![]() Timar completes Lilywhites move as Ormerod leaves ![]() Krisztian Timar has finally completed his long-awaited move to Preston. The Plymouth Argyle defender's move to Deepdale looked on the verge of collapse after Callum Davidson joined Watford instead of Plymouth. Preston manager, Billy Davies said that the Davidson deal had no impact on the Timar deal, but Argyle were reluctant to sell Timar without another player. However, after more negotiations, a deal was completed after Preston added unsettled forward Brett Ormerod to the deal. It is understood that Preston will pay £300,000 and Ormerod for the Hungarian international. Timar told the Plymouth website "I am upset to leave the club, it has brought me into English football, and allowed me to reach the level that I am at now. I want to thank everyone connected with the club, and hope to see them do well". Billy Davies was thrilled with his new addition at the back, "It gives me more options, as we build for a promotion push, he is a solid defender, and we are thrilled he has joined us". |

![]() Finney praises Davies revolution ![]() Preston North End legend Sir Tom Finney has praised Billy Davies for the start he has made to his second spell at Deepdale, and has dubbed it the 'second revolution'. The Deepdale legend has said he wishes to see his club return to the position they once were, and believes that Davies can do that. "Every Preston fan knows about the history of the club. The first double winners and the first team to go the season unbeaten. It would be fantastic if we could return to that". Finney who is the Preston record goalscorer with 210 goals added, "I think Billy Davies can return the club to that time. A second revolution maybe". The former England international also praised the signings that had been made, "Schmeichel, Timar and Elito will all benefit the team, and they have been great so far. I think there could still be many to come". Finney is currently the club president and still watches every Preston North End game. |

![]() Davies announces surprise capture ![]() Robbie Fowler has become the latest player to join the 'second revolution' at Preston. Billy Davies announced the signing in a pre-match press conference, after journalists had asked questions about the up coming Colchester match. After the questions had finished, Davies announced to the room that he had a new signing to announce and that "they were in for a surprise". Minutes later, Robbie Fowler emerged and the cameras were out. "He was offered a pay-as-you-play deal at Blackburn, and we knew he wanted first team football regularly, so we stepped in". When asked if Fowler's salalry would increase the clubs expenditure, Davies cooly answered, "We have offered him an amount that we think it suitable". Fowler repeated what his new manager said when he was asked why he joined Preston, "I'm at the age where I need to play football regularly. I don't think I'll ever play at the top level again, and Preston were the best offer I had. I am grateful to everyone for this oppourtunity". The club shop has been overrun with requests for Fowler shirts, and the club expects to make a big profit from the shirt sales that Fowler will generate for the Lilywhites. Fowler will wear the number 9 shirt for Preston this season. |

Neil Mellor was the hero again as Preston kept up their impressive pre-season form with a 2-0 win over League One side Colchester United. The game was arranged as part of the deal that took Medy Elito to Preston, and the former Colchester player recieved a standing ovation from the Colchester game when he entered the pitch. But it was Mellor who was the star again, scoring twice, to take his pre-season tally to five goals. The first was an instinctive strike, as a shot from Elito was blocked by Chris Coyne, and the ball rolled to the inform striker, who fired the ball past Dean Gerken. Robbie Fowler made his first appearance in a Preston shirt, coming on as a 70th minute subsitute for Chris Brown, and the former Liverpool star set up Mellor, for the strikers second. The two players were at Liverpool together, but never played together on the pitch. Billy Davies was pleased with his teams performance, "It got a little scrappy and the goals weren't the greatest ever, but the thing that matters is that we got the goals to win the game". Preston face Hull at Deepdale in their next pre-season fixture. |

![]() One in, One out as Revolution continues ![]() Lee Trundle is the latest signing in the Preston 'revolution', as striker Chris Brown departed the club. Trundle has signed from Championship rivals Bristol City for £750,000, as Brown had joined Nottingham Forest for £200,000. Trundle is considered a flop by many Bristol City fans, after only netting 6 times in the league last year, but Preston believe that he can work well with Neil Mellor and Robbie Fowler. Billy Davies told Sky Sports, "Neil is in superb form and Robbie will be a great signing for us. Adding Lee to the squad and we have one of the best frontlines in the league". Davies also hinted that the transfer season is over for Preston for the summer, "We've spent a lot of money so far. I am happy with the squad. The goalkeepers are great, the defence looks strong, we have a lot of midfield options, and the forwards are dangerous". However, as the summer has surprised many fans and pundits alike, don't hold Billy Davies to his words. |
