Default Crysis won't start

Running: intel core i7, Nvidia Geforce 260 GTX, Vista x64

Crysis was downloaded via EADM.

Firstly Crysis won't start under the 64 bit exe, which is annoying seeing as I'm able to run it. It just says "Wrong disc inserted, please insert the original crysis cd/dvd." So I was wondering if anyone knows how to rectify that issue.

Secondly since EADM automatically updated the other day I now can't even run the 32 bit exe because EADM pops up with "The game cannot start. In order to launch this game please login to the EA download manager to verify your ownership, then try again." even though I am logged in.

Hi, I would suggest contacting EA support as they will be able to help you.

Turn off user account control from your user accounts settings, then try to play the game.

Infact I ordered recently the EA Classics version of Crysis, I have absolutely no problems, yesterday it arrived.

Try downloading the latest patches for Crysis to see if you can run the game.

Here it is Index of /pub/patches/Crysis download and install all patches one by one and see if it resolves your issues.
I don't have problems though, I have Vista 32-bit.

lol i have been playing Crysis EADM version for months. Yesterday i got an error message telling me i'd gone over my install limit and i was only allowed 3 concurrent liscences at any one time. I didn't even re-install the game so EADM has no reason to think i have used up my install limit.

Like the guy above all i did was update EADM and BAM!! Crysis and Battlefield 2142 Deluxe no longer let me play. EADM will ALWAYS be second best to Steam because Steam resents and avoids DRM bull* as often as possible.

If the DRM was like EA's newer games and had an activation removal tool then it would function fine... or at least it would if it didn't steal all ur liscences every time EADM updates itself!

I emailed EA support and some mexican dude named Raul replied. All he did was link me to a page in the database describing the error code. I already knew what that did anyway! Talk about unhelpful!

I've been told that a fix was deployed on Friday for this particular issue, please let me know if you still have this problem.

So you reckon that on Friday there will be a new Crysis patch getting released to fix issues like that?

Is it a patch mainly to fix it so that Crysis works properly on Vista x64 and Windows 7, or will there be other issues fixed in the game as well?

I personally haven't experienced any issues so far with the game in anyway such as loading up, etc, maybe because I use Vista 32-bit.

But then again I see no reason why it shouldn't work with 64-bit windows either.

The patch was for the EA Download Manager, it wasn't a Crysis-specific patch.

Well lets hope they get rid of the EADM's DRM coz quite frankly its a pathetic mess.

Games like Crysis and Battlefield 2142 have DRM's on the EADM version's of the games when the DVD versions do not. Why stick a DRM on such old games anyway??

Wasn't it Einstein who onces said: 'Only two things are infinate; the universe and EA's stupidity. The latter i am unsure of.'

I haven't been able to play these games for a week now so lets hope they get it sorted once and for all

Well, the results from EA tech support are in and lets just say i'll NEVER buy a EADM game again. They frakked me over big time. After waiting 2 weeks to get Crysis re-activated, all they did was delete every vestige of the game from my EA account then give me a new game code so i could re-download. But they didn't give me the Crysis Limited Edition version i paid for. Nope... they gave me the standard version which costs less money.

Why the idiot at tech support didn't just give my original copy more activations i cannot fathom... and this was Tier 3 tech support!
