Transfer Targets Australians: Robbie Middleby After many successful seasons with Sygney FC, and being named the 2006/07 player of the year, Robbie would be a prize target for any A-League club. Jade North Last seasons premiership winning captain, Jade North is a former Queensland boy and is also a fringe Australian player. Danny Invincibile ![]() Another boy from Brisbane Danny has made it at clubs Swindon and Kilmarnock, making 100+ appearances for both clubs. He also has the best name. Ever. Foreigners: Kim Jung-Woo ![]() The Korean stalwart has had major spells in the K'League. A nature with both feet he would provide the Roar with another dimention.
Robbie Fowler Among the most famous Liverpool players of recent times, he is a truly nature finisher and has taken the field for Liverpool over 200 times. He was linked to Sydney FC last season, however this year the suitors are Queensland Roar. |

![]() Roar does Australia Proud Queensland Roar: 2 vs Manchester United: 4 Three goals in six first-half minutes put the hosts in control, midfielder nani drilling in the opener. Bulgarian Berbatov then got his first goal in the competition when he clipped home before heading in from 12 yards. Reinaldo and Michael Zullo scored replies for Queensland the latter after a dreadful goalkick from keeper Edwin van der Sar. But Rooney got a goal in between to wrap it up. It was an excellent performance from the Australian side that have been rejuvenated almost beyond recognition during their short time in the Championship, and managing to score 2 goals against a "truly amazing" opposition with a team including the likes of World Player of the Year Ronaldo and other such as Rooney and Ferdinand. After the game Michael Zullo was seen to swap jersies with Cristiano Ronaldo with a large grin. Player Of The Match: Owen Hargreaves (MU) Last edited by Liverpöol; 15-11-2008 at 10:34 AM.. ![]() North off his game after call-up from agent ![]() JETS coach Gary van Egmond revealed yesterday skipper Jade North was contacted by an agent representing Queensland Roarjust hours before Newcastle's 5-0 hammering by Melbourne Victory at Telstra Dome on Friday night in a pre season game. North proceeded to produce an uncharacteristically sloppy display, raising the question of whether the match-day approach had been a distraction. Van Egmond said he sympathised with North, who was desperate to link with an overseas club before the August transfer window closed, but added that all players had to be ready to perform once they "cross that white line". "It's hard for the player," van Egmond said. "He's getting a phone call a couple of hours prior to the game against Melbourne, saying he's had an offer. "For him, that was a real glimmer of hope for him getting overseas, which he really wants to do, and the club is fully behind that . . . "You can't stop agents from ringing, but this doesn't just apply to Jade, but to all players once you cross that white line you put your hand up to play as well as you can and ensure that your performance isn't inhibited by anything. "You're representing the club and yourself, and when you come off the pitch you have to ensure you can hold your head up high because you've played as well as you possibly can." Asked whether he felt the approach might have unsettled North, van Egmond replied: "I'm sure it's not something he welcomed." North, who is with the Socceroos in The Netherlands, attracted interest from several European clubs, including Galatasaray (Turkey) and Grenoble (France), during the August transfer window. Jets management were happy to release the 26-year-old if a suitable transfer fee could be negotiated. The prospect of a loan deal might have suited Randers and North, but Jets chief executive John Tsatsimas said yesterday that there was "absolutely nothing in it for us". "All we got was a letter asking to take him on loan and buy him at the end of the season, which doesn't make sense because he'll be a free agent anyway," Tsatsimas said. "There were no numbers mentioned. Nothing. As far as the club was concerned, we wondered if they were serious." Van Egmond was hopeful that, having missed the August transfer deadline, North would now realise that he was likely to be with Newcastle for the full season, or at least most of it. The next international transfer window is not until January. "It's a tough one," van Egmond said. |

![]() North goes North for Queensland Reunion ![]() JETS captain Jade North has joined Queensland Roar just hours after speculation of a Roar agent asking him became public. The former Queenslander himself was wanted a 'change of pace' from the Jets, and believes going to his native town will help him immensly. "He is a big loss, but we'll get through" explained a sympathetic Gary van Egmond. Jade is also believed to be happy to link up with former Socceroo hard man Danny Tiatto, and the "inspirational" Craig Moore. |

![]() Roar = Chelsea? ![]() Palmer posing for now dissolved Gold Coast outfit It has been revealed today that mining moolah mongrel Clive Palmer will but out the 51% of Queensland Roar needed to make them the first independant A-League club in history. FFA Chief Ben Buckley however was quick to point out that the Roar "wont become a club that is only for the elite" and that due to constraints such as the salary cap that the Roar will not be given a ridiculous advantage. Clive Palmer has bought the club after it was found out weeks ago that both the Gold Coast and Northern Queensland teams were not going to enter the compeition as of yet. "Watch out for our marquee player" Clive warned. |

But i'm going to take a chance and play Luke DeVere in defence with them because i actually know him well (played in the Brisbane Grammar First XI together) and well i feel bad watching him on the bench (even if he is 53 or whatever) Also back when i was younger i was coached by Jade Norths adopted father. LOL when i read this back to myself it sounds bad but its true. Ask me any questiona and i can tell you the answer LOL. Well. His younger half brother (however you want to call it) is Lewis. He's 13 years old. Actually also Hyuk-Su Seo has a 5 year old son that goes to my old Primary School.... he drives a car with the Roar insignia on it. Also Matt Mckay went to both my primary and high schools. Never played with him though. ALL TRUE BTW. |
