so why do think BF2142 NOT pupoler as BF2
is it because

-its future warfare
-LAG, BUGGY, HACKERS ....etc
-the release date of BF2142 was too close to 2
-too much strategy
-big different GAMEPLAY between the two games
-not to much attache for DICE

and do you think DICE return back to future warfare
i really hope the next game after BC2 will be not BF3 BUT 2143 or a remake for 2142
that will brake harts of a lot of noobs lol

The problem is that when I load up a map, It either instantly kicks me with the error message "Punkbuster" and it also happens when I select a spawn location.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled Punkbuster and fully updated it, All the ports have been added to the firewall and there is no Anti-Virus software stopping it working.

On my other PC it works fine, I can see Punkbuster A and B working in task manager while the game and even after the game has been active and that runs on XP.
I had a similar problem to begin with on XP but adding the ports and lowering the graphics seemed to resolve what ever was causing it there, But no such luck on Vista.

Any possible solutions?

It said I need Directx9 or greater, which I do.

I run the game and it isn't in fullscreen. There's a couple of inches off at each side, left and right.

So I go to the 2142 folder and run the Directx setup and it installs, but the game still isn't in fullscreen. I even set my video settings correctly.

I'm going to reinstall the entire game by running the setup.exe as Administrator and see if that helps.

EDIT: Here is the complete error message when updating DirectX:

As a server manager, that is my biggest beef with the current state of this game. I know there is an RCON hack, that allows knuckle heads to dump a server. I am sure that fix is in the next update as it was in BF2. But our GSP's have given up on trying to help us keep our servers from flipping on there backs several time per day...once they do get going. My two Ranked 2142 servers spend about as much time on their backs as the ladies in the Red lite district.
