???

I pre ordered the CE for this game back in August as soon as it was available, completely unaware at the time of these CE extras.

It wasnt untill after my order had despatced last week that I did a little more reading and found out that the UK boxed CE was the only on that didnt include a cloth map and tin case, whereas everywhere else got these with their CE.

No, I wouldnt have wanted to pay an extra $25 to have a copy shipped internationally as this would cost me around £70-80, so why exactly was the UK CE deprived of the extra CE contents?

Note that the price on Amazon.com is £59.99, and £39.99 is actually equal to $66, so UK customers actually paid more and still got less.

Right.

The Bioware forums say that they don't support their own game (no, I have no idea why) and that we have to come here.

BioWare : Dragon Age : DLC Installed but in game MAP NOT SHOWING LOCATIONS!

Above is a 9 page thread on people who can't get the DLC to work. We have bought it, paid for it, installed it, and the initial quest NPC is in the game, standing in the camp with a big quest mark over his head. However, the map locations won't show up, the quest won't start and we can't actually travel to these locations to get either Shale or do the Soldier's Peak DLC content.

Some of us have reinstalled it, restarted the game, deleted cache files, redownladed the DLC itself and various other fixes to no effect.

Bioware aren't answering except to direct us here, and seeing as I (and others) paid for the extra content, we would appreciate a response on what the situation is.

I'm an Australian living in Germany.

Why is it I can't use the UK shop and make purchases from Germany so I can play games in English.

I want to purchase Dragon Age and future add ons from the Uk site as I speak English and not German.

But when I try to use the Uk shop webpage I am automatically taken to the German EA shop page.

I have had to purchase the game via Amazon UK to overcome this annoying system EA has in place. That's fine but my concerns come when I need to purchase the future digital add ons.

It doesn't seem like I will be able too unless I purchase and download them from the German site.Which is just stupid unless EA can guarantee that the German digital downloads will have English audio options when installed.

Oh and will EA accept my Australian credit card for Euro purchases or will I get the stupid message...Not accepted for freudulant reasons...and I thought we were all suppose to be a part of one global village..boink on the head what was I thinking.

Thank god Amazon aren't so narrow minded.

Please EA do something about this as I'm not the only expat that will want to buy this game and expansions.

Richard / Rax here from "Dragon Age: Origins - Warden's Quest" "Team UK", just wanted to say a huge thanks to the whole EA UK community!

We had an amazing event and the support / interest from all was fantastic.

So, having spent "some time" ;-) with the game, as I'm sure you all
know, the game is an incredible mix of all the best RPG concepts, I've detailed my impressions below; (I should clarify that we played the retail game on "Normal" difficulty).

- Story / "Script": Top notch.

- Cut scenes / Voice Acting: Exceptional look & feel. Not too long,
but never throw away either.

- Travel / Movement / Game Scale: Perfect balance of huge world,
without boring travel. (But retaining the sense that you are
travelling around a very large area).

- Encounters: Just right, again, exactly the right number at the right
times, you don't feel forced into them, but you are never wondering
why there haven't been any for a while. Also foes always nicely mixed,
no two encounters the same. Combines the "Ah! I'm safe here, phew!"
and "Oh dear, I better be ready to go through that door" feelings in a
totally clear, logical, balanced & exciting way.

- Combat: Spot on, great balance of positioning, use of environment,
party composition / companion choice, skill combining / ordering, item
/ potion use, specific tactics per foe. We didn't hit any "impossible"
encounters, but had plenty of re-loads / discussions / "try another
tactic" / "1hp left" type situations! Some encounters could be left to
run, with a solid party structure & well thought out, pre-set, combat
tactics, whilst others required total micro management. ;-)

- Character Development: Streamlined, but not mundane, great, free
choice of how to create & progress your character, skills / talents
come at just the right points, you need to think carefully about what
which options you choose, but aren't left for too long before you get
a chance to pick more skills. Specialisations are a great inclusion to
really perfect this approach. The perfect balance between not enough
customisation and needing a degree to figure out the best option for
you play style(s)!

- World: The game world is very richly populated with different
environments, histories, lore, people, items, equipment & events. We
really enjoyed inhabiting it, wanted to defend it, and look forward to
revisiting it and finding out much more!

- Progression: The game keeps things challenging, whilst never "stone
walling" you. It's also seems difficult to make an "unplayable" choice
for your character / companions, almost all setup combinations can be
used (although some very clearly work better than others). Levels
never feel too far away, but you also feel excited and like you've
really achieved something when you do level up.

- Companions: Great mix and individuality, top back stories, great
dialog & interaction between both PC & other companions / NPCs. We
were often left wishing we could have just 1 more in our party, but
felt, upon reflection, that that would clearly have unbalanced things
in favour of the player & over complicated combat.

- Design: Everything, and I mean everything, is beautiful! Need I say more? :-)

- Overall: What can I say! PC Gamer say "RPG of the Decade" and they
are not wrong (Should it be just be "Best RPG of All Time"?). For me
it hit all the right buttons, it was Ultima meets Baldur’s Gate meets
Oblivion meets Champions of Krynn meets Pools of Radiance meets The
Witcher meets Fallout 1- 3 meets X-COM (OK left field, but trust me)
and that is VERY much a good thing! For once I relish giving a game
100 hours + of my life! Bring it on! (Oh and please BioWare, confirm a
sequel, I know how desperate for more I'm going to be when I complete it and that makes me nervous!!)

Thanks again everyone at EA, Staff & Community!

BioWare announced today the Dragon Age: Origins Wardens’ Quest, a 24 hour gaming event for the upcoming dark, epic fantasy Dragon Age: Origins. To celebrate the launch of this award winning new game, BioWare is inviting gamers and press from North America and across Europe to put their skills and endurance to the test as they embark on a tense, epic journey of discovery. On October 28, at 10:00 AM GMT, ten teams of four players each will live, fight and explore the game as the drama unfolds in their 24 hour quest to claim the grand prize. Each winning team member will receive $12,500.

"We’re extremely excited about the Dragon Age: Origins Wardens’ Quest – it’s going to be an awesome chance for gamers to band together to prove they’re the best at navigating the world of Dragon Age," said Mark Darrah, Executive Producer, Dragon Age: Origins. "In the game, putting together a strong team is essential to success - In the same way the overall strength of the competing teams will decide who walks away with the money."

There will be ten participating teams representing their countries: the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, France, Netherlands and Belgium, Spain, the Czech Republic and Slovakia, Hungary, Poland and a specially selected team comprised of the most loyal BioWare fans from around the world.

The UK team consists of:

Thomas Wallis
Richard Burley
Jack Payne
Chris Collins

The teams progress can be followed via Facebook or Twitter. You can find the relevant links in the related links to the left of this article.

The competition will take place in the Debating Chamber at County Hall in London, England. This space will provide a grandiose setting for the competitors to play the game, discuss strategy and battle for the grand prize as teams are eliminated throughout the day. Around the chamber, screens will be used to display leader board stats and show highlights. BioWare staff and costumed actors will further enhance the environment, theatrics and dramatics of the day.

In Dragon Age: Origins, players take the role of a Grey Warden, one of the last of an ancient order of guardians. Now, as a rising evil threatens to destroy all life, it is up to players to unite the shattered lands and slay the corrupted dragon known as the Archdemon. To restore peace, players must make ruthless decisions and be willing to sacrifice their friends and loved ones for the greater good of mankind.
