ROONEY RUNS RAMPANT OVER 'BORING' BORO

Middlesborough 1-4 Manchester United
Tuncay Rooney (3)
Digard (OG)
Manchester United began their title defence in great style today over Middlesborough. The Boro were accused of playing 'boring' football by Manchester United Manager, David Tubb. "I think that Middlesborough came to this match wanting a draw, they hardly pushed forward, and i would hate to be supporting that team." The statement annoyed Boro goal-scorer Tuncay. "I think that we played a good game, we just got unlucky a few times in defence, I think Tubb's comment was irrevelany."

The match started well for United as Rooney scored in the 14th minute thanks to Anderson through-ball, that left rooney 1 on 1 with Boro 'keeper Brad Jones. Rooney converted, much to the dismay of Boro supporters. But just 10 minutes later, Tuncay went through the United Defence thanks to a Stuart Downing cross, that left Edwin Van Der Sar at the wrong post, a simple tap-in for Tuncay.

But it got worse for Middlesborough, just 60 seconds before the half-time interval. Anderson drew Jones out and lobbed the ball into the back of the net, with a bit off help from Digard, who clumsly headed the ball, before falling over. At half-time Nani was substituted for Ryan Giggs.

The effect was immediate, Nani made a long run before crossing the ball into Rooney, who gently used his head to place in bottom right corner in the 48th minute. Rio Ferdinand was yellow carded just after, but nothing could stop the United side who were 3-1 up. After a 66th minute double substitution (Brown & Bale IN, Ferdinand & Evra OUT), United completly monopolised possesion, with their final break-through coming in the 86th minute, when a long lob by Owen Hargreaves found Rooney's right boot and the ball was slotted home into the bottom left-hand corner. At full time, the Middlesborough players were spent, United won the game because off their brilliant off the ball runs.

VILLA VICTORIOUS!!!

Manchester United 1-2 Aston Villa
Rooney Carew
. Agbonlahor
New Manchester United Manager, David Tubb, suffered his first defeat since taking over the reins at United. 70,000+ United fans were not happy that their first defeat of the season was also the first home game of the season.

The game started well for Aston Villa, in the 4th minute Ashley Young had a 35m strike that just brushed the upright. In the 17th minute Wes Brown, playing for the injured Vidic, picked up a yellow for his tackle from behind on Agbonlahor. The free-kick bounced off the cross-bar and landed at John Carew's feet who placed it through 5 other players to score.

Just after the restart, there was a goalmouth scramble, the result being a corner. The corner was played short and then onto the edge of the 18-yard box. Gareth Barry played the ball to Agbonlahor, who was clearly off-side, Agbonlahor scored, much to the dismay of the United faithful.

On the half-hour, Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo combined to put Rooney in a 1 on 1 position, but Rooney was judged to be off-side. Rooney was judged off-side twice more before the half-time interval.

At half time Mrlon Harewood came on for goal-scorer John Carew. The second half was incredibly frustrating for United as Villa were happy to play lots of players behind the ball. Nani came in for new signing Hatem Ben Arfa in the 60th minute, but it was obvious united could to nothing to stop Villa's monopolization of possesion. However, in the 88th minute Wayne Rooney got a consilation goal, ending the match at 2-1 to Villa, who were simply the better team and could have scored more.

im really happy with Giovinco, from Juve

he is like 166cm and 62kg, but hes real fast, he can play wing, striker or even CAM

it was kind of him or bojan, but he was on sale so he was only $15M which is good

I just shifted a bit on this MM with the sale of Carrick, Possebon, Manucho and Rafael.

Those players you sold are pretty much who we wanted to see as we all know that ROnaldo and Roney etc are already going to shine. Thats why you are the manager to nuture the talents in your team.

