Default HELP ! Game runs on "fast" speed.

My Fifa 07 (PC) keeps playing on "fast " speed setting even though I changed it to 'normal' at Game setting. How do I fix this?

Do you mean that the game runs fast or that the option keeps resetting itself?? Are you playing on a laptop?? If so, and the option remains on normal, then you have probably fallen foul of the 'CPU stepping' problem. You will need to find a way to switch the feature off for your machine (it varies for AMD and Intel CPUs, the Intel version is called SpeedStep but I can never remember the name of the AMD equivalent), ensure that the laptop is connected to the power, reinstall the game, and then make sure that the feature is disabled any time you play the game.

Yes Steve..The game runs fast..like very fast..like ridiculously fast..like I cant play it anymore.

Yes I m playing on an laptop. Here's my system configuration:

Machine name: ASUSM6000
Operating System: Windows XP Home Edition (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 2
System Manufacturer: ASUSTeK Computer Inc.
System Model: M6R
BIOS: Default System BIOS
Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) M processor 1.50GHz
Memory: 894MB RAM
DirectX Version: DirectX 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904).

Thanks for the diagnose, Steve. At least I know what's causing it..now, how do i turn off this bloody Speedstep thing.

I think that for Windows XP it is simply a question of setting the Power Options scheme to 'Always On' but I've never attempted to play FIFA on my (work supplied) laptop so I'm not certain. For more information your best bet is probably Bay Wolf's SpeedStep FAQ or the support forums for your laptop maker.
