It could be because of that windows/IE update ... you can go through Interactive Leagues, then login from there and go to the lobby.

Check the sticky thread for more info about that one.

I reinstall FIFA08 from DVD NOrdic Version... 1st patch have no trouble...

But 2nd patch cant finish installation... ERROR found on ENG.DB file

Some knows how to fix this? Cant play online beacuse of this!

Most likely explanation is that you're trying to apply the wrong version of the patch (there are regional differences between the English strings even though they are all issued as ENG.DB)

Authentic product, downloaded every single patch, spoke to EA support, tried this patch, scrubbed the registry and still nothing :-/
NA patch get to 78% says patch not there but it is :-/

Uninstall and re-installs 5 times now, deleted everything, tried the ANSWER
and still no joy... first time ever cannot play an EA game after 10 years playing them no hiccups

I have tried this file and it still doesn't work. I have uninstalled, reinstalled, repatched and got rear ended again but the same error message at 78%.

I too have being playing fifa since 1997 and I haven't experience problems like this before in my life to update a game. I feel like returning the game, not even EA support is helping.

download patch 1
and patch 2 both the dd and dvd patch and it worked for me

If you have a legit version of the game with no third party modifications and apply the correct patch versions in the right order then it will work

Works awesome, thanks. Took me a while to actually be able to download the small file from RapidShare (I had to download it on my Mac and transfer it to my PC) but all works well now. I can finally play online!

Sorry Steve, I have legit version in South Africa, mine has english and mexican as languages in ini file, and I can't install 2nd patch. From a CLEAN install, no dvd crack, nothing, clean. Something's amiss. I've tried NA and UK patches.

I'm annoyed and despondent. I can just hope, but .... ?

I downloaded the file. Did like it says. Then download NA patch2 installed it. It went to 100%. But still when i go to fifa08 and join interactive league it says : Alert: the version of your game is old u have to download a patch. What can i do? I didnt spend 40$ for this **** what ea does

ok u guys i did every single step u told me, but only Nordic worked for my first patch and 2nd patch i downloaded all patches DD and DVD all of them and i pasted INI_pc file and i pasted from DVD so it can be original after i updated the online squads and still 2nd patch doesnt work. i tried everything so anyone have any idea about this, i saw edgarhog have same problem and noone cares to help him. i have account and its all legal but i cant get it to work. can anyone help me? and please dont repeat old stuff i did it all .

Can you tell us which file the second Nordic patch fails on (after you've installed the roster patch, obviously)?? Use the DVD version if your game came on DVD, or the DD version if you downloaded it from EA's store.
