Ben Arfa looked like he had a good game. Wouldve been good he scored that volley, but he assisted very well to Niang's goal!

Good Stuff.

Pre Match Report

Tomorrow's game looks to be a battle of the titans. PSG and Marseille have had a heated rivalry for a while now and it will not be any different when they meet at Parc des Princes. PSG sits in 8th place right now while Marseille is in 6th each having a game in hand. They are both looking to take the title away from Lyon this year, but dethroning them is not as easy as it looks.

Marseille tied Lyon on the 15th of September 1-1. PSG doesn't meet last years champs until December 1st. PSG's record coming into the game is 4-1-3, while Marseille's is 5-1-2. Last years series saw Marseille take one game and tie the other. They won the home game and tied the away leg. This should be an intense game this year as both have much to prove still if they want to be crowned champs.

Good Stuff.
He has been playing great for me so far. He has 4 goals on the season playing almost an attack mid position behind Niang and Cisse.

About to play match!

RB: Hilton-79
CDM: L. Cana (Captain)-81
LCM: B. Cheyrou-77
RCM: K. Ziani-73
RS: H. Ben Arfa-75
LS: D. Cisse-79
CF: M. Niang-81
4-3-3

PSG Starting XI

GK: M. Landreau
RB: Ceara
RCB: G. Bourillon
LCB: Z. Camara
LB: S. Armand
RM: P. Frau
RCM: D. Digard
LCM: J. Clement
LM: J. Rothen
CF: R Luyindula
ST: A. Diane
4-4-1-1

First Half: PSG Kickoff

5th min- PSG gets a dangerous ball into the box from Rothen. Luyindula beats Taiwo in the air and heads it down towards goal. Mandanda runs across the box and makes a great reaction stop!!!

13th min- Niang splits the defense with a great through ball to Cisse. Can....he....get....to......it aww just a step to far. Landreau comes out and smothers the ball before Cisse can get a foot to it.

19th min- Foul on Marseille. Hilton fouled Rothen on the left side of the 18. Rothen to serve the ball in. Luyindula rises to it again. Oh no the ball takes a deflection off of Rodriguez head and going towards goal with Mandanda on the ground. It pings off the crossbar and Taiwo clears it from danger!!! That was close.

22nd min- Cisse takes advantage of the cleared ball and creates a counter attack by himself. He uses his speed to break away from everyone. He beats the last defender and is 1v1 with Landreau. He shoots...............Landreau makes a spectacular kick save to keep the game tied.

29th min- Taiwo gets a through ball down the left side from Cheyrou. He gets a driven cross into the box. Ben Arfa goes for the diving header. Landreau makes another great save. He is keepin PSG in this game right now everybody.

30th min- The corner comes to nothing as Cisse gets his head to it but it goes over the goal.

44th min- Frau scores a goal for PSG. Frau got the ball in the middle of the pitch and takes it to the top of the arch and gets tricky and chips Mandanda to make it 1-0 before halftime.

Frau after putting PSG ahead of Rivals Marseille

Halftime Report: WOW what a half. Landreau has kept PSG in the game long enough with his amazing skills between the pipes that he has let them gain the lead. Frau's goal was a blast to Marseille right before halftime. They need to come out strong in the second half if they want to win this game.

Second Half: Marseille Kickoff

60 mins- So far 15 mins have gone by in the second half and no good chances have come. Marseille better hurry up and get one back if they want to win this game.

61st min- Substitution PSG
In: M.Gallardo
V.Gragnic

Out: J. Rothen
J. Clement

That would be awful if ex Marseille player Gragnic did some damage against his old team.

70th min- Substitution Marseille. I guess they are trying to get more firepower in the game.

In: M. Moussilou
C. Jedinak

Out: M. Niang
K. Ziani

76th min- Foul by a PSG player at the top of the box. Cheyrou to step up and take the kick. He ****s the kick and misses the goal. What a costly give up.

82nd min- CISSE HAS JUST TIED IT AT 1!!! Cheyrou steals the ball at midfield from Gragnic and takes it down the left side of the field. He sees a sprinting Cisse in the middle and lays it off to him. Cisse's first shot it blocked by Ceara and bounces back to him. He makes them pay with the rebound slotting it into the net.

Cisse celebrating with Taiwo after tieing the game at 1s

88th min- Cisse is on fire now. He takes on the tired PSG defence and shoots a bullet across his body. Landreau makes another great diving save to deflect it out of bounds for a corner. Rebound comes out to Cana and he takes a go at goal. Landreau saves again but this time holds on.

Fulltime: Score at fulltime is 1-1. It looks as though ex Marseille boy has cause this game to be tied at the end. He had a costly error in midfield that started the whole goal. I doubt his players will be to happy with him, especially since the goal was so late in the game.

Man of the Match: Suprise Suprise with an amazing performance in the goal Landreau gets the man of the match award.

Nice MM. Strong team Marseille has. Does this mean Cantona will be putting his acting career on hold? One hopes.

Pre Match Report: Marseille has just come off of a stunning game against PSG. They tied the game in the late minutes to make the game 1-1 and each team earning a point. Marseille are now sitting in 5th place while Nancy is in 14th. Marseille look to have the advantage but you never know what will happen in Ligue 1. Here come the teams for kickoff.

First Half: Marseille Kickoff

The first 15 minutes have gone by and there have been no shots on goal or any good chances yet. Seem's as though the teams are very even right now in possesion.

27th min- Finally!!! The first action of the game has come from Marseille player Niang. He turns at the top of the box and takes a shot first time but Nancy goalkeeper Gregorini makes the save and pushes it out for a corner.

35th min- N' Guemo slots a perfectly placed through ball to the feet of Hadji to find him 1v1 with the keeper. Mandanda comes up with a good save and the rebound comes back but Hadji ****s the ball and it goes out for a goal kick.

