Default I'm ready to upgrade when you are FIFA

Well I've been experiencing quite a few glitches in FIFA09 that I hope they can get right for 2010. With everything being constant, I've listed some things that I notice could be added/ fixed or improved to the overall experience.

1) Double-Headers: I've had two games on the same day which never happens professionally.

2) I have experienced my system freezing whenever I check my 'board expectations' and recently, after 3 seasons, it always freezes after my match results so I have no other option but to start over from scratch again.

3) After 3 practices every week my players are still in top form and never fatigued and I
only acquire 2 max injuries lasting more than a week and probably a max of 5 total all season. Not to mention the goalkeepers that never get injured EVER in a game and are always in top form.

4) After I play a hand full of matches in one outing the commentary completely stops.

5) Individual Morale is always low for subs and reserves no matter what.

6) After playing Manager Mode for more than 5-10 seasons I can never find any player under the age of 23 and above a mid 60 overall. It'd be nice to see the leagues automatically replenishing themselves with new talent every year so this doesn't happen.

7) Also when a team like Manchester City gets relegated or any other 3-5 star team in the EPL or any other top tier league they should have to sell some of their players. It's just very unrealistic should that happen, that they would keep their 80+ overall talent on the books. No player would want to stay anyways.

8 ) There should be more/longer clips ESPECIALLY after playing the game for a season and winning silverware. It has been repeatedly asked every year on these blogs. Lets see a lively celebration where the captain holds up a trophy and confetti is shooting in all directions. Be creative. It's so lame after all that gaming to see the players just running with each other for 5 seconds and posing for a photo. Include the subs or coaching staff... BE CREATIVE. Thats the moment every player looks forward to after winning a cup.

9) While on the subject add some clips of a manager getting frustrated/happy on the sidelines. Maybe some NEW goal celebrations and better reactions to a win or loss, again please be creative.

10) Include more international friendly matches and maybe some tournaments that players will have to attend or maybe even give us the option to letting them go or not (maybe this could affect their moral depending on our decision). Plus only 3 countries (if you count the leagues country once) play friendlies the entire year? Throw in a World Cup, Euro Cup, Copa, or Nations Cup when appropriate.. mix it up and make the manager mode more realistic and difficult with these obstacles that real managers face every season.

11) On that note, also playing one of the international teams during these clashes would be a nice perk and even managing a country would be amazing.

12) Speaking of international teams I have some suggestions:
a) I understand you may not have the rights to these teams but would it be so difficult to add a 'create your own country mode' (there is only a create your own club) and we could do it ourselves (with more than a two team maximum of course).
b) Or just add all the countries with bogus player names and unlicensed jerseys that we can edit ourselves (i.e. Holland).
c) Put some tournaments that we've heard of: Asian Cup, Copa America, Euro, Gold Cup, etc. I'd like to play as Peru not just every four years a FIFA WC game comes out.
d) Integrating Club Manager mode with an International Manager Mode would be a great addition too.

13) Having the option to practice with your whole team during manager mode (Not just the simulation currently installed) would be a nice way to learn the game and your players as you manage your team. By the way, in the '08 and '09 versions I frequently experienced a glitch with the sim practices during Manager Mode. When I picked the practices on the calendar for the season quickly, it would not appear to tell me what I was exactly choosing (def, mid, etc.) to practice.

14) The addition of some summer tournaments would be great, like the vast array of tournaments that run every pre-season like the UEFA Intertoto Cup, the World Club Cup, the World Series of Clubs in the U.S. and the tournaments played in Asia and Africa between top Euro Clubs and domestic leaders in those regions.

15) Adding a Club World Cup, Copa Libertadores/Sudamerica Cup, and AFC, CONCACAF and CAF champions league would really utilize the MLS, Mexican, Brazilian, Australian and Korean leagues. The game is really just about Europe if there's no alternative if you want to play a team in a different league if you're not in Europe in Manager Mode. By just adding a couple more teams from 'the rest of the world' you can form a makeshift tournament for each region. It'd be a start...

16) And to compliment #15; add some more 'rest of the world' teams if not more leagues entirely. This group of new teams can fill the void enabling more tournaments to easily be created. Top 2-4 in each S. American country (besides Brazil), Top 1-2 in C. America (besides Mexico), Top 1-2 in Asia & Africa. There are more than enough Brazilian and Polish teams in the game, there's no need to fill the 'rest of world' genre with the likes of these.

17) Quick Question: Is the reason behind the exclusion of some of the top Russian teams and other very good western European clubs due to licensing. If not, why are they missing?

18 ) Making it possible for another team during Manager Mode to offer you a job would be fun. Having other teams notice your accomplishments and bid for your services during season play would be quite rewarding.

