I found the limits with Riva Tuner 2.09 (although it needs an update to fully support GT200 cards) and after that, I flashed the new clocks in the BIOS. The card is voltage modded as well, but it seems to be very cooling-sensitive at high frequencies/voltages. I suppose I could squeeze some more overclock from it if I could cool it better. These for the core/shader clock. The memory overclocks to 2754 MHz rock-solid with stock voltage. I don't know if I just got lucky or if this is a typical memory overclock for these cards, but never before did I have a video memory with so highly overclockable memory.

Just C1E is disabled; thermal control and virtual are on. Doesn't make any difference. For me the only thing that stabilised the FSB overclock was higher northbridge voltage. No PLL, VTT or GTL voltages made any difference. What I'm about to try now is the 400 FSB CPU mod, as an attempt to get 500 FSB stable.

Well the Striker II Extreme has a different Northbridge that was meant to improove the overclockability and performance over the 780. But, although I love both its performance and overclockability, I can't get rid of the data corruption problem that sometimes causes a system freeze, other times it can't detect my SATA drives and others it just displays the RAID ACCESS FAILURE message. All these are not overclocking related. It is pretty sad but I'm seriously considering to switch to a P45 or X48 board.

BTW, it is weird if you can't OC the FSB at all. Maybe there are some FSB holes. Did if it works at higers FSBs, eg setting the FSB directly to 401. That's what I had to do with the P5B Deluxe to overcome the 360~370 FSB wall.

youve a Q6 quad core, he has a Q9, BIG difference in overclocking potential.

Yes ov course, i think you have miss understood, my qx6850 will not fsb oc on this MB only Multiplier but will on others. the QX9 also is an extreme with an unlocked Multi, he may have had a simmilar issue as he also has a asus striker II although mines a formula.

But hey im not bothered now anyway as i use the multi, this way i dont have to alter the Northbridge voltage hence my super cool system, MB is at 26 degrees and CPU at 28idle and have gained 1000 3Dmark06 with a mild OC 3.333mhz 17389. Currently top on futuremark ( well with the same config and settings lol) OC to 3.66 and get 18301, i must be doing summet right

Default physX in crysis warhead

hey i wonder if crysis warhead will use physX, if so they will be no need to oc a prossessor, because if CUDA is used then the load will be passed on to the GPU.

If so it would be worth getting a second GPU to run the physX like a 9600gt, which would run faster than any CPU would, i wonder

WILL CPUS FOR GAMING BECOME THING OF THE PAST

if all new games and apps support cuda then bye bye fast cpus, they will be no need for em
