Default FIFA PODCAST - Questions for the PODCAST

Hey all,

This thread is here for you to ask your questions for the production team when they record the PODCAST.

This thread is for questions only and all other posts will be removed. If you have technical support issues then please visit the Support Centre, found at the top of the page.

Where to hear the podcast

To listen to the PODCAST in game:
Press Start > My FIFA 08 > Settings > Audio, and on EA PODCAST select "EA AND TALKSPORT". The podcast should then automatically play when you load up FIFA and are connected online.

Will goalkeepers become more realistic next year, will they be able to get sent off, come up for corners in the last minute, and also will players be able to go in goal?

I like this idea and have already suggested it to the team behind the podcast now. Who knows, you may be featuring in a podast some day soon....

Please read the original post. This thread is not the place to ask questions about the next FIFA game. Until it's announced we will not answer any questions about future games.

How do you choose what stadiums to include, or is it just a matter of grabbing all the big teams stadiums because they are more popular worldwide, wouldnt it be a better idea to include a few average stadiums, like White Heart Lane, Upton Park and the Riverside.

Okay question about the current FIFA game (and also for EURO 2008!) - Will the shocking ranked points system ever be adjusted so that:
  1. Quitters are punished appropriately
  2. People who lose games after playing them out thoroughly are NOT punished (or anymore so than quitters are), and
  3. People are rewarded appropriately for using weaker team.
If you look at my poll in my signature, I believe you (EA) need to address this ASAP as many people's views on this seem to be falling on deaf ears, especially since the points system didn't change for EURO 2008, despite all that's been said in here since FIFA.

Thats my five dollars worth.

Why wasnt the FIWC advertised so that more people could have been involved, lots of people missed out who are fantastic players because of them not knowing. And what age do you have to be to enter?

I've always been interested about the commentary.

How are player names assigned? Is there one big list of player names with the two commentators reading them one after the other? Also, how is it programmed so that when the goalkeeper makes a save, the commentator in turn says "The keeper pulls off a fantastic save" or whatever?

Also, I was also going to suggest fan podcasts, maybe with the fans voicing their opinions, recording their thoughts and then sending them to Paul Hosick (I think that's his name? ) to answer? I thought of it as I was listening to the most recent podcast, and it seems as if others have thought of the idea too. (No disrespect to Andrew Collins or anything )

A question for VB: If Sheffield united are supposedly the superior team in Sheffield, how come they could't manage to beat us mighty owls in the relalala derby matches? XD

p.s Up the Owls

You could say the same about Man city. how come they did the double over Man utd when they are the worser team. Obvisiously teams try harder in derby matches so there is your answer.

Is there a way to listen to the podcast online via a PC. My PS3 isnt online and i don't have iTunes so i can't listen via those 2 methods.

When you first sign in to 08 a big message appears explaining the fiwc.
If you have a look at offers from ea in your fifa menu you will find it.

oh its rumoured alright!!! Lets not stop it from being in the game, but hardly anyone will play it considering all the fan-boys that play the game and Be A Pro as it is!! ...EA should put more time into other features such as practise mode, Be A Pro Careers, a much fairer and more sensible online ranked points system, etc.

I have a question about the players movement. Why can you only move a player in 8 directions. Is there a particular reason for this, and do EA plan to implement free movement of a player in the future?

NO and NO!!! Firstly if thats the case, EVERYONE will pick the best team in the game, regardless of whether they support them or not. On the other hand, nobody should be forced to play only as the team they support, there is hundreds of thousands of teams in the game to be picked, and the best thorough players are those who can pick up and play with ANY team.

Dandliver your point is understandable though about being fed up playing the same teams over and over. What we need to be hitting at EA is to properly encourage and reward the use of weaker teams in the game online. Its been done already to some extent, but needs to be done even more now considering the way people are still playing the game online at the moment.
