Doubt it, they'll make you buy FIFA 09.

Surely you'll be able to download some kind of update, like you can do for PES?

I don't believe that EA have ever released an official roster update for the season after a game has been released - after all, they'd like you to trot out and buy the new version, thus validating their business model. You may be able to find third party roster patches, of course, but there won't be anything official.
