1. Do I need to install something for BETA on my PS3?
2. Where do I go to download the BBC2 game?
3. What is a beta code and how do I get one?
No doubt I am not the only one trying to find this out.
I have found 1.5 patches to download but surely I need to download the game first.
I am going to go to game tomorrow to pre-order so will I get all the info from them?

Esports Heaven is part of the Heaven Media Group who own and manage sites such as Cadred, TEK9 and Crossfire.nu. Battlefield 2 has been given the opportunity to flourish there as major organisations pick the game up again to prepare for Bad Company 2 next March.

All teams are welcome to this 16 man, 5on5 infantry only tournament which will take place this Sunday 22nd November. Importantly, this is the first tournament being held at Esports Heaven and it's crucial we fill 16 teams.

Cash and hardware prizes will be available in the next tournament if this one is successful, so if you know BF2 teams, are part of one, or want to get back together with an old team just for fun, follow the link and get yourselves signed up on the right hand side control panel!

I recently downloaded this mod and cannot emphasize enough how good it is, it is fast and furious with more than enough air toys to satisfy most people. this mod is what BF2 should have been and I find it so hard to see how EA/Dice couldn't have made the game like this with thier resources. airpower is extremely powerful but can't dominate because the anti-air assets work well but planes can fly carefully as there are limited stinger AA missile kits. one of the most surprising things, considering how much action is going on, is how lag free it is on reasonable ping servers. having previously played Nations at War, Operation Peacekeeper & Eve of Destruction mods, all of which I thought were good but not enough people playing, this mod is a level better with reasonable coop and single player games for practicing. I highly recommend downloading this if you've got jaded with vanilla, as I did and almost exclusively played inf only. as with all mods you'll only find a couple of conquest servers running and not always admin'd so there are the occasional smacktards TKing for toys.

I know that the commander can't spot as much as he did before. When the patch was released I recall that someone mentioned something about there was added a serverside option to remove commander spamspotting. Is this true? In that case, which command is it that can fix this?

I found these commands in the ServerSettings.con:
sv.radioSpamInterval 6
sv.radioMaxSpamFlagCount 6
sv.radioBlockedDurationTime 30

But, as far as I know, these commands applies for all players. Not the commander.

Hey all.

I don't play bf2 much because I don't have the time, but I like it a lot.
Today when I wanted to install the booster pack I ran into a lot of trouble, and please note that I've bought the complete BF2 collection, which contains all the four versions of BF2.
I picked the 'Booster Pack Registration' in the main menu when inserting the BF2 disc, and I got this overview of how to do it. I ran direclty at stage 5 "Visit the Activation website" because I already had a Soldier in the game which I set up on my hotmail, since I wasn't home when I first tried the game.
The setup guide, or whatever, didn't recognize my email and told me that no soldier or account was on that mail. lalala? :shifty:
So I created a new account on the EA website on the same email and same name etc.
Then I got it going. I moved on in the setup and I thought "Finally!!" when the following showed up:

(ok I don't know how to post image so I will text it)

Product Successfully Activated
You have successfully activated the following product(s):
GAME-BF2CC
for your account: simon_tc@hotmail.com

After activating your product, you will need the EA Download Manager application to download your product. If you do not have the EA Download Manager, you can download the application with the provided link bellow. If you already have the EA Download Manager, simply login with your EA account used to activate the product. The EA Download Manager automatically verifies that you are the licensed user of your product, so it must be installed on your PC in order for you to download any product activated.
EA Download Manager System Requirements: Windows XP or Vista, 128 MB RAM, 450 Mhz processor, 1GB HD space (recommended), Internet connection (broadband recommended), Download Size ~16 Megabytes, Reference actual downloaded products for additional requirements

Download the EA Download Manager (http://na.akamai.cdn.ea.com/eamaster...-installer.exe) - (what I did)
Go to My Account (https://activate.ea.com/beslddsubcreate.do#)

All right, I thought. Thought this was finally it, but more to come. The EA Download Manager didn't come up with my product as written. There was an unknown "download" but it was 0 kb and I couldn't start it.

I read in a thread that if you have installed/created various bf2 files and soldiers on different emails the EA Downloading Manager was out of function, but I have only used one email, but I do have three different "persona" at my EA account.

SimoNovaEra (EA-ID) says itself
SimoNovaEra (EA Classic-skærmnavn) - classic screen/display name
SimoNovaEra (BF2 Soldatnavn) - BF2 Soldier name

(I'm danish)

I have tried to set them all as my persona and then logged into the EADownloadingManager again but it was no use.
I feel like I have done more than what a common user would do when having problems with a game, and I got a little upset about EAs confusing system.

- So what do I do now?

//Simon :)

So dedicated COOP servers are now limited to 16 player maps. Yes, the issue has been brought up in a couple of locations around here, but I'm *really* curious if this was by design? This limit was not there in BF2 1.41.

In admin/modules/mm_rcon.py (around line 1534) there is a hard limit that forces ALL gpm_coop mode maps to 16 player maps. I know a lot of mod people have been affected by this, and that those who have full access to their own servers worked around the issue by modifying the python file by hand.

Unfortunately, for most of us who rent our servers we cannot access this file. For good reason I would add in most cases, heh.

But since I can't add this "fix" for this change of behavior, I'd really appreciate knowing if there is any possibility of this change being reconsidered?

Lots of comments/threads out there, but I haven't seen a DICE/EA person directly comment on this particular issue.

Help? I love 32 player coop and I'd really like to offer my server to the community for others that like the bigger maps. I'm sure there are those that would like to have 64 player coop again as well.

Thanks very much,

Never have played much Euroforce and Armored Fury due to the lack of servers and now that patch 1.5 has them for free and servers are running the maps I have come to a conclusion about them.

Their not good enough.

Honestly I don't likethe maps except for Operation Road Rage, that is the only good map these boosters packs have, other than that they are pretty bad and everytime a server changes map to them I leave.

i know BFBC2 will be released soon and most of the devs will be working hard on that but the hardened BF2 players will always be around and its the...

i know BFBC2 will be released soon and most of the devs will be working hard on that but the hardened BF2 players will always be around and its the same guys that made BF1942 a #1 seller so i'm sure a few guys would agree with me on this... i would also like this to be a constructive thread rather than a bashing thread. hopefully we will be rewarded with the appropriate fix's :D

fix's my top gripes with this game...

#1, weapon powers! the biggest let down with BF2 is the weapons stopping power. all the std kit weapons should be upped 15% and the unlocked weapons should be upped 60% with the abilities to atleast knock something down without issues or running out of ammo. with the .50 cal's having a minimum of 4 shot kills on all air craft and small land vehicles, and a 6 shot kill on armor.

#2 hit box's! these really need fixing! unless weapon power is increased to a point that a kill would be in 2 shots and not 5!

#3 grenades! the game has turned into a nade fest simply because the weapons are inadiquate. there should be a maximum of 3 nades per soldier and not recoopable on ammo up. this will force players to use sidearms instead of grenades and make the game playable.

#4 sniper scopes! right click to bring up the sight and right click again to zoom 20% on stock sniper, 50% on unlocked. right click a 3rd time to hip the rifle.

#5 fix what was messed up when 1.5 was released to stop the connection loss ingame.

#6

#7

#8

#9

i left the last 4 blank. for other input.
