Not surprised, I was taken in by the hype and bought Crysis. Crap game, looked good but gameplay was very poor. Didn't even finish the game and it now sits on the desk gathering dust.
On the other hand, bought 2142 a year ago, has loads of bugs, caused me to wipe my system loads of times and has lots of punkbuster issues, but I play it to death, why? Excellent online gameplay thats why. Crysis was just one big letdown. Nothing to do with piracy as lets be honest practically all games are pirated, and more to do with the fact they designed crysis to run on high end machines which most people dont have, so sales were poor. Thats this old gits view anyways ![]() Last edited by bluebaldybob; 07-06-2008 at 12:42 PM. |

its not really piracy it is the fact crytek are currently producing 3 new games and they dont have the time or money to patch up crysis one of the games that they are currently making is the crysis sequel crysis warheadwhich will also be a pc exclusive

They are expansions, and add more to the game, but if you don't have the original game then you just get the new stuff. But as for Crysis Warhead, I think its more of a semi-sequel than an expansion. Well. Kinda. Especially if its standalone. As for Crytek's whining about piracy, they're pretty stupid if thats what they think caused lower sales than expected. How about the fact that almost nobody can run the game? Or the fact that a lot of people were put off by the demo? Or that people didn't want to buy it at all? Or that the multiplayer sucked? For the record I have a retail version of the game and enjoyed playing through it. I just wish PC devs would stop complaining about piracy and look at the real issues concerning their games. it has been announced by crytek that it is a standalone expansion pack as it can be played without the original crysis installed but it is not a sequel as it is not part of crysis trilogy it is in fact a different perspective from the original crysis and a chance to explore the other side of the island that was in crysis

hang on EA do have a say in the matter as they are the publisher and therefore want the game done or sent out by a specific date. Your forgetting it is EA that pays crytek and not crytek themselves as they are only developers not publishers