ROONEY GETS FOUR
West Ham United 2-4 Manchester United
Bellamy Rooney (4)
Boa Morte
Wayne Rooney continued his brilliant start to the season yesterday scoring his 15th goal of the year in all competitions. Rooney scored four goals in the encounter which left Hammers centre-backs; Gabbidon and Upson, red-faced. But there was not much they could have done to prevent Rooney’s rampage, his speed and finish were outstanding. Rooney was used by Sir Alex Ferguson as a provider not a rampant goal-scorer which is what Tubb uses him as.
United could have gone 1-0 up within the first minute thanks to Anderson’s 30m stunner that would have been a contender for goal of the year. But in the 7th minute Rooney weaved his way through Gabbidon and Upson to set up a 1 v 1 with Hammers ‘keeper, Green. But the game changed in the next 20 minutes, West Ham dominated possession and were creating great opportunities, only to be denied by United ‘keeper Edwin Van Der Sar. In the 23rd minute Ashton took a first-time shot from the edge of the box, and it looked to be the equalizer, but only to be denied by Van Der Sar.
In the 32nd minute Rooney got his second thanks to an Anderson assist. But the game continued to turn with United left-back Patrice Evra, being shown a red card for his tackle from behind on Craig Bellamy. At half-time Ryan Giggs made way for Italian ‘Pocket Rocket’ Sebestian Giovinco’s debut. West Ham also made a substitute, with an injured Behrami coming off for Faukert. United were obviously the better team in the first half, having been up 2-0, but after the break West Ham had found something, with Craig Bellamy scoring a superb goal in the 49th minute. But Giovinco made a superb run down the left just minutes later and played a great ball to Rooney which left him 1 on 1 with Green, Rooney calmly placed it around Green to complete his hat-trick, and seemingly secure the win.
But West Ham were not down yet and they made it 3-2 in the 70th minute, when Boa Morte tapped in a cross-bar shot from Ashton. New signing Gareth Bale came on for Gary Neville, but struggled to make a impact. But Rooney secured the win in the 80th minute thanks to some individual brilliance, the goal wrapped up the game, and Wayne Rooney is now in dangerous form averaging over 2 goals a game.

WHO NEEDS 11 MEN?
Manchester United 5-3 Wigan Athletic
Rooney (2) Heskey (2)
Giovinco (2) De Ridder
Ronaldo
9-man Manchester United beat a full-strength Wigan Athletic, in an 8 goal thriller yesterday. Wayne Rooney continued his strong run of form with 2 goals. Partnering Rooney up-front was Italian ‘Pocket-Rocket’ Sebastian Giovinco, who also scored two goals. United Manager David Tubb was most pleased with the result. “I think to lose two men in the first half, and then to score four times in the second half is simply amazing, the boys really stepped up today, if we can continue with this type of football, I think that there would be no way we couldn’t win at least one trophy this season.”
Cristiano Ronaldo kicked it off for the red devils, with a half-field run in the opening 5 minutes, that ultimately lead to a corner. Wigan winger Brown picked up a yellow card in the 9th minute because of a rough tackle on Miguel Veloso. Cristiano Ronaldo took the free kick from 31m out. Ronaldo produced a perfect strike, the ball was placed powerfully into the top right hand corner.
Just 5 minutes later, Emile Heskey had a chance to equalize when he was in a 1 on 1 situation, but placed it well wide off the left post. In the 27th minute Miguel Veloso was shown his marching orders, after a ruthless tackle inside the 18-yard box. The penalty was saved by Van Der Sar, but it rebounded off the post back into the field of play, where Heskey made no mistake securing the equalizer. Just after the restart Wigan regained possession and looked like they were going to score, but Rio Ferdinand tackled Kapo harshly and was cautioned with a yellow card. In Injury time, Heskey took a shot from 30m out, and was taken out by Ferdinand late. Ferdinand wasn’t even showed a second yellow, he just got a straight red.
At half-time Ryan Giggs was substituted for Nani, and United looked a new team. Giovinco and Rooney were combining well and were unlucky not to have produced a goal. Gareth Bale came close in the 67th minute from just outside the box. Gary Neville was cautioned with a yellow just seconds later injuring Wigan player, Brown, who was substituted for Koumas. The free-kick ended up with the ball being placed at Heskey’s feet, who placed through it through the United defence to put Wigan up 2-1 with just 20 minutes left.
But then the fireworks started Giovinco set up Wayne Rooney, who made it 2 a-piece in the 73rd minute. Giovinco made it 3-2 just two minutes later thanks to a Nani assist. Giovinco doubled his tally in the 81st minute. Rooney made it 5-2 thanks to a Anderson through ball, that left Rooney 1 on 1, and as usual Rooney converted. De Ridder grabbed a consolation goal for Wigan in Injury time, but it didn’t spoil the comeback that some people are describing as ‘the comeback of the century’.
United face Luton in the Carling Cup on Tuesday.
