look for midfielders, your's are getting old. Maybe Denilson from Arsenal? Or Lincoln from Galatasaray? (He's a bit older though)

you don't really need Lucas, you need more attacking midfielders because Juninho is pretty old, and Lucas is more of a defensive midfielder. Plus Makoun is a solid defensive midfielder. Also look for some defense, buy a new CB because Cris is getting old too.

Claude Puel's Transfer Targets

OL boss Claude Puel discussed his ambitions in the transfer market with Lyon.TV earlier today. It's clear that he's in the market to buy, but who could be his latest addition to Stade de Gerland?

CHARLES N'ZOGBIA
The young frenchman has previously linked with moves to Chelsea and Arsenal in the Premier League, and Claude Puel today admitted that he was looking into the possibility of launching a bid for the flamboyant left-winger. With the future of Newcastle United currently hanging in the balance, don't be too suprised if N'Zogbia returns to his homeland somewhere in the near future.

ADRIANO
With Puel clearly eager to bolster the left hand side of his midfield, another name that was thrown into the pot was Adriano. The 23 year old Brazilian, who shares the name of a certain Internazionale striker, has already won silverware with Sevilla in the form of two back-to-back UEFA Cup titles. The question is, will he become a part of Lyon's European campaign this season?

BAFETIMBI GOMIS
Another attacking player discussed with Puel was St-Etienne forward Bafetimbi Gomis. The 22 year old speed demon is believed to be a hot prospect for the future, and the Lyon boss described him as "the ideal partner" to up the and coming Karim Benzema.

Thanks for the tips boys, I'll definitely look into bringing in some young replacements for the defence and midfield.

I was actually thinking about Lincoln myself so maybe he'll feature later in this thread...

Lyon Reveal
Pre-season Plans

Old Trafford... Just one of the stops in Lyon's pre-season tour

Olympique Lyonnais manager Claude Puel has announced that the team will be undergoing a tour of England before the big kick off this season.

The tour will include three games against some of the biggest names in the Premier League: Newcastle, Portsmouth and Manchester United.

With the opening game of the tour scheduled for the 18th of July against Portsmouth, Puel is hoping that his side will be more than a match for their English counterparts.

"Of course it will be difficult," said Puel in an exclusive Lyon.TV interview. "All of the English sides are well organised and strong. Really, what I want to achieve from this tour is an improvement to the physical side of our game."

"We know that our players are all techically gifted, that is why they play for the top team in France. But they cannot yet match the pace of sides from other countries like England, which is a disadvantage to us in European competition. Hopefully we can work on this during the tour."

You can catch all of Lyon's pre-season campaign in England live on Lyon.TV.

ps
M. Pjanic is a good player on your squad. if you check out his stats and his ratings he can be in the 90's by season 5 or 6 so you should not sell him. * just a tip*

Yeah, I kinda overlooked that with me being a mag meself lol

I could sell him but to be honest he was one of the main reasons I chose Lyon, and I'm sure there are a few people who want to see how he gets on so...
(He is a bit of a **** though haha)

Well I've just got home from playing five a side with me mates (after having to walk 5 miles to get home... don't ask lol), so I'll be putting up the Portsmouth preview now and playing it after I get some heat back into my body....

Yeah but only as a temporary measure until I manage to sign a left winger, then Govou will be on the right and I'll be moving Juninho into the middle.

He's kind of playing a Beckham role for me at the moment, due to his lack of pace

BENZEMA BAGS HAT TRICK
TO GIVE LYON WINNING START

http://i186.photobucket.com/albums/x161/ferretking9/lyon/benzema.jpg

Olympique Lyonnais began their pre-season tour of England with a wonderful 3-1 victory at Fratton Park. Manager Claude Puel described the win as "a benchmark for the campaign ahead".

Match Report:

1: Defoe knocks the ball to Crouch to kick off the game.
5: Lyon almost take the lead early into the game, after Fred plays Benzema into the box, only for his strike to be tipped over the bar by Pompey keeper David James.
6: Juninho whips his corner into front man Fred, whose headed effort is well saved low down by James.
13: GOAL! Karim Benzema is fed the ball by Sidney Govou and unleashes a powerful effort which James can only parry. Benzema coolly taps in the rebound to send the travelling support into raptures. 1-0 Lyon
14: Juninho steals the ball back straight from the restart and switches it over to Govou on the opposite flank. Govou supplies Benzema again, but this time his header is tipped wide by David James. Corner to Lyon.
21: Lyon keep the pressure on Portsmouth, with Kaboul doing well to block a fierce shot by Toulalan.
22: Play is transferred into the Lyon half by a long kick from James. Diop puts the ball into the box but a sliding clearance from Cris ensures that the danger is dealt with.
29: Fred and Benzema link up well, but the offside flag is raised just as they seem to have penetrated the Pompey back line.
32: The offside flag is raised again, but this time to rule out a Peter Crouch headed goal to the disgust of the home fans.
36: GOAL! Grosso trips Defoe to concede a free kick just to the right of the box. He then rises above a poorly positioned Cris to meet the incoming cross and equalise for Portsmouth. 1-1
41: Portsmouth seem to have been spurred on by their goal and now pile the pressure on Lyon in their search for another goal just before half time. However, a couple of good saves from Lloris between the sticks ensures that his team stay level.
45: Lyon break on the counterattack and Fred looks certain to score, but he narrowly shaves the wrong side of the post and the scores remain level as the half time whistle is blown.

HALF-TIME: Portsmouth 1 - Lyon 1

46: Lyon start second half with great intent, bombarding David James with a flurry of shots which he somehow keeps out.
52: Govou seems to have broken through on the left flank but Johnson tracks back well to dispossess him with an excellent sliding tackle.
58 (SUB): Davis and Lauren enter the fray for Portsmouth to replace team mates Kranjcar and Distin.
Meanwhile, Puel brings Kallstrom onto the left to replace Toulalan. Juninlalalalaves into CM and Govou switches to RM.
65: Benzema is looking eager to score as he tries his luck from long range, only for the shot to go sailing over the bar.
69: GOAL! Karim Benzema is the man of the moment as he applies the finishing touch to a good attacking move started by Sidney Govou. 2-1 Lyon
70 (SUB): Bodmer and Keita come on for Juninho and Govou.
73: Lyon continue to push forward in a bid to put the game beyond doubt, as striker Fred blasts the ball wide of the target.
74: Substitute Keita drives the ball low towards the bottom right hand corner of the Portsmouth goal, but James matches the effort with a stunning full stretch parry. Corner to Lyon.
75: GOAL! A low cross from Bodmer is smashed home by Benzema to seal his hat trick, and surely the result. 3-1 Lyon
79 (SUB): Harry Redknapp brings on Utaka for Defoe in a last ditch effort to rescue the game.
85: Belhadj bombs forward on the overlap and squares the ball into Utaka, who can only manage a poor looping header that goes well wide of the mark.
90+: Karim Benzema is denied a 4th goal by a superb diving save to left of David James.