19) As mentioned before in some blogs, having a price tag for a player in the transfer market reflect their accomplishments that season, i.e. top scorer, most saves, etc. would be a great addition. Supply and Demand should be controlling the market as in the real world (minus billion dollar owners with a ego premiums).

20) Updates on faces, hairstyles, shoes, jerseys, shirt sponsors, etc. would be useful and would make the game more entertaining as season after season players/teams never change during manager mode.

21) With the expansion plans of the MLS and their weird season schedule it would be nice to just add a team and not have to replace a team. Every year it seems a new team enters that league and isn't accounted for in that years FIFA, i.e. Chivas, Salt Lake, San Jose, Seattle, and this will evidently continue for a few more years it seems as the MLS grants more franchises. If FIFA can't/won't fix this, the option of adding a (custom) team to their league without having to deduct a team would fix this error.

22) Why are MLS stadiums packed for day games or for that matter any game. They can barely sell out the bottom section of those mammoth stadiums so at least make them look empty or half empty. The MLS is getting there in time but be realistic guys... And on that note, allow some rain, snow, sleet, and also some twilight and night games to the game.

23) Another glitch that seems to be ongoing is after playing a handful of games in one outing, any penalty kick for or against me will freeze my game after the player takes his shot. Also I've experienced in many of the FIFA's there is still the glitch of the wrong camera view of the opposite goal when a penalty is being taken. I think most bloggers know what I am referring to.

24) List stats from around the World during Manager Mode so that we know whats going on in different leagues and also if we decide to join a new team we will be aware if they are playing in any tournaments the next season. On that note; being able to see which teams are qualified for tournaments the following year and what division they are in when selecting a new team in Manager Mode would be helpful. Furthermore, players that have been bought that have participated in the champions league with another team should be ineligible for champions league competition with their new team. This would make the Manager Mode more realistic and would make the managers job more interesting.

25) I also miss the referees being present during game play. Although I only have a PS2, I'm not sure if they are now present in the PS3 version...

With all that being said I'd really like to know, with many of the comments from the people at FIFA like, "we've listened to a lot of the fans online and their blogs" about previous games and what the gamers would like to see in the following FIFA, why haven't they done anything about the reoccurring requests? I've never commented on these blogs, just read them maybe 5 times a year to see how many people share my thoughts. For the most part many of my ideas have been expressed on these blogs for the past few years and haven't been addressed by FIFA in their following games.

That begs me to ask, are they really reading these blogs... do those readers have any pull of what goes on in the FIFA directors room? Lack of licenses?(but there are ways around it as we've seen with the addition of an unlicensed Holland) Is the budget too small? Was there not enough space on previous counsels (PS2, XBOX, Gamecube) for the additions? Will the enhanced counsels like the PS3 give FIFA die-hard gamers hope?... if so I'd purchase one. I've had one counsel, the PS2, for over 7 years and I've only played the FIFA series in that time. I'm ready to upgrade when you are FIFA.... what's stopping you?

My FIFA10 PC wishlist:

- new gameplay:
  • 360 degree player movement
  • new shoot/pass/center/freekick sistem
  • less colisions (i don't like when referee award freekick for a simple collision)
  • more driblings (same like consoles)
  • good keper reaction
  • referee AI (when referee blows the whistle at the end of first half and the end of the match, liseman waving the flag when is offsaid)
  • real ball movement
- graphic engine:
  • goalkeper post (like Xbox 360, i'm tired of that old-gen post)
  • reworked stadiums: 3D crowds, waving flags, stadium scoreboard, electronic adboards (like PES)
  • untuked shirt (in edit mode player also)
  • armband and footband (like Xbox 360)
  • top-player star above the head (like FIFA WC 2006)
  • real pitch size
  • real ball size
  • fog and snow effect
- other improvements:
  • player celebration system (ex: press keyboard 1 for celebration one, or 2 for the second celebration, and make an option in edit player to be able to change player celebrations)
  • improved crowd chants that include regional/country and better atmosphere in the stadiums
  • Champions League (night matches) and UEFA Cup (or the new name of the cup) real names
  • improved weather control
  • new cinematic video (intro video, crowd video (when players are celebrating the goal), player celebration, referee showing yellow/red card, injury player video, substitution video, players celebrating cup/league winning video, etc.)
  • no more lags (expecially on widescreen monitors)
  • no more online bugs (when a player disconnecting)

...they are a lot of improvements to make...but i mentioned the most important ones...so please Luke Didd make sure that you put these ones in
FIFA10...thanks

Posted it for 08, but nothing happened!

Here itis for 09

I was thinking and this should be possible, instead of manager mode just being the same as last time but with improvements.

