Hello. I have FINALLY figured out how to get by the asteroid field in Level 4. I realized that the one thing that was stopping me from being able to destroy all of the asteriods I needed to was lack of mouse movement. So here's what you do:
Turn your PC's resolution down to the LOWEST available in the game, which is 640 x 480 60HZ (not sure if the 60HZ will matter). After I did this, moving the mouse was SUBSTANTIALLY easier and I was shooting asteroids like ducks in a pond! I was able to get by the first time with a shield integrity of over 40%! YES! After the cut scene, go back and save and crank up the resolution again. After a WEEK of dying on this screen, I am moving on! Let me know if I helped you, Dead Space lovers! |

If your reducing your resolution to 640x480 it means that your PC hardware/graphics card is really weak and can't cope with higher resolution which is why its causing lag thus your unable to play properly.
640x480 is a really really bad resolution all looks ugly. The images look scratched and watered out with paint ![]() Get a stronger graphics card and you will feel that it is much smoother and you'll be shooting asteroids like ducks too!
