![]() Drenthe Deal, Done and Dusted! ![]() Dutch superstar joins Newcastle United for a fee of 5.1 million pounds Drenthe has arrived at St James' Park from Spanish giants - Real Madrid for a fee that is believed to be 5.1 million pounds. Netherlands Under 21 international Drenthe has agreed a deal with Newcastle to boost Ketsbaia's attacking options down the left hand side. The Dutch superstar have told us why he decided to join the Magpies after having a successful season last year. He said "I believe I have made a good move joining Newcastle. I don't want to stay in Madrid sitting on the bench watching the likes of Marcelo doing wonders down the left hand side" "I want to play, I don't want to look back on my career when I retired and say "I played for Madrid and won a lot of trophies but never had a chance to play 30 games per season" that is not what I want" "I love playing football and I am sure I will play in Newcastle regularly" The Dutch superstar will travel to Germany to meet up with the other players to join up with them for the game against Stuttgart.

Owen - Deal or No Deal?
![]() Set to sign new contract or set to leave? Newcastle United's skipper - Michael Owen has 1 year left in his contract with Newcastle United. His time at Newcastle have been rocked by injuries but still managed to score goals. Last season, Newcastle was an inch away from relegating but it was the skipper who lead the team with goals and got out of the relegation dog-fight. Michael Owen - Who is on £110,000 a week wage to stay at St James' Park, will be looking for a big pay rise. Will Newcastle United offer a brand new heavy-weight contract for the England international striker?

![]() Newcastle United seal Lennon transfer ![]() The 21 year-old speed demon signs a three year deal at Newcastle United Newcastle United have completed the signing of winger Aaron Lennon from Tottenham Hotspurs for a fee of £11m. Lennon, 21, who spent the 3 seasons in White Hart Lane has signed a three-year deal and becomes Ketsbaia's third signing of the summer. The England international signed a five-year contract at Tottenham Hotspurs last year but handed in a transfer request last week. Harry Redknapp admitted it was difficult to let Lennon leave, but insisted it was a move sanctioned by him. "He's a player, in an ideal world, you would not want to lose, but I just want to make it absolutely clear that at the end of the day, it was my decision to sell him," Redknapp said "We got an offer that I feel was his value. We are all aware Aaron has had a difficult time - he almost signed for them once last season and was dragged back, but he has gone to Newcastle now, so we have to move on" He added Lennon may go straight into the Newcastle side against Fiorentina.
