Arsenal started as favourites but almost gave manchester city the lead in the 10 minute. Bojinov was just outside the box when Neuer did a goalkeeper charge. Cleverly Bojinov lobbed the ball over Neuer but unluckily the ball hit the crossbar and went out for a goal kick. Then in the 16th minute Walcott made a long run down the left wing and crossed the ball straight at Adebayor's head. Adebayor easily headed the ball past Isakkson. Once again in the 38th minute there was a run down the wing but this time by James Milner who delivered a perfect cross and Adebayor got his second goal of the game. In the second half Manchester city were defending the wings very carefully and playing a very attacking game. Bojinov scored a goal for Manchester city in the 68th minute to put Manchester city back in the game. Straight after the goal Guus Hiddink changed the formation to 5-3-2 and brought on Eboue, Fabregas and Rosicky. Manchester city continually attacked but could not break through Arsenal's defence. Arsenal hung on to win the match 2-1

After a good win against Manchester city Arsenal travelled to JJB stadium for week 2 of the premier league. The ball was in midfield for most of the first half until Koumas finally got a break through in 45th minute. His shot was saved by Neuer. Then the ball went out for a corner. Camara took the corner and koumas got a header into the back of the net. In the second half things got worse as Wigan goal thanks to Camara. In the 77th minute Guus Hiddink used all his substitiutions to bring on a couple of experienced players. But gunners could not score and the match turned out 2-0 in Wigans favour.

Arsenals veteran goalkeeper Jens Lehmann has been sold to VFB Stuttgart on a free transfer. Lehmann told the sun newspaper yesterday that he was tired of watching from the sidelines and it is clear to him that Guus Hiddink wants to instill young blood into Arsenal's goalkeeping spot.

Aliaksander Hleb arsenals belarusian midfielder has been sold to the blaugrana for an undisclosed fee.

Gilberto Silva has left Arsenal for a transfer fee of 5 million to join Greek football giants Olympiakos

It was meant to be a blockbuster clash between Liverpool and Arsenal at Anfield but it was anything but. Liverpool grabbed the lead in the 14th minute thanks to Jermaine Pennant. Pennant pounced on a loose ball in the goalbox and scored. After that the game produced no goals and the ball stayed in midfield for most of the time.

Justin Hoyte has been loaned out for the season to Leeds. Guus Hiddink has said that if Justin would not get a spot in the first team because Arsenal have two talented right backs in Bacary Sagna and Emmanuel Eboue. It will be better for him to gain some more experience and try to get the spot next season

Niklas Bendtner has been loaned out to Dundee united. Guus Hiddink has comented that Niklas needs to become more mature before he gets regular spots in the first team and Arsenal already have half a dozen strikers in the squad
