NA Patch 2 Error? No Fear, Solution Is Finally Here!

Since many people couldn't solve this error, i'm being good and will try to help you guys out hopefully

Looks like some people couldn't download the ini_pc.big file from Rapidshare, hence i've uploaded to another file hosting site. Together with the ini_pc.big file, i've included the File Master 08. File Master 08 is an application used to check what region is your FIFA08 correctly and also check your current FIFA08's version. Follow my steps if you're having errors patching.

1. Download the ini_pc.big file and File Master 08 from here
2. Install the File Master 08.
3. Run File Master 08 and it should have automatically located your FIFA08 main folder installed on your computer. The location will be shown on the left panel.
4. Click on the drop down on the left panel. You will see there's a config.dat ZIP-like file. Click on the config.dat file.
5. On the right panel, double click on:

a) sku.ini - You will see there's "PATCH_VERSION = 1" in the first line. 1 refers to non-patch version, 2 means 1st patch has been applied, 3 means 2nd patch has been applied, 4 means all 3 patches have been applied. If you see the value '4', it means your FIFA08 has been patched with the 3 patches successfully.

b) locale.ini - You can check what region is your FIFA08. Do not trust the old method of checking the Registry. Find anything that mention it's a North America or Nordic version. Then, you can download the correct region patches and start patching.

For those who are having error patching the 2nd patch with the ini_pc.big file, most probably this error only occurs to NA versions. Therefore, try to get the ini_pc.big file i've included and

Copy and paste the file into "C:\Program Files\EA SPORTS\FIFA 08\data\cmn" directory. (Or anywhere else you install your FIFA08 game).

*If you are using a NoDVD crack, please access your DVD main folder and copy the FIFA08.exe and replace it back to your FIFA08 main folder before installing the patches.

Really hope this will help many of the unsatisfied users out there.

at there i didn't see anything that say the INI_PC.BIG file, only the download free, or premium

If you are using the default forum skin it isn't easy to see hyperlinks. Mouse over the 'Download Link' text in the original post and you should see that that is a link to a file on rapidshare.

Chrisckj, you should click on the FREE button to proceed to the next page in order to download the file. Many people here are not familiar with Rapidshare eh?

Ish you should know barely what you need to do on that page. =S

Just choose any download mirror (or you can just ignore this), type in the code and press the Download button.

OH my god, i press the FREE button, then get to another page, after that go to a page where there write alot of the download thinng, like download global, then i select it, type in the code they gave, go to another page there write download session invaild.

thanks for the suggestion, but it dodn't work... still stops at 17% config.dat file.

Can u put the file somewhere other than RS, as I can't download from there as it seems my IP address has reach the file download limit, even though I didn't use RS recently. Thanks.

Dido, also can't download from RS after choosing free, then choosing a server it says Download Invalid. Is there anywhere else we can get the file or better is there a patch to fix/replace the NA patch?

If EA is watching and wondering, yes I do have a legal copy and no I have not installed any mods or used any No DVD cracks.

Weird...i've tried a few times and i didn't have any problems downloading the file from the link...did you guys try changing the servers to download?

Sorry i dunno where else i can upload the file for free and without registering...the hosting site i usually upload my files to is unavailable at the moment and i will be unavailable for the next few days too

At 11% I get config.dat old File not found. However, a file of the same name was found..
I tried to restore this file from the DVD but I get the same result.
Can anybody send me this file? I'm use NA.exe

You need to install the roster patch first before trying to install the second patch
