i agree with you on isaac talking but not on cutscenes as somebody already pointed out it ruins the atmosphere and as for ure NPC survivors may i remind you and countless others out there that dead space is a SURVIVAL HORROR game, the whole point of it is to make you feel scared isolated and alone which doesnt quite work when you have loads of people around you. i think they should just stick with 1-2 people like in the first game. As for your chainsaw idea may i remind you that we are talking about dead space not gears of war

-Keep the Over the Shoulder view when not aiming your weapon however
when you hold down the button which readies your gun, you switch to a first person view. -Switch to first person view when being grabbed by enemies to get the feeling of a Necromorph up close to your face! -Add conventional weapons (Actually, I don't what Conventional means) like pistols, shotguns, assault rifles and grenades which won't do as much good as mining tools along with melee weapons both improvised for repelling Necromorphs and Mining tools to give 'em hell! That would add something to the game which might up the immersion but I don't know what to call it. -Make the missions open-ended and not so linear such as having to backtrack for missed clues and items in order to figure out a puzzle or strategy to get past a difficult enemy and multiple ways to getting past enemies and completing objectives. -Different choices of how you complete story-specific objectives as well as moral choices affect the ending (Typical Survival Horror aspect) -Loot dropped by necromorphs would be specific to their outfits. Miner slashers would drop plasma chargers, soldiers and security guards drop bullets and civillians may sometimes drop credits. -Random enemy spawn points and item locations to make the gameplay unpredictable. -Four difficulty levels which affect how easily the player character can get killed, how tough, smart and fast Necromorphs are, what objectives take place, amount of random enemy spawn points scattered across the maps and how often dropped loot is found. (Easy, Normal, Hard and Impossible) |

variation in the gameplay style, as killing the same old zombies for 12 levels is a bit repetitive
no isaac speaking or anything like that, that would ruin the illusion and different weapons and better suits and faster isaac

I'd like to see more variation in the types of environments we encounter throughout the game. Nothing too extreme, just a shift in the visual style of the ship as the game progresses so that we can see visible progress.
I think the Necros could do with more variation in their appearance too, so that we could clearly identify the type of person a necro came from (eg: military, scientist, civilian, etc). More complex mission design with a selection of outcomes and more interaction between isaac and his environment like the meteor/mining level. Less linear missions like: "Isaac, you have to fix this, but first you'll have to go here and fix this, but before you can do that you have to collect these three things" Unlockable first person mode. Less elevator travel. More large enemies like the brute that have to be taken out in specific ways. |

I'd like Dead Space 2 to be on a small space colony that gets overrun with the necro's
-It'd be nice if you were still Isaac and i can't see them removing the main protaganist even if you don't play them. -Over the shoulder should be retaned and made to feel as if you are confined -It'd be cool to play with a squad that either A) Gets split up during the game and every now and again meet up with you or B) Similarly to The Thing game where your squad may be infected without your notice and you and them become paranoid about your own squad and them to you. -Some Military standard weapons with small amounts of ammo -Some set piece events like the first game but i'd like a free roaming game and if this was included then id like something similar to the AI director in Left 4 Dead and something ike a Brute that is like the NEMESIS in Resi evil where it pops out every now and again and you have to escape -More variety in enemies, not necessarily larger -Less repetition even if the objective is just to get from A to B i'd like it to be my choice on how to get there -No missions where everythings gone wrong and you have to fix this then fix that -No money or upgrade stations, let us roam the areas and find these weapons and suits -Side Quests -More survivors to interact with -Mass Effect style dialogue would be cool If any of these things were implemented then i would love Dead Space even more!!! And even if they don't include any of these i don't care because it will still be awesome. All i want is just some news on Dead Space 2 release date I.E End of 2010 or early 2011 |

the thing that dead space needs to definately be without is the partner. no other person that can help you in the story the entire game would lose what made it good in the 1st place. it would ruin a sequal and make the line gain a bad rep.

