No UEFA Champions League for Season 2007-2008

UEFA President, Michel Platini, met with the French and Dutch Ministers for European Affairs, Jean-Pierre Jouyet, and Frans Timmermans, as well as representatives from the six main team sports at the House of European Football in Nyon on Thursday. They have come to a decision that this season’s UEFA Champions League will be cancelled due to a fallout between the UEFA council and the boards of the Luzhniki Stadium, the stadium to hold the UEFA Champions League 2007-2008 Finals. The UEFA council seeks understanding from football fans all over the world, and promises that UEFA Champions League for 2008-2009 will be better.

Many teams qualified for the UEFA Champions League has also shown disagreement with the UEFA council, as it would greatly affect their revenue for the season. Last season’s UEFA Champions League winners, AC Milan; have been requested to place the UEFA Champions League trophy with the UEFA council.

The UEFA Champions League trophy,
last won by AC Milan

David Villa for sale?

David Villa, nicknamed El Guaje (The Kid in Asturian) is a Spanish football player, who currently plays for Valencia CF and the Spanish national side. He is regarded by many to be one of today's top strikers, renowned for his shooting accuracy in front of goal. Valencia has placed him on the transfer list for a fee of ₤30,000,000. Manchester United manger Sir Alex Ferguson has expressed no interest in the Spanish star. David Villa is tipped to head to Stamford Bridge, due to the unlimited cash owner Roman Abramovich seems to have. Elsewhere, teenage prodigy Dos Santos, currently playing for Barcelona, has also been placed on the transfer list for a reported fee of ₤14,000,000 , as he looks to seek first team opportunities.

Community Shield Finals

Man to watch: Cristiano Ronaldo

_______

The match started off with both teams feeling nervy, passes were stray and possession wasn’t kept long for both team. The first shot came from Wayne Rooney, in the 6th minute, when Ronaldo found him at the middle of the park. Rooney took a few steps forward, and lashed a powerful shot, but it hit John Obi Mikel in the groin. Possession fell back to Chelsea and play continued.

Into half-time, neither team could break the deadlock. Both teams were squandering possessions in the final third of the field, and United could have gone into the lead just before half-time, but Tevez blast his volley into the crowds.

It took both teams 54 minutes to break the deadlock. Scholes found a ball-seeking Ronaldo, overpowering Ashley Cole with his pace, into the penalty box and Ronaldo fired it low at the bottom left hand corner.

Both teams continued strong with possession, and neither wanted to get the ball out of play. Nani was waiting at the sideline since the 75th minute to be subbed into the game, but he came on only 15 minutes later, when Ronaldo’s solo effort saw him go past 3 men, one on one with the keeper, and he made no mistakes. Deep into injury time, United delivered a dangerous corner into the Chelsea penalty box, and it was Ronaldo, who leaped into the air and headed it into the top right corner. The refree blew for full time, and United ran out eventual winners.

Final Score: Manchester United 3-0 Chelsea

It proves again, that Cristiano Ronaldo was the difference between the two teams. United are crowned the winners for Community Shield.

Man of the match: Cristiano Ronaldo

Sir Alex Ferguson was unavailable for interview, as he rushed immediately to the local hospital, as his wife is ill. Assistant manager Carlos Queiroz took up Sir Alex’s role, and praised the boys for a wonderful performance, especially Ronaldo. United will be looking strong to start the new season, where they face Newcastle United in their first game of the campaign. Former United fan favourite, Alan Smith, should start against the Red Devils.

thanks! I don't really think I'd spend on anyone this season, as I feel since Manchester United didn't, why should I?

SHOCK NEWS IN THE GROUNDS!
Just hours after the Community Shield triumph, Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has announced that he will step down as a manager. Sir Alex revealed that his wife is in a critical state, as she was sent to the hospital just a day before the Community Shield clash. Sir Alex will now be an advisor for Manchester United, and assistant manager Carlos Queiroz will be stepping up the ranks.
Carlos Querioz expressed in an interview with the local media: “I was shocked about Sir Alex’s decision. He probably wanted to spend more time with Mrs. Ferguson. I respect his decision and I will do my best to achieve like how he did during his Manchester United managerial career.”
However, the players got well with the news and wished Mrs. Ferguson all the best, and a speedy recovery. The Manchester United boards will be pleased that the players work well along with assistant manager Carlos Queiroz, and insists that they will not find another manager to replace Sir Alex.
“Queiroz has to be the best option. He has been with Sir Alex for years, and knows exactly how this team functions. We will not waste our time to seek for a new manager, and we believe Queiroz has got what it takes.”
Carlos Queiroz will now take charge of Manchester United’s first game against Newcastle United. Carlos Queiroz has also revealed that he should not be involved in the summer transfer market.

Carlos Querioz, who will now be
Manchester United’s manager.

When you put up a report, don't show the whole print screen, cut around the bit you want and place it in the corner of the paint programme. I'll edit this in a moment to show you what I mean: EDIT:

Much clearer
