2 player freeze -fifa 09 xbox 360

Everytime i play 2 players with my brother offline or my brother clicks guest when playing online multiplayer the game freezes a few seconds right after kick off. Does anyone else have this problem? Does anyone know of a solution? thanks for your time and effort!

I don't have a problem with players freezing but I was missing two players all together. my two strikers were completely not on the pitch and i was playing 9 v 11. It only happened when i used Manchester City, the team i normally use. I went to check the rosters and they were all messed up. i had CBs playing Forward and midfielders playing RB two of my players went missing and their names we both "-10" and their stats were something like -23798. they were listed as GK and i was able to put one in the GK position and move Shay Given out into the field. than the game would normally freeze at the first screen change. i had to delete my rosters completely and start from scratch.

Do you or anyone else know anything about this??
Could it have to do with making too many roster changes??
I'm lost.

Any one have any ideas?

I get the same multiplayer problem!
When i wanna play with a friend i cant, no matter what game type whether that be lounge mode or just a quick match as soon as the second player moves the game freezes up and i have to turn my 360 off. I even tried getting them in half way through the match with the select sides option on the start menu and it still freezes as soon as they move.
From what i hear this isnt a console specific problem as a friend of mine has the same problem with his PS3, he even tried a brand new copy (as someone already has mentioned) with no difference. So i believe it is a ea problem because that is the only common theme running throughout all these problems. So as far as i kno the roster update hasnt been released yet with various other upgrades, just wondering if you guys there at ea could find the source of the problem and repair it with the new update. Just for interests sake my friend and i had a great time playing each other in PES2008. Incentive anyone?

you gotta delete any files you have saved pretty much. Like the squad updates and live season stuff is fine, but if you have line ups saved, formations, anything like that, it freezes. Not sure why that happens, but thats been my experience. Ive never done a manager mode or anything so I dont know if its the same case with that, but anytime i haev had lineups and strategy stuff saved, my two player has frozen.

it works but what does that mean that you're not supposed to have any formations or stuff saved? that sounds like a big problem to me. BTW does anyone know when the new squad update comes out??

I had this with 09 got the shop to give me a new disc & got it again, then with Fifa 10 & my xbox was less than a year old & the shop changed my console too. I did get an elite because they stopped making 60GB. It worked at first only to find it is exactly the same now. I have made squad changes since it last working, so that makes sense. I will try deleting them, a real pain though!
