Default [Real Madrid - FC Barcelona] La Liga Matchday 2

LA LIGA

Match Day - 2

REAL MADRID vs FC BARCELONA

FC Barcelona are not high in confidence right now. They lost their first match of the season against Real Valladolid at the Camp Nou. So, an away trip to the Bernabeu to meet old rivals Real Madrid, is not going to be an easy fixture.

Barcelona have not started well, currently the lowest team of the top six in spain. Real Madrid, Villareal, Valencia, Atletico Madrid, and Sevilla. Sevilla and Valencia were the only two top six teams to gain all three points, with Atletico Madrid, Real Madrid, and Villareal tying their first match of the season.

TEAM NEWS [Real Madrid] -
Real Madrid will be hoping for a early lead over title battlers FC Barcelona. The rivalry between the undisputable top two clubs in Spain is strong, and Real Madrid have the home support. Bernd Schuster will be expecting a win.
Dangerman: Rafael Van Der Vaart

TEAM NEWS [F.C. Barcelona] - Barcelona will need a victory to pick up their slouching season... after only one match. They lost their first match at the Camp Nou against Real Valladolid, so a win at the Bernabeu could rejuvenate everybody's confidence.
Dangerman: Bojan Krkic

A match Real Madrid are most likely to win, this will probably be a very contested match, with many goals. Julian Berezovsky is going with a 3 man defense, and is going to try the I score more goals than you technique... risky business...

Real Madrid barely edge win after dubious refereeing!

Hat-trick hero Raul, celebrating Real Madrid's and his 3rd.

LA LIGA, Matchday 2

FC Barcelona [2]
Caceres sent off 14'
Thierry Henry 24', 37'

Real Madrid
3 - FC Barcelona 2

Thierry Henry gave Real Madrid a lifeline after a strange red card, but Raul scored a hattrick to take all three points from Barca at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Real Madrid beat FC Barcelona in a very exciting match today at the Santiago Bernabeu. The match was very entertaining with 5 goals, 3 yellow cards, and one straight red. The Real Madrid win will surprise many who expected Barcelona to win after going up by two goals..

Barcelona were dominating from the beginning. They had their first chance in the 6th minute, when a nice curving chip sent Bojan on goal, but Bojan froze in front of goal, and Casillas picked it up right off of Bojan's feet.

In the 14th minute, it was Real Madrid's turn to attack. Diarra passed to Rafa Van Der Vaart down the wing. Van Der Vaart started running, but Caceres was there to pull off a perfectly fine tackle. Caceres slid in, getting the ball, and then got up, passed it to Iniesta. As soon as Iniesta touched it though, the referee blew the whistle... Red Card for Caceres! The crowd goes wild, Real Madrid and Barcelona fans! They want to know what league hires such bad Referee's!!!!!!

It seems the unfair red card gave Barcelona fighting spirit. Iniesta got the ball in the middle of the park, made a one-two with Messi, and had only Cannavaro to beat, but he was unselfish, and let Henry through on goal. Henry shot the ball into the back of the net to give Barca the lead.

In the 33rd minute, Cannavaro tackled Henry, without Henry having the ball... The referee is looking right at it. Surely a red card? Wait, what is this? Yellow card? The crowd is furious. What an unfair match for Barcelona!

Even with the refereeing problems, Barcelona kept on trucking. In the 37th minute, Bojan ran at the defense, showing mad skills. He beat Pepe, Ramos, and Cannavaro, but luckily Heinze was there so save their lalalalala. Or so he thought, as Bojan passed to Henry who quickly tapped it into the net to give Barca a two goal lead.

In the 45th minute, it seemed Barcelona where going to go into halftime with a resounding lead, but Raul made sure that didn't happen. He got a cross from Van Der Vaart, that seemed to float on the air for atleast 5 seconds. He outjumped Puyol, and sent the ball past Valdes into the net, to give Real Madrid some life.

The referee blowed for the end of the first half. FC Barcelona were up 2-1 at the Santiago Bernabeu with only 10 men.

Right after the break, Real Madrid came attacking with pace and determination to get a equalizer. They did just that... Raul shot from outside the box. The shoot bent and rattled the top corner of the post, and the ball bounced into the goal. Real Madrid were back in the match.

In the 66th minute, Bernd Schuster made two substitutions to his improving side. Heinze went out for Torres, and Diarra went off for Fernando Gago.

It took 82 minutes for Raul to complete his hat-trick and for Real Madrid to take the lead. He easily went down the right hand side, beating Alves with ease, he crossed it in and Van Nistelrooy got it, but his shot was deflected... to Raul, who scored the third goal.

In the 86th minute Berezovsky tried to add some more attacking flair, he took off Henry and brought on youngster Pedro.

Match ended 3-2 in favor of Madrid, with FC Barcelona surely going to do everything they can to get that referee to never referee a match again..

Team Line Ups

FC BARCELONA
: Victor Valdes; Puyol, Milito, Caceres;
Dani Alves, Iniesta, Keita, Xavi; Messi, Bojan, Henry (Pedro 86')

REAL MADRID
: Casillas; Ramos, Cannavaro, Pepe, Heinze (Torres 66'); Rafael Van Der Vaart, Diarra (Gago 66'), Guti, Robben; Van Nistelrooy, Raul.

Attendance: 71, 533.

Yes its only matchday 2...

I just feel bad now, because it was the worst refereeing EVER.

That Caceres tackle didn't deserve a card at all, not even a free kick.

And then Cannavaro slides tackle me, when I don't have the ball, and he gets away with a yellow.

Ehhh, I'm only two matchdays in >_>,

The Valladolid match was World Class, the RM was professional >_>.

Yes I know, I plan to play what I consider easy teams on WC, and harder teams on professional.

Tough loss Julian, especially when the #$@%-ing computer cheats and hands you a red card in the 14th minute You're still only two matches in though, you'll pick it up during the rest of the season.