39th min- On the other end of the pitch Cheyrou gets a good cross into the box. Cisse and Andre Luis collide and the ball is sitting in the box by itself. Another Nancy player is there to avert the danger and clear the ball from the box.

Halftime: The first half was not very eventfull. Each team had around 2 or 3 shots on goal but neither team making a very challenging shot for the keepers. Hopefully the second half will pick up in pace and goal scoring. Here come the teams out of the tunnel now.

Second Half: Nancy Kickoff

49th min- From the kickoff Nancy look dangerous with keeping possesion and advancing into Marseille's half. Curbelo gets the ball near the top of the box and turns Cheyrou to get an open look at goal and takes his shot. His shot goes by the post a couple feet.

50th min- Substitution Nancy
In: M. Zerka
Out: Kim

53rd min- Substitution Nancy
In: E. Duchemin
Out: I. Dia

54th min- From a Marseille throw in Cheyrou throws the ball into Cisse. Cisse takes the ball down the left flank and crosses a ball into the box. Ben Arfa gets on the other end of it and directs it towards goal. GOOOOOAAALLL. He makes it 1-0 Marseille.

63rd min- Foul on L. Cana. Freekick Nancy. Gavanon steps up to the ball to take the kick. He has a bending shot towards goal but Mandanda pushes it wide and out for a corner. The corner comes to nothing.

76th min- Niang tries a long shot from about 30 yards out. The keeper parries it wide and the Nancy defense clears the ball.

82nd min- That has to be game!!! Marseille have just made it 2-nil. Niang finds Cisse 1v2 with Andre Luis and the keeper to beat. Cisse beats Luis and makes it 1v1 with the keep. He takes his shot and it rebounds and Cisse gets to the rebound first and makes sure he puts it in this time.

Fulltime whistle has just blown and Marseille win 2-0

Man of the Match: Hatem Ben Arfa

His Game winning goal clinched him the MOM award

Lorient VS. Marseille
Matchday 11

Starting XI

GK: S.Mandanda-74
LB: T.Taiwo-78
CB: J. Rodriguez-78
CB: G. Givet-79
RB: Hilton-79
CDM: L. Cana (Captain)-81
LM: C. Gonzalez- 82
RM: C. Jedinka- 81
RS: H. Ben Arfa-75

CF: M. Niang-81

Pre Match Report: Marseille are coming off an 8 game unbeaten streak in all compitions after winning a close one in pk's against Caen last week. Lorient have not had that great of form lately only getting 5 points out of 18 points. They just came off of a win last week in the Coupe De La Ligue 2nd round against Boulogne though. They look to correct there mistakes so far this year and start to head in the right direction. Marseille have the advantage though and should win the game. We will find out soon because here come the teams for the start of the match.

First Half: Lorient Kickoff

4th min- A mistake at midfield by a Lorient player sees new boy Gonzalez take the ball away and pass it up field to Niang. Niang then passes a great through ball to Cisse on the run. Cisse is 1v1 with the keeper but Audard parries it out of bounds for a corner. The corner comes to nothing though.

9th min- Marseille shows off there beautiful passing game around the top of the box. Cisse finally gets the ball and takes a first time shot. His shot misses the goal by a couple feet. Looks as though this is going to be a game where Marseille dominates everything.

12th min- Cisse is just terrorizing this defence today. He takes another shot from the top of the box and Audard hits it out for another corner. The corner rebounds out to Jedinak and he takes a shot and misses his off balance shot by miles.

20th min- Gonzalez gets his first points of the season in Ligue 1 by assisting to Niang. Gonzalez dribbles down the left sideline and beats his man with speed and crosses it into the box. Niang gets his head to it but he looks as though it was a weak off balance header. It floats over Audard and lands in the back of the net.

35th min- The game has started to settle down a little bit and the ball is staying in the midfield with a good battle between the midfields going on.

43rd min- Cisse is doing whatever he please's against this weak Lorient defence. Again he turns them and has a 1v1 with Audard. He takes his shot and it is deflected into the air and Niang gets a first time cross in from the deflection. Ben Arfa is on the back post for the header but Audard makes the save to keep the scoreline from getting any worse.

Halftime Report: Marseille have shown no mercy since this match has started. Lorient has had no shots on goal while Marseille has had 9 and converted 1. Cisse is having the game of his life against this defence today. He can do whatever he wants, I doubt he minds that though. If the second half is like this expect Marseille to put more of there attempts in the net.

Second Half: Marseille Kickoff

47th min- The Lorient players are getting frustrated now and start to foul viciously. M. Ciani is given a warning from the center ref on a hard tackle on Ben Arfa. Freekick 35 yards out. Jedinak takes a shot but misses high and wide.

65th min- Marseille are still dominating the game but instead of shots this half its in possesion. The are possesing the ball very well and not letting Lorient get a chance on goal.

Fulltime: The second half was not as eventfull as the first but Marseille beat this tired and weak Lorient team up and down the field today. Marseille ended up with 15 shots while Lorient had 1. Possesion was 66-44 to Marseille. The only goal of the game came from Niang in the first half. Marseille are starting to show they are serious this season.

Man of the Match: Mamadou Niang

New Man Cantona Pleased!!

Eric Cantona has told Marseille tv today that he is very pleased with the way his team have been performing lately. He said that he has pushed them very hard during training to keep them the most fit club in Ligue 1 this year. He also said he has all the confidence in the world that this team could win the league this year and bring back the long awaited title to the Velodrome again.

In other news around Marseille today the baord has told Manager Cantona that they are pleased with the way things are going right now. They have also repaired some breaks and repainted a few places in the stadium to keep it in top notch shape. It took about 10,000 euros out the bank but we can handle that to keep our stadium the best in the league.
