hello everyone...this is my first time in a fifia08 forum...i usually go to real football or 09-10.
the reason why I am here is to ask... HOW IN THE HELL DO YOU SCORE FROM OUTSIDE THE BOX???? really? the only times that it ever happened seemed more of a bug of the game, where the ball goes over the keeper and seems like a ugly volley. is it just me or is it almost impossible?

Its quite easy actually. I use the button....I can't remember what its called, the button opposite to Lobs, its works well. Use that and aim towards the opposite angle (Away from the keeper). If you cannot do it, use guides and if you still can't PM me and I wil go in depth. But do try this first.

my point was that on fifa08 it was really hard to score from far away. i have scored from 30 m but it was luck...it's something that on fifa 08 rarely happens. but i still hear people on 09 saying they want the shooting to be something like 08. another thing that bothered me is(...i have a ps3 and i think the curling shoot button is R1) the curling shoot is pretty useless since you can never score with it.

First off you need a player with good shooting. Use the right stick to knock the ball forward and your player will make better contact with the ball. Note: You can't score all the time from distance but at least test the keeper, it would be ridiculous if everyone started scoring long range goals all game, but it is better than 09 (where any more than a touch of power and you're in row z). |

totally agree with you on that.... but if you pay attention when you score from a far distance...the goal is actually a volley that just goes over the GK head. on 08 there is no real distance goal that looks realistic.....all look like volleys...same thing with euro 08...then came euro's08 game..and on the demo of euros08 it seemed they fixed the prob, then when i bought the game the scoring system was just like fifa 08. -.-''

I don't agree, many a time I have managed to get the ball down the right (Scoring towards right) and steve Finnan has recieved the ball after a run and I use the opposite of lob button (cant remember name) and I press the shoot button and the ball goes away from the keeper and in the back of the net. I can do this no problem, sometimes I can do this and score 3 times in 1 match.
Also what controls do you use? I tend to put the passing and shooting on semi, and manual on everything else.

You can shoot normally from like 5-10 yards outside the box and depending on the player, you can score some good goals...An easy time to score long range goals is when the opposing team clear the corner, you will get it around 10 yards outside the box, volley it and around half of the time you will get it in
