FIFA 08-Make your PC controller 110% compatible (incl PS3)

Have no luck with my Trust GM-1300 Gamepad (dual analog, 10 buttons). I have tried a lot of advices from this thread . Here is my problems:
1. Game plays like "shift" is always pressed
2. The second anolog doesn't work
3. No button for switching attacking/defencive playing style ("5" on num-keeyboard)
4. No button for "advance to game" function ("space" key on keyboard) in menu - you have to start the match using your PC mouse.
Please, Help!!!


o.k i just managed to fix some of my problems, activated the second analog, but still can't find button for switching attacking/defencive style.

ok guys just do the following and it should work 100% no doubt.
1)- go to the fifa 07 folder in "My Document", then delete the user folder
2)- go to you "Fifa 2007/data/input" folder, then delete the XPadlib.dll file
3)- Open your devdata.dat file with notepad and delete all its contents, then
copy and paste this

i just did that, and the game won't even start anymore . it goes to the black screen as if the game will load, and then it just quits. what can i do?

i guess its not suposed to be a space between the "PLATFORM=PC" and the rest...

Btw mine is working but i got a little problem, the right analog stick directions are all mesed up... i mean.. when i use the 1st touch command i press up and the ball goes into a complete diferent direction... the same applies to the dribble commands... any sugestions?

I have exactly the same problem! And no button for switching attacking/defencive/normal style (No 5 on keyboard). The sugestions i've found is to go to start/control panel/add or remove programs..... and uninstall this $$$$$. I'm going back to game, which is far far far far and far better, and do not have problems with video adapters and gamepads.

Are you sure this method works for the Joytech ps2-usb converter?

The game would only crash under these circumstances
1- You did not delete "XPAdlib.dll". if you dont it will never work
2- The devdata.dat file in your "My documents" is different from the one in your fifa main file.

I suggest you consider re-installing then trying this again.

Also at first i used to create an emty note pad and rename it to "XPadLib.dll" so the game loads nothing from it if it happens to search for it.

For Tose with the wacky right stck syndrome i suggest you map your controller either to the "ps-x usb" or to "game pad pro"
You can also try this as i have inverted the right stick mannually. i do not know wat directions were wrong so you guys should fully explain or go back to page 1 and do it yourselves

I cant guarantee it will be easy but if you actually try every sugestion on page 1 i dont see why u cannot get it fixed. All those who came to my msn messenger got htiers fixed in less than 30 seconds thats how easy it is

I followed this 1 for the use of the Gamepad Pro USB,
Problem i HAD was no right stick.

Problem now, Right stick works but is mimicking the 4 Push buttons Triangle square circle and X

any help appreciated

I have reinstalled fifa07 and know I have a problem with gamepad. I have Saitek P880 gamepad, but analog sticks (when I push them in) don't work. I did the same like before, opened devdata.dat file:

I do exactly as you said and it just refuses to load the game up.

Freh Install of the Dual PSX-USB Adaptor Drivers

Go in game and all the menus are scrolling down and to the righ uncontrollably

I come out and try Your method refuses to load the game up

Have to reinstall

from the way you have described it i am also confused. i need a list of your buttons and trheir corresponding numbers and what you want each number/button to do.

get the numbers from control panel/hardware/gamepad any other place is 100% invalid so dont mess around

Most interesting thing is, that all my buttons are from control panel but it still deosn't work. Tommorow I will make a detail pictures with my gamepad and buttons and control panel-gamepad screens and post them there

Belive me whne i say im doing exactly 100% what you suggested and it just aint havin it.

Step 1 : Reinstall Fifa
Step 2: Follow your guide, Deleting user folder, delting the .dll file and removing everything and adding the data to the cfg file.
Step 3: Atempt to laod the game and it crashing back out to desktop before reacing the EA Sports logo.

Also tried renaming the converter in the registery

Also thought id note that its not the Controller as thats an ordinary PS2 controller its the USB converter thats doing all the menu scrolling lalalala

i installed the second file, and now wen i open fifa...it just closes automatically and dissapears from toolbar lol

edit: sorted, i forgot to delete the user folder

Didn't read the rest of the thread, but if you still looking for it... I'm using RAS for it. Pressing RAS, not moving on the side but PRESSING on RAS will do it (if you got the button on it). I use Saitek P2500.

*I don't know why in device manager there is two controllers(maybe they have to be).
*In my file buttons are from 1 to 10, in default and program made - from 0 to 9

Incredible! I have just remembered what I have done before reinstalling fifa I opened file made by internet program and added all line of gamepad names from default file, and everything works All tricks work, because right analog started to work, escape button works too( now it is button 10, not 9) and tactics selector works (button 9) !!!

I don't know why FIFA needed others gamepad names to recognize it, but now it works and it is great! :P
