Just so you know beforehand I use Vista. Today I reinstalled the Sims Deluxe Edition (which I've done many times before) but when I try to play the game it goes to the splash screen (the blue one with the Sims logo) but I never reach the neighbourhood screen because it crashes. Afterwards, when I try to play the game again, this message comes up: "It has come to our attention that you have installed another Sims expansion pack after the Sims Deluxe Edition. For this to work properly, the Sims Deluxe Edition installer will now update your installation. Select OK to proceed." It then tries to unistall the sims. I have no other expansion packs installed other than the Sims Deluxe Edition.

I have listened to it and unistalled and reinstalled it many times, even restarting the computer before and after doing so. It didn't work; I get the same message. I've tried the Sims Eraser but the game still crashes. I've never had this problem before. Also, for some reason, a shortcut to the Sims on my desktop is never created either.

Sorry for the long post but I wanted to make sure to put all the information.
