I didn't put that much thought into it for number 6, it asked for phlanges, not fingers, so I took it to mean how many digits remain on her hands, /shrug.

Maybe it somehow represents a phrase:
_ / _ _ _ _ / _ _ _ _ / _ _ _ _ / _ _ / _ _ _ _ _

Default Correct Answers

1. Corporation ID= CEC
2. Ship ID= Ishimura
3. Marker Contact Time Elapse = 200 years
4. Planetcrack subject= Aegis 7
5. Unitologist mantra= Altman be praised
6. P-Sec Gauthier Phalanges Intact= 7
7. Dangerous tool, injured Stanley= Line Cutter
8. Decoded ORF message= !No Idea!

Trust me they are all correct just don't have a clue on number 8 at all.
By the way don't add in speech or quotation marks as they do not work.

They're all from the animated comics - see GameTrailers

If u look closely at the papers there looks like a faint letter written in red next to some of the symbols. One is a P on the last report and the other looks like a C on the 5th one. I tried to translate the symbols into letters but so far no luck.

P / _ _ _ C / _ _ _ _ / _ _ _ _ / P _ / _ P _ _ C

Maybe the Decoded ORF message is: "The marker will set us free". I'm not sure though. Its just that all of the ones who have psych problems scribble it on the bedroom walls.

Jorgen88: seen, but it doesn't make a phrase in English.
Riprie: doubt it, but let us know how you get on...

1 letter word is probably either I or A
=>
I / _ _ _ _ / _ _ _ _ / _ _ _ _/ I _ / _ I _ _ _
or
A / _ _ _ _ / _ _ _ _ / _ _ _ _ / A _ / _ A _ _ _

given this, there are 2 more repeated strings:
1 / _ _ _ 2 / _ _ _ _ / _ _ 3 1 / 1 3 / _ 1 3 _ 2

1=A|I
=> 3=(N|S|T|)|(F|N|S|T)

Assuming above, then statistically 2(probably)=E:
_ / _ _ _ E / _ _ _ _ / _ _ _ E / _ _ / _ _ _ _ E

bleh. i'm drunk. my brain hurts. help?

Just to mention, it is not morse code, nor is it binary, I tried both with up/down as dot/dash or 1/0 and vice-versa and neither makes sense.

Default Four to six weeks!? :(

What sucks about the contest is that if you win, it says in the "Official Rules" section that you'll have to wait four to six weeks for delivery. That seems strange knowing that the people that are involved in this contest are the hardcore fans that are going to want this game the day it comes out (October 21st), which is only one week after the contest ends (October 14th). Would you be willing to wait until somewhere between November 11th and November 25th to get the game free?

Well, I'm still going to try to figure the answers out... lol.

I counted those "fingers".
On the sheet there are:
1 sheet-5
2 s.- 20
3 s.- 20
4 s.- 20
5 s.- 10
6 s.- 25
If you put this all together it is 100 fingers ;']
If you will change numbers into letter, there will be ETT TJY (1-a, 2-b)
If you google this- "ETT TJY ORF" you will get some interesting things about DNA and ORF. But I dont know how could it help us...

8 is really hard......

but 6 = 7, just tried it.

And 8 has something to do with the reports you can hear, where a doctor records his talks with the patients.

I thought it was "george save me", which you can hear in the end of the number two. but I now have 23 hours and 45 minuts till I can try again..

I beg to Differ Tried all the following and was correct:

1. CEC
2. Ishimura
3. 200 Years
4. Aegis 7
5. Altman Be Praised
6. 7
7. Line Cutter
8.??????????????????????? Still working on it

Any idears, is it form, as someone wrote before this one.
Maybe F stands for files. As in Organ Replacement Files. Those would be the files with the red finger marks on them.

Default ORF Encoded Message

ORF stands for Organ Request Forms. So ORF Encoded Message has to be related to the red finger things on the files.

It's possible that we may not be able to fully decode the ORF until more of the comics become available.

It is also likely that the decoding is NOT in reference to the red markings.

On another note, if you look at the signatures for observing staff, only the ones for Billings and Gauthier are the same. This may have some relevance? Also it is possible that the location of the red markings is significant too.

This is highly unlikely because if you look at the leaderboards, it looks like other people have gotten a lot more points and the only way they did it is by answering all the questions correctly on the first try.

In addition, the puzzles are meant to be solved on Day 1 since you will get less points for every day that passes. I think it's 2 less points per day.

Well I tried a 5 Digit Binary thing and got
QMPROFPBEM IOIM-1H

So that failed miserably.

Also I think I screwed my chances when I first did it and just entered jibberish in thinking it'd just tell me I was lalalalalalaed or something, didn't realise it was a contest lol

The very first time I entered Altman was ''praise'' instead of ''praised''... I've got a excuse, I'm french! lol Still in the top 100 anyway.

I'm going to share my thoughts on #8 because I've been trying for the better half of 2 days to come up with something.

What we know so far:
/
ORF can stand for a number of things. OPEN READING FRAME/ORGAN REPLACEMENT FILES...etc

...that's pretty much all we know lol.

Here's where I come in.

I'm thinking, the red markers on each file are the bottoms of different chromosomes. Take a look at this picture of the human kareotype:

http://homepages.uel.ac.uk/V.K.Sieber/solidktp.jpg

Now, a standard human has 46 chromosomes, which means there would be 92 chromatin strands.

So...we know there's 100 strands on all the pages. Where did the other 8 strands come from?

Well, I was watching the web comics, and it hit me at the end of issue 4. MARLA says she has cracked the code. The DNA from the marker is RECOMBINANT. See recombinant here:

Recombinant DNA - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This means that when the bodies are dead, the DNA from the marker reacts to the body and changes the amount of chromosomes, basically birthing a new species in the process. Since every species in the world has different amounts of chromosomes, it makes sense because they made up the new species, so they can control how many chromosomes it has.

The Recombinant DNA changes genes on the plasmid, which can be successfully recombined into the DNA to produce changes. I guess more chromosomes is one of these changes.

I wasn't aware that you need to be a full time BIOLOGIST to get these prizes. That's just stupid. (I'm not a full time biologist by the way, just taking what I learned in school lol).

What are your thoughts? This still brings me no closer to what secret message is on the ORF. I've already tried the word "recombinant" and it was wrong. I haven't tried "recombinant DNA" though. Someone else wanna give it a shot?

Anyway, I think I've done a better job explaining how these creatures came to exist, instead of finding out what the answer to #8 is lol.
