Take Over Bid Accepted

Liverpool Football Club have released a statement saying that the club has today been bought by scouse millionaires The Sykes Family. The Grandad of the family Colin Sykes, who had always dreamed of taking over the club, bought the club on Saturday and split it between the family. In total their are 5 owners. Colin (Grandad), Micheal ( Son), Andrew (Son), Bradley
(Grandson) and Daniel (Grandson) The two grandchildren are aged 15 and 12 therefore that will have no actual say in the clubs decisions, but will take over at the age of 18. Gillet and Hicks both left the stadium to the sounds of boos. They will not be missed!

Interview With Benitez

Sky Sports News:
Good to have you here Rafa

Rafa:
I'm glad to be here

Sky Sports News: Are you happy with the new owners of the club

Rafa: Yes, I think that with all that has happened, I think new owners is what the club needed

Sky Sports News: What was your reaction to the boos that Tom Hicks and George Gillet got when leaving the club

Rafa:
Well, I think that everyone is entitled to an opinion of them and the Liverpool fans was a negative one

Sky Sports News: Back to the season ahead, what are yours targets for the season

Rafa:
I think that with the current squad we can clench third place

Sky Sports News: I'm sure, that will disappoint most of your fans.

Rafa: I had not finished! With the current squad we can get third place. With the changes that I am looking to make I think that we can be a good challenge for the title

Sky Sports News:
That sound better. (Laughs) Your talking about changes, who can we expect to see at Anfield soon

Rafa:
I have a few players in mind, but I would not like to discuss them now

Sky Sports News: Thank You for your time

Rafa:
OK

Rumour Corner
Liverpool FC

Quaresma (Inter)

Silva (Valencia)

Bale (Tottenham)

Downing (Middlesbrough)

Judging by the transfer speculation it seems that Rafa Benitez is looking to sign a winger. Benitez refuses to comment on the speculation.

winger winger winger winger

Quaresma is best out of these, but a bit unrealistic as he just moved. Silva would be great, Downing good also.

Liverpool Get Off The Starting Blocks

Stoke 0-2 Liverpool

Fernando Torres (Above) Scored Two Goals To Give Liverpool The Win

1st Half: Both teams came out for the start of the season with very different aims. Stoke, to stay up and Liverpool to challenge for the title. In the first 20 mins you couldn't tell the difference between the two. Neither team could break the deadlock and Stoke held on well. Torres was presented with a glorious chance on the half an hour mark but couldn't convert it into a goal. Both teams went in at the half way point level.

2nd Half:
Disaster struck for Liverpool just after coming out for the second half. Torres went down after a Fuller tackle and didn't get back up. The phisio came on and treated Torres. Luckily for all people associated with Liverpool he came on and was fine. Close Call! Torres rejoined the game and made an immediate impact. Kuyt took on a Stoke defender and slipped the ball across the face of goal. Torres passed it into the open net and put Liverpool ahead
GOAL! Stoke got the game underway again and attacked dangerously. The Stoke attacker smashed the bar and Reina held the ball tight. Liverpool pressed and got their reward in the 63rd Minute. Another Torres goal settled the game and it was all over. GOAL! The Final Whistle sounded in the 93rd Minute. Liverpool had got of the a good start in the season and their dreams of competing for the title are Live and True!

Final Score: Stoke 0-2 Liverpool

Liverpool Scrape Win In Derby

Liverpool 2-1 Everton

Dirk Kuyt (Above) Scored The Winner For Liverpool

1st Half: The biggest game of the season got underway, with Liverpool kicking of for the first half. Immediately Everton took the ball off Torres and stormed upfield. Arteta played the ball up to Yakubu. He slotted the ball past Reina and gave Everton an immediate advantage. GOAL! Liverpool looked shattered by the opening goal. They restarted the game and attacked Everton. Torres came close but, a pretty dull half saw the teams go in with the score 1-0.

2nd Half: Liverpool walked down the tunnel determined to get an equalizer. Just as the Everton goal, it came very quickley. Kuyt played the ball to Gerrard who had a thunderbolt at goal. It smashed the cross bar and Torres mopped up the pieces. GOAL! With Liverpool back level the game was there for the taking. It was Liverpool who grabbed it in the 83rd Minute. The corner came in from Gerrard. Torres went up for it. Headed away. Kuyt came in chested, vollied GOAL! A late winner for Liverpool. The croud went exstatic as the Final Whistle sounded. Liverpool had won 2-1.

Final Score: Liverpool 2-1 Everton

One In One Failed

Liverpool have revealed that they have successfully signed Gareth Bale from Tottenham Hotspur.

Rafa had this to say:

"I think that Gareth is a hot prospect for the future and he will fit into my plans perfectly!"

Liverpool have also FAILED to sign David Silva from Valencia. It is reported that Valencia do not have enough players on their team to complete the transfer with Liverpool.

Good luck for the season! Following this thread. Currently playing as Liverpool in my second season. Signed Bale as well not sure of his potential. Amauri is fantastic as a striker, got him from Juve.