I read somewhere up there ^ about the idea of a sandbox game. I think this could work considering the size of the ships, and you could go wherever you want and choose the mission you want at the time. Also make enemies respawn periodically to gain EXP for your attributes. I dunno, I suppose I HAVE been playing Fallout 3 a lot lately... :\

Personally, I'd like to go to a space station above earth. So how about Isaac reaches earth on his shuttle, and is put into quarantine by the military, coz they don't want anyone to know about the marker. the BAM! the Isimura jumps (or shockpoints, i dunno) into earths orbit. A couple of tugs are sent out and pull it into dock with the station. very soon you have a station full of new necromorphs! yippie! also, you should be enemies with he military, as they don't want anyone to know about the marker. and P-sec are on your team, and you should be able to grapple enemies, enabling a few different attacks, like rapidly clicking left would punch them, while right would pull on their arms, pulling them off if they were necromorphs, and e just pushes em away. you have your suit taken away at the beginning, but you incapacitate a soldier and take his suit, a basic military one. I think this game should be centered around military stuff, rather that mining.
also, there are cutscenes in the game, at the end, when he gets into the shuttle. some of those in the game would be nice. The only one I can think of happening would be when he gets a military suit. that's pretty much it for now, cya. |

-I disagree with the idea of a sandbox game, this would make the story far less engaging.
-They should keep the current pick-up system that helps you survive by giving you what you need most -First-person would not work with Dead Space -Multiplayer? How would that work? You are alone firstly and how would the dismemberment (key element to the game I think) possibly function in multiplayer. |

I seriously want to win the game then be given like an AK or a friggin shotty or something. Also, they better give us a horde mode where we have unlimited ammo and we are stuck on a weird part of the moon or mars and its dark and the moon is shining down and a lalalala load of these necros are running after me.

yeah the boltgun snds a insane idea love it, also keep the health meter that was great idea having no hud made the game much more real and didnt detract you atall. dnt like the idea of cutscenes atall tho, wenever theres a cutscene u can sit back and chill, thats not what dead space is about lol, also what about some of the crazy people u meet atualy atacking you? that would make it much more scarier for me like the people of bioshock they freak me out more than necros do would be good to have a few of them lieng around. in response to random backwash there is already a room like that rember when u go to the ships bridge? u got all the meteors and stuff fying around, but year i no what u mean a room where u can gaze into space would be good. what about a better flame thrower too, and also the guy who mentioned about the chaisaw thing theres already the ripper, ha ha lalalala a lightsaber would be pretty lollz go with the kinesis thing ha ha

I like the idea of a "free world" sort of game. Like GTA, but not entire cities, but like a space shuttle. Also, I'd like more varied necro's, like more types (sort of like the Chimera, in Resistance). And depending on what you do, like killing someone instead of letting him live, the story turns out different. And different necro's everytime you play the mission/level, to up the re-playability.

1. More creepy events, like 1st level when coming back from repairing the tram a shadow passes in front of you of a necro but nothing is there when you go back to look.
2. Specialized and rare munitions for weapons. examples. Incendiary ammo for Pulse Rifle, Fragmenting shells for Force Cannon(aka shotgun), Contact Beam chaining hits, Armor piercing Loads for Cutter Pistol(shooting through multiple enemies) 3. Breakable doors, and barricades 4. Unique tools A welder to seal a door or barricade A remote antigrav scout tool Laser trip mines or some kind of remote detonation pack. Portable sentry weapon that can be placed or stuck to a wall for temporary area security. Guided missile launcher, either Camera or wire guided. Liquid Nitrogen or cryogenic ranged weapon that allows you to shatter the enemy. A temporary melee upgrade that allows critical hits for a brief period. 5. Hackable pads and doors with an elaborate system of bypassing wires/circuitry Last edited by Mister_D; 19-10-2009 at 05:27 PM.. |
