Default Pick your options for South American Leagues for FIFA 2010

PICK YOUR TOP SOUTH AMERICAN OPTION(S)!!

This is simply meant to be a reasonable "What if" question in the rare case that EA finally decides to (at least) put in a new South American league into the next FIFA game.

Reasonable Amount of Teams that EA could add for South America

Logically, EA will not add all of the South American leagues into the game. Currently, only Brazil is in the game, but there are 9 more leagues in South America that are not added (Including the complete league of Argentina).

The reasonable amount of teams that could be added to the next game goes from 1-3, with the "chances" being better for just 2 or even greater for simply 1.

Based on these reasonings, the poll will allow you to pick your top choice for the South American league you would like to see. I predict the Argentinean league to have a larger amount of votes, but if EA can still not manage to get the license of the league (as it has been failing the past several years), the other 2 voted leagues would thus replace the Argentine option.

Why Should South American Leagues be added?

Not only does it add diversity into the game, but it also provides a series of good leagues that have historically provided a series of important players for the European leagues; along with it holding a highly competitive arena that is the "main nemesis" of the European leagues. Traditionally, CONMEBOL (S.A.) and UEFA (Eur.) have been the strongest confederations of football.

Will EA Listen To This Poll?

Probably not, but they might. Other than that, it's always fun to see the opinions of others, which in this case would be your opinions.

Why add South America above Europe?

THIS DOES NOT MEAN THAT I'M NOT IN FAVOR OF MORE EUROPEAN LEAGUES.

I've seen way too many "Pro Non-Europe" posters getting bashed by people wanting more European leagues.

Well, the truth you must come to understand is that while Europe does hold the vast majority of the best leagues in the world, not all of the European leagues are better than the top leagues of non-European countries. South American leagues tend to be better than a series of European leagues already in the game, and also in real life.

EA has already added plenty of European leagues, and has even opted for adding Second Division leagues for some European countries (Especially England) instead of more leagues from other European countries.

European Leagues that I think should be in the game (But are not): Russia, Greece, Romania, and Ukraine.

If You Don't Know Anything About South American Football

Here is some information regarding the strengths of each of the leagues:

Strong (2): Brazil and Argentina.

Good (3): Colombia, Peru, Chile.

Moderate (3): Uruguay, Paraguay, Ecuador.

Weak (2): Bolivia and Venezuela.

From what I have heard over the past 3 years is that EA cannot add the Argentinean league into the game mainly due to the Argentinean league itself.

I'm not sure how much effort EA has really put into getting a contract from the Argentinean league, but apparently the Argentineans either ask for too much or simply cannot provide the league to EA because of some other rather obscure licensing problems.

I would love to play in the Argentinean league, and would like the game even more if some sort of "Copa Libertadores" tournament could be arranged.

Yet, in the usual case that the Argentinean league does not make it in, which other league(s) could be in instead of them?

Colombia, Peru, Uruguay, and Chile have highly competitive leagues. All of the teams in the league has as much of a chance of winning as they do as losing their respective tournaments, but that's due to the quantity of good players that come out of those leagues.

Paraguay and Ecuador also have excellent leagues, but the main thing that makes them different from the other 4 leagues is that their tournaments are mainly dominated by 2 or 3 great teams that usually end up getting the title and the top positions every single year; the rest of the teams are just "meh."

^^Agree.

Argentinean league should be added in the FIFA game.

I've never really known why they haven't been added, but if what you say is true, then I still wouldn't mind another S.A. league.

Colombia, Peru, or Uruguay would do fine for me. Along with Russian and Greek leagues.

Please listen to this EA!

Well, the information I gave was the last reason I heard as to why the Argentinean league is not in the game. I can't really tell you for sure, though. If you want to know more, you should probably try asking an actual EA person.

Like I said before, Peru, Colombia, Uruguay, and Chile would do fine for me.

although many people doesn't know, brazilian league is one of the best leagues in the world...it's not a rich league, but when it comes to football they've got at least 10 teams being favorite to the championship, it's a very leveled league...

Brazilian league is already in the game.

This is meant to suggest for at least one more South American league to be added for the next game.

South American Leagues are among the top 20 in the world, according to the IFFHS rankings.

Yet, EA has only Brazil from South America.
