Another F
Downing Offer Rejected

Liverpool are believed to have FAILED to sign Stewart Downing. Liverpool were reported to be interested in Downing in "The Sun" newspaper. The same newspaper today said that the offer had been rejected. The reasons for the rejected bid are unknown. Middlesbrough and Liverpool have both refused to comment on the situation.

Transfer Window Shut

The English Transfer Window shut today. Teams will now have to stick with the squads that they currently have. Many big names have moved in the window.

Here is a Transfer Round-up:

Liverpool

In

Gareth Bale

A young Left Back who will grow
into an amazing star. Liverpool have done well
to scoop him up early. They signed Bale for
an undisclosed fee.

Torres On Form As Liverpool Blow Wigan Away

Liverpool 4-1 Wigan

Torres (Above) Gets A Hatrick Against Wigan

1st Half: Torres looked dangerous from the start of the game. He had the first chance of the game in just the 3rd Minute. Bale ran up the sideline and whipped the ball in Torres met it with his head and the back of the net rustled. GOAL! Wigan took the centre just 5 Minutes after the start of the game! Liverpool still attacked, looking for another. Gerrard's long range shots went begging and Liverpool couldn't double their lead. However in the 30th Minute, Gerrard had another long range attempt, a brilliant save kept the ball out, but Torres was their again the double Liverpool's lead. GOAL! The game looked very one sided until just before half time. Valencia cut inside and squared the ball to Zaki. He finished past Reina and Wigan had a goal back. GOAL! The half time whistle went and both teams went in.

2nd Half: Wigan suddenly had a new lease of life as they came out for the second half. Zaki hit the crossbar early in the half and Heskey had a shot tipped over by Reina. Liverpool however still pressed. Kuyt missed a few chances, and then Torres ran through the defence. Went past the keeper and slipped the ball into the open net. GOAL! Surley Wigan couldn't come back from this. No they couldn't Gerrards long shots paid off as it flew past the Wigan goalkeeper and smashed in to back of the net. Gerrard ran towards the loving Liverpool fans and the game was over. GOAL! The Final Whistle sounded and Liverpool had a great win.

Final Score: Liverpool 4-1 Wigan

Liverpool Advance In Spectacular Fashion

Liverpool 5-2 Nottingham Forest

Yossi Benayoun (Above) Got His First Goal Of The Season

1st Half: The wonder of cup football. Everbody loves it. Shocks and Dissapointments are made in cup matches. Both teams came out wanting to advance. Forest were the underdogs, but they started out the better team. When Tyson ran through the Liverpool defence and slotted home in just the 2nd Minute. Anfield was stunned. GOAL! Liverpool got the game started again and looked for an equalizer. That equalizer came in the 7th Minute. Just 5 Mins after the first goal. Torres showed Forest how it was done. He skipped through the defence and his shot rocketed of the post and into the back of the net. GOAL! With the shock of the first goal out of their system Liverpool went on looking for a goal to put them ahead. With his first touch of the season for Liverpool David N'Gog put Liverpool ahead. A clever one two with Torres put him through on goal. He calmly finished. GOAL! Just as Liverpool got over the goal. Disaster. Gareth Bale went down after a hard tackle. He didn't get back up. He was stretchered of the field and replaced by Skrtel. Right on the half time mark Benayoun got his first goal of the season and put Liverpool in poll position to go through to the next round. GOAL!

2nd Half:
Liverpool had a scare early in the second half as the Forest captain smashed the crossbar from 30 Yards. They had another scare in the 50th Minute. Earshaw connected with a Tyson cross and got Forest a goal back. GOAL! Liverpool responded immetiatley. Torres added another to his tally and finished the game for Forest. GOAL! Just to add insult to injury. Torres netted another goal and completed his hatrick in the 90 Minute. GOAL! The Final Whistle went and Liverpool had secured a good win.

Final Score: Liverpool FC 5-2 Nottingham Forest

Great story so far. Also glad to see a fellow Liverpool take the reds on a trip! In my Liverpool season I signed David Villa and Theo Walcott just to give you a few tips. Lol.

Bale has a peak of 94 after 5 seasons ... that is with match xp though and is on the psp, bearing in mind he is 19 and 82OVR to start with.

He has been the best long term left back for 3 seasons running now lol.
