1-1 draw, methinks. Will it go to penalties if it is drawn, or stay as a draw?

Post Match Analysis

Werder Bremen
vs
Hull City

1ST Half

From the start Hull were on the back foot and defending deep into there half. Werder Bremen looked like a team on a mission, they looked like they wanted to destroy Hull. But Hull fought back well and made a few chances but relatively easy for the Bremen keeper to deal with. The back four of Hull looked nervy and not at all organised. Eventually Bremen made the breakthrough after sloppy defending from right-back Mendy. At the end of the first half Hull looked as though they had been beaten already and Werder Bremen were kicking themselves for not scoring more.

(Mendy's mistake cost Hull)

2ND Half

In the second half more of the same happened, Bremen still game at Hull but Mendy made up for his sloppy defending in the 1st half by making a last ditch tackle on Diego who was through no goal. Marlon King hit the bar on the 71st minute after a one who with Cousin. After that Bremen made a costly tackle which led to a free kick just outside the box.
Giovanni stepped up to take the free kick and curled one into the top right hand corner, a great goal which made the score 1-1 on the 88th minute. Full Time

(Giovanni's free Kick levelled the match)

Man of the Match

Boaz Myhill

The keeper saved numourous shots in the first half and done well in the second half. No chance at the first goal.

(Myhill saved Hull throughout the game)

Key Player Watch

Diego

Diego had a fine game, his passing was excellent and his vision was superb. His passes opened up the defence a lot.

(Diego had a brillant game)

Giovanni

Giovanni was relatively quiet until his 88th minute goal which got Hull a draw.

(Giovanni free kick saved Hull from a defeat)

Final Score

1-1

Goal Scorers

Werder Bremen

Diego

Hull City

Giovanni

Hull Transfer News

Hull city have completed the signing of both Steven Smith and Jerome Boateng. Steven Smith has signed on a 3 year deal and has been signed for 1.5 Million. Jerome Boateng has signed on a 1 year loan with an option to buy for an agreed price of 4.5 Million.

Transfer Analysis

Steven Smith

Smith became Rangers first choice left back in 2006 but since then has struggled with injury. Steven Smith has won trophys with Rangers and has won the clubs young player of the year award. Smith was part of the team that got to the last sixteen of the Uefa Champions League, so he is used to big games. Smith has struggled at Rangers lately after former Rangers Manager Paul Le Guen gave Sasa Papac the left back position and he has held onto even after Le Guen left Rangers.

Jerome Boating

Boateng started his career with Hertha Berlin and after a bust up with the manager moved to Hamburg. The 19 year old is touted to become Germanys next great Right back. During his time at Hamburg he made 31 appearences but didn't win any medals. Boateng is a regular starter for the German under 21 squad.

Other Transfer News

Rumours are starting that Andrei Arshavin might be heading to Hull after been released by his club.
