Phil Brown Positive of top 10 Finish

In the year of 2006, Phil Brown was appointed Hull City Caretaker Manager and in January 2007 took over permanently. Phil Brown has enjoyed recent success, guiding Hull City into the Barclays Premier League, after Beating Watford (6-1 Aggregate) in the Play-Off Semi-Finals followed by a narrow 1-0 win over Bristol City in the Final, at Wembley on the 24th May 2008.

A few months later after the Play-Off's Hull City Manager, Phil Brown, looks to continue his Success into the Top Tier of English Football, despite being odds on favourites to be relegated. However optimist Phil Brown is looking to prove his critics wrong. '' I feel that the Club has enough potential to have a strong showing at this level despite teams like Chelsea having Millions to spend on Superstars. If Hull can maybye gather a few early wins and perhaps we can go on a good streak and gather some points, then i feel theres a chance of getting a top 10 finish.''

Phil Brown has questioned Hull City's lack of Young talent and during the Transfer Market is looking to bring in some young players to add to the Squads Depth. ''I do have my eye on some young players across the Market and i'm positive that if we can bring in some of these targets it will only add to our chances of succeding.''

Transfer Targets?
Will you be selling older players?
Will the players be able to cope with the physical side of the Premiership?
Will the keepers provide just as good a service as they did in the Championship?
What's the difference between the Premiership & the Championship?

Don't worry, its just the first look. Not much to look at yet, but keep at it.

Phil Brown Interview

We sent Sports Journalist, Jamie Middleton, to speak to an optimistic Phil Brown as he prepared for Hull City's Season ahead.

Jamie: Thanks Phil for taking timr out to speak with us.

Phil: Im sure it'll be very enjoyable.

Jamie: Who are you Transfer Targets?

Phil: We do have our eyes on a few players at the club. But we intend to keep that information confidential untill further notice.

Jamie: Are you looking to sell some of the older players?

Phil: This has definetely been an issue at the club recently. We do have some older players here at the club who are nearing the end of their career and the sooner we can get some new, younger players to our squad, the better.

Jamie: Will the keepers provide just as good a service as they did in the Championship?

Phil: Thats the aim. (Laughs) Last season the keepers done very well and played a huge part in bringing us up to the Premiership. At the end of the day if the Defence can keep a clean sheet the team has a huge chance to gain all three points. So yeah, Fingers crossed they do just aswell.

Jamie: What's the difference between the Premiership & the Championship?

Phil: Everything. In the Premiership alot of the top teams have Millions to spend on the best in the world and it can be quite intimidating to come up against that kind of quality. So i think thats the main difference.

Jamie: What are you plans for the season? What are your aims? Season Predictions?

Phil: Well first and foremost we'd love to stay up here in the Top tier of English football. Apart from doing well in the league the club is looking to bring in some new players and start to broaden the Squad. As for predictions i'd be happy with a top 10 finish, but we'll have to work extremly hard.

Jamie: Anyway thats it for now, Bye.

Phil: Thanks
