Lee announces assistant

Sammy Lee has announced that youngster Ray Hunt will become assistant manager at Liverpool. The appointment comes as a huge shock to the footballing world as it is believed that Ray has no previous coaching experience. Sammy Lee has defended his decision to hire Ray as his assistant.

Liverpool take Aston Villa to court

Liverpool FC have decided to take Aston Villa to court after the midlands outfit saw fit to sell Carson to Deportivo.

Scott Carson was on loan to Villa and was expected to return to Liverpool after this season, but Aston Villa have sold the shot stopper to Deportivo, leaving Liverpool speechless.

FIFA have released this statement: "The rules state that a club who have a player loaned in have no right to sell the player. However, as the transfer has already taken place we at FIFA can do nothing but fine Aston Villa."

Aston Villa are believed to have payed a fine of £5,000,000 to Fifa, but Liverpool feel they are being treated unfairly as they have lost a player and get no money in compensation.
