour later he got a goal for himself after Lampard sent a corner his way. Someone came up to me and said Joe Cole completed 14 passes with none being intercepted. A great performance today for Joe.

Chelsea TV announced they will have an interview with Chelsea's newest signing Karim Benzema soon. Questions are welcome.

Matchday #4
Portsmouth vs Chelsea
Venue: Fratton Park

Team Reports:

Chelsea: After an 5 star performance against Tottenham Chelsea look to start off September the way the ended August. Although Chelsea spent more than 25.5 million euros or $40 million dollars Benzema hasn't appeared in a game yet well except for warming the bench that is. After working hard in practice Scolari hinted that Benzema would get playing time today coming on as a sub. Chelsea are 5th in the league with 6 points.
-Cech-
--A.Cole--Terry--Alex--Bosingwa--
-Essien-
--Lampard--Deco--
--Malouda--Anelka--J.Cole--

Subs:
-Ballack (CAM)
-Drogba (ST)
-Benzema (ST)
-Cudicini (GK)
-Obi Mikel (CM)
-Carvolho (CB)
-Kalou (F)

Portsmouth: Portsmouth's record this season is not something they wanted to start off with being LLD currently in 19th with 1 point. Could Harry Redknapp turn his side around early on and get a win against a confident Chelsea side? They will be without Peter Crouch after he suffered an ankle injury in their last match.
--James--
--Johnson--Campbell--Distin--Hreidarsson
Mvuemba--Diarra--Utaka
--Kranjcar--
--Davis--Defoe--
Match Report: Scolari will want another win today to improve his record. Portsmouth will probably be on the defensive side of the ball with Chelsea coming with the same lineup as they did against Tottenham.

1st Half:

Chelsea start off attacking early earning a corner 5 minutes in. Lampard takes the corner outswinging to Anelka's head. Near post header and Chelsea are ahead 5 minutes in with a beutifal Anelka header!

For sometime the action went back and forth but Portsmouth had trouble getting near goal let alone a shot.

It took 21 odd minutes but Davis found the back of the net for Pompy as they tied it up after Defoe got nudged off the ball by Terry but the referee played advantage to Pompey.

Scolari was livid on the sideline after Terry and Alex failed to clear the ball the was let alone for Davis to pick up and score on a helpless Cech.

9 minutes later Utaka had a goal after another poor defensive display by Chelsea let him dribble through to score and put Pompey ahead of Chelsea 2-1.

In the last few minutes of the half Deco received a yellow card for a tackle in the middle of the park. Immediatly after Pompey put the ball back into play Deco won it and Diarra hit Deco with a crunching tackle a very unnecessary tackle. It seemed Deco was injured and as the half ended he limped off.

Halftime Score: Portsmouth 2 Chelsea 1

2nd Half:

A change was made at halftime with Michael Ballack coming on for the injured Deco. Michael Ballack was making his second appearance this season and the words Scolari told him were pretty clear get the players going and score.

For the first 20 minutes of the second half action was mostly in favor of Chelsea but Pompey held them back from goal.

Phil Scolari decided more changes were needed this time taking off Anelka and Malouda for Drogba and Benzema. The long awaited appearance of the up-and-coming Frenchman would add another attacking player to the nervous Chelsea team.

The changes didn't seem to change much as action went the same way. A little bit of Portsmouth then Chelsea would build something up usually ending with a cross that got cleared, an intercepted pass, or a bad cut that ended with a Pompey defender winning the ball.

As the last 10 minutes of play came around Scolari was seen on the sideline nervously pacing back and forth.

Another Chelsea build up this time resulting in Benzema inside the 18 but dribbling away from net. The Frenchman suddenly pivoted and ripped a blazing shot into the net flying past David James. Now with 6 minutes plus stoppage time could Chelsea savage more than a point and make it 3 points at Fratton Park or would Portsmouth hold on?

As the clock wound down both sides scrambled on a corner kick from Lampard they eventually was cleared by Pompey and that was it! Pompey had tied a strong Chelsea side.

Final Score: Portsmouth 2 Chelsea 2
Match Facts
Portsmouth-Chelsea
6(3)-Shots (on target)-9(6)
1-Bookings-1
1-Corners-6
40%-Possesion-60%
77%-Passing-75%
Man of the Match:
Frank Lampard
Goals: 0
Scolari: Although Frank did not score today as I would always like him to do he performed brilliantly on the pitch creating so many chances for our team. And he had the great corner to Anelka right in the beginning. My words to him- keep up the great performances!

Dissapointed after Pompey's 2nd goal.
Interview VERY soon with Karim benzema get questions in!
