Heres why Rooney is better
When loses the ball -Rooney will chase.. Ronaldo will put hands on hips
When Losing -Rooney will defend.. Ronaldo will just stand around waiting for the ball
When attacking- Ronaldo will run on his own, going for glory.. Rooney will pass and run trying to work a goal.
When winning- Rooney tries for more goals.. Ronaldo dances around the ball
When the ball doesnt get to them -Again Rooney will chase.. Ronaldo throws his hands up in the air

Football isnt all about goals. Its about determination. Ronaldo has none. Rooney has buckets full

Is that enough evidence for you

All you said there was that Rooney tried harder.

Would Ronaldo be able to do that inured ?
I greatly doubt it. He would be sat on the floor crying.
For god's sake, I watched that goal live. He wasn't really that injured.

And anyway. How hard was it to score. Carvalho gave him the ball by mistake with no one left to beat.

couldnt agree more im an everton fan but i have to admit ronaldo i dont like his attitude but as a player he is an amazing player, rooney for me isnt being played in the right position and for me is being overshadowed by ronaldo. but saying that someone said that rooney isnt a big a moaner as ronaldo, yes he is as he always moans and argues with refs...

to the everton fan i think rooney for me should of stayed at goodison one more season but look at how well we have done since he left rooney wasnt that much of a team player at everton compared to him at man utd...

if rooney is to get better then fergie needs to be playing him for me behind the 2 front 2 attackers and for me that is rooneys best postion, not on the wings but central..

What I think is funny, is that if you look at these threads in a years time the argument will be totally different. Imagine Rooney scores something ridiculous like 10 goals in the first 8 games, everyone will be back on here saying "OMGZOR why is Rooney under-rated!!!! He's scored more than Ronaldo!!!!!!!111111" (example case, look at Arsenal last year. Who would have predicted Adebayor having such an explosive start to the season?)

You can't rate players and change their overall on form, you've got to look at their individual stats, rate them fairly, and don't really care what the overall comes out at. IMO, Rooney's overall stats should be higher than Ronaldo's. Rooney's stats are based on him being a striker, so he would get a high overall. Ronaldo's are based on him being a winger, so if you give him good finishing attributes that wont affect his overall rating, and if you give him, in my opinion fairly, lower passing attributes, that will lower his overall as a winger. (His assists werent all that great last season, he's too greedy)

In that situation, Ronaldo might play on the game better than Rooney does, but his overall will be lower.

Ronaldo was alsways better than Rooney though. English just always create heroes for nothing. To look the best.

Just look at Wimbledon. England were hoping that Andy Murray would win even though he's Scottish. So they called him British.

Rooney just does a job well, so they say hes better than Ronaldo. Rooney is one of the worlds best finishers and long range shooters, but everyone says it extends to ball control. (His being very poor in real life). And oter statistics like speed.

All Rooney can do is shoot and volley well.

Ronaldo can score from any position, and outside England people knew this was going to happen. For him to be the best in the world. And he is right now. But you all once again for this and that say Rooney is better.
And every single post in Rooney's favour is just saying Ronaldo whinges and Rooney tries harder.

The problem with you English is you are to used to your supremacy but now everyone outranks you in everything. Argentina is higher up even in Rugby in Tennis than you are now.

Have a look at Rooney's close control in Euro 2004, against France, Croatia and Portugal if you think it's that poor. Rooney is a harder worker than Ronaldo, there's no debating that.

Oh my god... Do you all actually think that Rooney is the best in the world?

So stupid how you English still go on about the 66 world cup.
How you didn't change the laws of rugby when you won the 2003 world cup
How you idolise every English player that is good. Rooney is just a marketing asset.

Everyone knows that your culture is inward looking. At wimbledon your players sucked so you idolised that scottish guy. Rooney never was better than Ronaldo.

He's not going to win you a tournament.

He would have no place in the Brazilian or Argentine national team.

No one wants to buy him.

He's plain average, all you want to see is a game that tells you England are the best team in the world and that Rooney is the best player.

The only thing I can say about him is that he is a world class finisher and works hard.

But stop overrating him lol. There are atleast ten strikers in the world better than him.

wat more can u ask for
united are a completly different team without him, the only game we lost with rooney this season was against chelsea wer he scored and was injured every other loss he was missing.
not going to say he is better then ronaldo but most united fans prefer rooney because of his attitude and work rate, something which is far superior to ronaldo's. i might be a bit bias tho because im not really one of ronaldo's fans, never really liked him for being a lazy lalalalalalalala

Rooney is a hard worker, a great finisher and has a never say die attitude. I also cannot see him acting the way Ronaldo is over this Real Madrid rubbish. In fact, speaking of Real, this injury to Ronaldo may be a blessing in disguise, as their interest will surely drop now he's injured and they migh sod off and buy someone else instead of Ronaldo!
