Le Guen Sacked As Rangers Manager
French manager, Paul Le Guen, was fired yesterday by Rangers F.C. chairman Sir David Murray. Le Guen was only with the club for 1 year, after being hired after Alex McLeish left to join EPL club Birmingham City. During his spell with Rangers, players did not like Le Guen's strict disciplinary stance. The Gers got off to a poor start under Le Guen, losing to lower teams, and a loss in the League Cup to Division One side, St. Johnstone. There have been rumors that Le Guen will return to France to manager Paris St. Germain. There is no word yet on who Rangers' new manager will be, but AC Milan manager, Carlo Ancelotti is a front runner for the spot.

Le Guen struggled with Rangers during his 1 year spell with the club.

Well, actually he took over during the middle of the 2006/2007 season (January 10th, 2007). But is all good. Nice start to your Gers.

Rangers Name New Manager
As expected, Italian, Carlo Ancelotti, has been given the job to manage Rangers. The 48 year old Ancelotti, has managed Serie A powerhouse, AC Milan since 2001, and has won the Serie A once and the UEFA Champions League twice. Ancelotti is known as one of the best managers in the world today, and he could bring Rangers back to success in European competition.

--------------------------------------------------------------

Interview With Carlo Ancelotti

Reporter: Hello Mr. Ancelotti. Congratulations on your new position as Rangers FC's manager.

Ancelotti: Thank you.

Reporter: Carlo, you just won the Champions League with AC Milan, what made you come to Glasgow?

Ancelotti: Well, I have been friends with the chairman here for a while, and I thought it would be fun and interesting to manage somewhere I haven't managed before.

Reporter: You've certainly inherited some talent here at Rangers. Do you plan to buy or sell anyone?

Ancelotti: I certainly do have some good talent, all the way from the starting 11 to the reserves. As for transfers, I don't know yet, only time will tell.

Reporter: Rangers did not have a great year last year and got off to a slow start. They also did not qualify for the either the UEFA Cup or Champions League, due to speculation of match fixing. How will you do this year?

Ancelotti: I will my hardest. I think we will do better this year, winning the League and hopefully a Cup or two. And for the match fixing, it's just too bad that a great and prestigous club like Rangers can even be blamed for something like that.

Reporter: Thank you for your time.

Ancelotti: No problem.

Boyd Hat Trick Sinks Falkirk

1st minute: Rangers are looking to come away with 3 points after drawing against Celtic last week.

4th minute: Dan Holden strikes the free kick well for Falkirk, but puts it over the bar.

11th minute: GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOALL!!!!! There's the breakthrough! Stephen Naismith makes a perfect pass to Kris Boyd, and Boyd beats a defender then slots the shot into the bottom corner.

19th minute: Chris Burke swings a cross into and Naismith gets a head to it, but Krul makes a diving save.

22nd minute: Boyd fires a shot from the edge of the box, but is stopped by a brilliant save, and Naismith tries to follow it up, but Krul makes another great save, and then the ball is cleared out of bounds.

23rd minute: GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOALLL!!!!!! Kris Boyd smashes a shot from 10 yards out, and tucks it into the bottom corner for his 5th goal this year.

29th minute: Naismith plays a beautful ball through to Boyd, but Krul plays it perfectly and jumps on the ball before he can get a shot off.

42nd minute: WHAT A SAVE!!!!! Russell Lapaty plays the ball low and into the box for Carl Finnigan and Finnigan strikes it first time, and some how Alan McGregor is able to get a foot to the ball.
