Post Match Interview -
Manchester City vs Newcastle United

Newcastle United could have got all points from Manchester City when Joey Barton scored on the 73rd minute. However it was Robinho who denied that from happening after he scored a goal in the 90th minute to save Manchester City a point.

After the game, we caught up with Newcastle United's manager, Ketsbaia.

Interviewer: Good game there, but how do you feel about getting only 1 point from the game?
Ketsbaia: It would have been great to get all three points but you don't see a lot of teams coming to City of Manchester Stadium and try to nick all the points, so getting a point is already a great start to the season.

Interviewer
: The next game is against Stoke City at St.James Park, what do you think you can get from the game?
Ketsbaia: We will be trying to get 3 points of course, but they are a tough team, they are an organised team and might cause us problems to score against them.

Interviewer: Any news on Michael Owen?

Ketsbaia: Yes, he will be back for the third game of the season, I don't want to risk him for the Stoke game but he will definitely be back for the third game of the season.

Interviewer
: Is it true that Mike Ashley wants to continue his youth policy and are you doing the signings or is it Dennis Wise?

Ketsbaia: Yes, I think it is a good idea, me myself enjoy watching hungry youngsters giving 101% every game and I do believe this youth policy is the way forward for this club. About the signings, it is all signed by me, Dennis will only be scouting for players and I will make the final decision.

Interviewer
: Thanks for your time, and good point you earned today.

Ketsbaia: Thanks and no problem.

Newcastle United will face Stoke City at home for the next game of the season.

Newcastle signs Norway starlet

Havard Nortdveit - Highly rated youngster

Newcastle United continued to follow their youth policy as they sign a highly rated defender from Norway. The deal with UD Salamanca have been agreed with the fee which is believed to be 2.25 million pounds.

The Norway U-19 star will be loaned out for match experience immediately before the transfer window closes.

It has also been reported that Newcastle United will be trying to loan out all their promising youngsters and at the same time scouting for young talents.

Premier League - Match Preview
Newcastle United vs Stoke City

Barclays Premier League
Matchday 2
16/8/08
St. James Park

Kick off time: 15:00

Team News
Newcastle United's skipper will once again miss the game and the armband will be handed over to Senegal star, Habib Beye.

First Home Win?
Newcastle have yet to get their first home win under
Ketsbaia but will this be the time? Against one of the weaker side of the league, Ketsbaia will definitely be going for the win.

Will the strikers put the ball in the onion bag?
Newcastle United have scored 1 goal this season in the Premier League but it was scored by Newcastle's midfielder - Joey Barton. Craig Bellamy and Martins didn't look as sharp as they were in pre-season but hopefully this will be the time for them to shine.

Predicted Newcastle United starting eleven
Shay Given, Habib Beye, Steven Taylor, Fabricio Coloccini, Royston Drenthe, Aaron Lennon, Joey Barton, Danny Guthrie, Charles N'Zogbia, Obafemi Martins, Craig Bellamy

Subs: Steve Harper, Sebastien Bassong, Jose Enrique, Nicky Butt, Damien Duff, Jonas Gutierrez, Alan Smith

Key Players:
Stoke City - Dave Kitson - The 28 year-old has all the experience in the top flight but can he prove to be Stoke's record signing?

Newcastle United
- "Bad Boy" Barton - The midfielder definitely have improved his free-kick as he scored a couple of times in pre-season and in the match against Manchester City. Will his free-kicks affect Stoke City's keeper?

Score Prediction: 2-0
