Default Fifa 08 manager mode HELP!!!!

Im playing manager mode with Manchester Utd.

I make about 800,000 on ticket sales and 1 million on sponsor pay out and I spend about 1.5 million on team expenses, which leaves me with about 250,000 of profit per home game.

Now the problem is that when I play away games I loose 520,000 bucks per game so every few games I loose more and more money and I have no idea how to switch that up and make more money then I spend.

I need tips guys please.

Hiya Cbass,

Have you tried increasing the ticket prices?

The option's in the 'Staff Upgrade' screen i think; it can be toggled to Low, Medium or High, so this might be a way to squeeze some more cash out of your poor fans on home games!

Another option is to sell some players during one of the transfer windows and reduce your wage bill. A big club like Man Utd ought to have some fringe players you can sell on (or single, highly-paid star player... *cough* Ronaldo *cough*).

(Of course, you can't then up the wage bill again by buying lots of flashy new players. You must be stern with yourself!)

You can also try renegotiating the contracts of some players in the 'Player Contracts' screen to get them to accept a lower wage, although this is unlikely to work without a high-level Negotiator on staff...

Hope that helps. Best of luck with your MM.

1. If you are in transfer period, you can sell some
players you don't want and replace them with
cheaper and younger players
who would eventually grow to the same level

(I would recommend buying young&cheap
players from Brazilian league,
and give them the longest contract you can give
so wage doesn't increase during the years)

2. If you are not in transfer period,
I'm not sure if this works for Next Gen,
but renew players' contract to a cheaper one.

It should be easy with United
because they should have a good negotiator.

You need to pay a lot for renewing contracts,
but you can set the wage to about 1/2-3/4 of the original wage
and still the player can accept it.

If he doesn't accept the offer,
don't save, quit manager mode,
then come back to make a slightly better offer.

I'm sorry, the last part of the second idea might be cheating.
I think BraveTyger told you everything, so I just improved a bit of his answer.