I was playing some old ps2 game last week called total club manager 2005, remember those ea manager games that were on ps2. They were ok, no-were near football manager but its selling point was you could see your team play in 3d, football manager may never have this feature.

I’m not asking for manager mode to be like the pc 'fifa manager'. its far to big and complex but I think manager mode should be like total club manager 2005 with some changes!

Add all the necessary features to it. (Fifa08 Formations, edit a formation, sponsors)
All the stats features that are in fifa 08 (there are a ridiculous amount of stats also player of he season stuff like that
Simply the training mode - implement the player growth feature in fifa08.

And there you go.

The improvements will be:

The biggest improvement will be manager mode in general will feel 100 times more ALIVE, other teams will buy and build teams for themselves, you wont be playing the SAME man united team from the 1st season in season 7.

Teams have more injuries that affect their squads, teams actually rotate their squads depending on the competition etc... So man united wont play rooney, tevez, ferdinand in the 3rd round of the league cup. If you are a small team and you play against a big team it may rest players against you.

You can see the results and stories of 6 other leagues at all levels, the champions league and uefa cup (ecc and efa) run ever season and you see all the results even if you haven't qualified.

Day to day progression, arrange as many friendlies as you want. Training camps.

More news stories, its harder to keep all your squad happy, dynamic board.

Deeper club facilities, instead of just updating your stadium manager, you have a club centre which enables you to sell more merchandise, a press room which gives you more interviews attract more sponsors, club hospital to get more medical staff making it so your players get better faster. Training pitch upgrade so your team improves their skills faster etc…….

Deeper youth team structure. Buy youth players from when they are young (13 and up), depending on how good your youth team coach is and youth scout depends on how well you can bring up players.

Add fifa08 current gen stuff like visual sim match.
Also

Final stadiums, the current gen system means that finals are played at neutral ground, which is great, BUT the champions league and uefa cup finals are held at the SAME neutral ground every year. Make it so you do a selection of stadiums that can host the final for each competition and randomise it every year.

And finally, before every season, pick 6 or more leagues to follow and track progress, IMPORTANT. If you want to leave a team at the send of the season who’s league starts in august and ends in may (winter season) and you want to go to a team who’s season starts in March/April and finishes in October/November (summer season). You should start halfway though the season at the end of June or beginning of July. Also THAT LEAGUE MUST BE SELECTED AS ONE OF THE 6 LEAGUES TO FOCUS ON AT THE START OF YOUR MANAGER MODE.

There you go manager mode should evolve just like that

Make be a pro season much better

Its the most boring thing ever i think i have done 1 season and just got bored. There needs to be more of a manager aspect I.E when you get a red card you get a message saying so. Also more press meetings so you can explain a move.

Make manage mode feel more like your a manager mode instead of just being able to choose your team and answer a few emails

record goals in clubs

youth team and better player improvement

Better injuries with more intresting clips Ie a team doctor coming on

A practice mode

and get rid of the commentary god they are always arong and are so annoying get some new ones. They have no emotions

well those are some of my ideas

Default I think I'd better post my suggestions here :-)

The 34 "problems" I experienced in FIFA09 (Xbox 360)

1. Edit team formations without saving them.
The game can allow the gamer to use an edited formation without saving it on the memory card or hard disk, because sometime we may just want to quickly try it once only. The temporary formation can be present until quiting the game.

2. More convenient substitution.
Add an option of "substitutions" to the pause menu will allow the gamer to quickly change players.

3. Fast switch the player of a free kick.
Should allow allow the gamer to easily switch the player for a free kick (not to enter the menu and xxxx). As I remember, FIFA UEFA 2008 (for PS2) is good at this point, isn't it?

4. Unchangeable free kicker.
It seems that sometimes the kicker of a free kick cannot be changed, normally at around the sides of the box.

5. Make it more notable when a player gets a card or injured.
This can be done with an eye-catching mark on that player's head or on his stamina bar when switching to him ), so that the gamer can always be aware that he/she should be more careful when using that player for sliding tackles or needs a substitution.

6. Selecting a team is a bit time-consuming.
Pro Evolution Soccer's two dimensional team selection interface seems more friendly, doesn't it?

7. Auto-tactics and auto-substitution
It would be much more helpful to add "auto-tactics" and "auto-substitute" optionsby which AI can determine marking the opponent's key player and according to stamina and abilities decide when and whom to substitute. Sometime we would just like to play an casual and non-competitive game. Why not allow AI to do those?

8. Rematch.
The game is better to allow the gamer to change his/her formations and tactics, not just simply restart the play with everything the same as the previous match.

