Manager mode ECC doesn't work right

everytime i play manager mode i go rangers and in the seasos i get to the last 16 of the champions league i get a hard team like liverpool or barca and when i play the first game i win or draw so when i go onto the next game i only need a draw and the i says i dont have enough players when all my players are fit and not suspened or anything

ps im always on course to get to the finals

any one know why this happens because i get sick of my rep always going done
