X2300 Notebook GFX Card Compatibility

I have been trying to run fifa 07 for days on my new vista notebook but i cant get it working. The game loads to the "EA Sports" white loading screen where the voiceover becomes distorted and then the game freezes, normally on a white screen. I have updated all my drivers, put direct X to 10, turned off all virus detection programs when running the game, closed as many background programs as possible, but the same thing happens when i load the game. I am guessing fifa just doesnt support this graphics card on vista but am hoping for a suggestion which will prove me wrong.
Just to rub salt in my wounds, the largely inferior Cricket 07 runs as smooth as you like so it can't just be a probelm with all EA games

Display - ATI Mobility Radeon X2300
Sound - Realtek High Def Audio