9. Team switch after an exhibition match.
After playing an exhibition match, it seems that a gamer cannot switch to a different team quickly but have to quit to the main menu to select "exhibition" and then XXX. That is rather troublesome...

10. Auto-save and annoying prompt for saving.
Some time I'd like to save the progress manually after I create a turnament but DON'T want the game to overwrite that save file, because I want to load it in the future to REPEAT that turnament. BUT when I disable the "auto-save" option in game settings, everytime I finish a turnament match the game asks me whether to save the game or not, can EA just make it not so annoying and just let the gamer handle everything, or at least allow the gamer to turn off the prompt?

11. The one-two.
When the gamer uses the one-two, the player that passes and runs always raises his arm and point to somewhere, regardless whether the ball is intercepted or not. That seems boring, untrue and sometimes silly.

12. Weather problem.
In Manager Mode, the weather seems never to change, but always be the same as game settings in an Exhibition Match.

13. Fast free kick.
The game should enable fast free kick.

14. Goalkeeper behaviors.
The goalkeeper should be more active in saving some balls which can cause corner kicks. In FIFA09, they are a bit lazy at this point.

15. The referee.
The referee seems not so good at the time of blowing a whistle. Sometime the whistle is too late, sometime the whistles are totally unnecessary since the attackers are still holding the ball and having a good chance of scoring.

16. A Bug in player transfer.
For example, if a Chinese player is transfered to a club, he cannot be found in the China's national team squad any more. Besides, the number of players in Chinese national team is reduced to 29 players, not 30 like other national teams any more (this player and his position is missing!). This problem may also happen when a player existing in a national team but not in any league in FIFA09 is "transfered" to a club.

17. Prefered positions and abilities.
In reality, some players prefers to play on the left or the right side, but in FIFA 09, it seems that this does not make a difference.
Often in the game, a player gets a higher ability at a position which does not happen in reality.

18. Job security in manager mode.
When I used a one star team of English Cocacola League 2 to play the Manager Mode, my team encountered Arsenal (five star) in F.A. CUP. I lost by 0-1. Why my job security was still lowered? Is it a shame for my one star team to be defeated by a top Premium League team for one goal only?

19. High lights replay.
Why only 3 high lights at most are shown in the replay after a match?

20. Prefered player list for transfer.
Why not use a "prefered list" for some players the gamer is interested but cannot buy or loan immediately, so that he/she can find them quickly?

21. Top 20's.
Why not add a "top assists"? This is also important, isn't it ?

22. Saving relays.
Why doesn't the game allow to save replays on the local hard disk ?

23. Intuitive comparison between players.
A POLYGON can be used for this purpose, just like in PES and Football Manager. That helps a lot much the gamers to view the general characteristics of a player and understand what kind of player he is (dribbler like Quaresma? Attacking MF like Deco? Organizer like Pirlo? Defensive MF like Sisoko? Striker like Luca Toni or Aguero?)

24. Sequence of the values of the player stats.
I do not think it is the best way to sort those stats in alphabet. It's better to arrange them according to the players' positions, since for different positions there are relatively more important stats.

25. Captain change.
When the captain is substituted off, we cannot specify another player as the captain, why ???

26. A complete and step-by-step training mode.
The free training on the main interface is a very good idea. But what if we want to train our teamwork and defending skills, such as passing, tackling, corner kicks and indirect free kicks?

27. Recording of a whole match on local hard disk.
It sounds attractive to gamers, doesn't it?

28. Inch or CM ?
About the height of the players, if the game allow the gamer to choose his/her favorite unit, shouldn't be much better?

29. Player stats after a match.
After a match, only the stats of the "man of the match" is shown. Why not show stats for each player?

30. Rules of "shots on target"?
I found that if a player scores a goal by hitting on the pole and reflecting into the net, it is not counted as one "shots on target". Is this the correct FIFA official rule or a bug?

31. Created turnament
When a created turnaments is finished, it cannot continue to the next season, why? That also makes autosaving meanlingless, because loading the save only brings you the final result.

32. Music problem
When auto-saving the progress during play, the background music play is somehow interrupted.

33. Change of the throw-in player
Change of the throw-in player should be enbled.

34. Game speed problem
Many gamers have complained this problem, since sometimes the game is unrealistically fast. I feel roughly that if the time of my console is after 23:00 pm, the game becomes too fast. Even if I set the game speed as "slow", it won't work. I have never met with such "pingpong-like" gameplay during the day time.

Just been looking through this old thread I made and it looks like the EA team really have taken in our thoughts of what would make FIFA better. Loads of the things listed at the start have been done by the looks of it, still good ideas that haven't been put in but there's always next year. Well done everyone that contributed to making it. I wander if they actually saw this list?
