(1st-42) CHELSEA FC v READING (18th-13)

Fernando Torres early goal widened Chelsea's gap at the top of the League table after both Tottenham and Blackburn lost their games.

Torres put the home side in front after just 6 minutes of play. He dribbled through Reading's defence before unleashed a beastly shot which hit the bar before deflected back into the goal.

(20th-9) BOLTON v CHELSEA FC (1st-45)

F.Zachy scored the only goal to deny the rock-bottom Bolton an amazing draw against the League leader.

The winger proved that persistance is virtue as he finally broke Bolton's resistence in the second-half injury-time by scoring from A.Hearn through-ball.

The only goal spare Chelsea from a potential embarrassment after Bolton defended bravely to deny Chelsea any goal for 90 minutes at the Reebok Stadium.

(1st-42) CHELSEA FC v PORTSMOUTH (18th-13)


Chelsea eased to victory with a 4-0 win against Portsmouth with R.Thornton scored his first hat-trick for Chelsea.

Chelsea opened the scoring 5 minutes before time when R.Thornton pushed the ball between Barretti's leg before he shot it past Pompey keeper before he doubled the lead before the break.

Portsmouth lack of defencing cost them the third goal as M.Rodrigues' through- ball find R.Thornton before he completed his hat-trick.

3 minutes before time, Laursen made it 4 for Chelsea when his shot deflected off the keeper and into the roof of the net

(15th-19) WIGAN v CHELSEA FC (1st-51)


A late Ryan Thornton strike gave Chelsea another 3 points as they beat Wigan 1-0 at the JJB Stadium.

Thornton raced on to Laursen's pass in the injury-time and shot the ball into the back of the net after his first shot was deflected off the keeper.

The homeside got a few chances for themselves but Chelsea's center backs and goalkeeper managed to deny all of them.

Chelsea cruised to victory after a 3-0 win against Everton at the Stamford Bridge.

Avila Rojas opened the scoring in the 19th minutes with 20-yards low shot from Fernando Torres pass before the Spaniard himself scored a stunning 25-yards shot into the top corner of the net.

F.Zachy then sealed Chelsea's win with a solo run into the box and blast the ball below the Toffees' goalkeeper into the bottom-right corner.

A good start at the new year as Chelsea's early goal was enough for them to earn their 20th victory in 21 matches.

The only goal for the game was scored by former Liverpool's striker, Fernando Torres in the 17th minutes.

F.Zachy pass the ball to Torres after R.Fang failed to clear a loose ball before the Spaniard blast the ball into the top corner of the net, beyond Itandje reach.

M.Laursen helped Chelsea to victory as the young winger scored both goals against Middlesbrough at Stamford Bridge.
