Default Keyboard control problems

I am left handed and use the arrow keys to move about in games. Dead space has locked these keys to RIG navigation. What's that all about? Surely I am responsible enough to decide which keys will do what? They have even locked the numpad arrows to the RIG and are trying to get me to use WASD for movement which is totally alien to me and renders the game unplayable. what gives guys? When can we expect a patch that opens up FULL control configuration?

Default Control problem

I didn't expect that an EA games has that type of problem but it doesn't support to change keyboard control.

I'm left handed at leat 25 years and I can't change that, but EA wants from me exactly this.

Default You think you have problems

I consistently reconfigure all games to use the mouse and button 1 for movement, that way I almost never need to backup but I can still strafe with a and d. But to start having to use my left hand to steer Isaac? I am getting killed just trying to turn to face the monsters, if they don't fix this I might as well give this game away!

Happy New Year one and all

Now that's out of the way please would EA make some official statement regarding a patch for this game

We have all been extremely patient waiting for some response, but enough is enough - do the decent thing and tell us whether you are just going to take the money and run or help those people out there with problems with what could be a great game (if it was supported properly)

Moan over - I'm going to have a drink to calm my nerves

Default This might help too

I was able to edit the WASD to the arrow keys using this method:

KennyNet » Dead Space with Arrow Keys!

I still use glovepie, but only to make my "sprint" key toggle. Now I can set it to always run without having to hold down the key.

:-)

Default Keyboard trouble

I wish that I had read these pages before buying the game, because it is now going back tomorrow! Good one EA.

No mate, EA would never take the money and run; they will use it to develop the Wii port/prequel.

Don't feel too bad about throwing money away. I was impressed when I first saw the game on PSP. Deeming the control scheme unplayable, I decided to buy it on PC, just so I could configure controls. Go figure, I now own 2 $50 coasters.
