We don't know about that, yet.
Crysis 2 is a long, long way away. Its going to be released on July 2010, that's about a year from now on.

But the graphics on both the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions will be more inferior than the PC.
PC will remain the biggest hit when it comes down to Crysis.
Unlike EA, Crytek give more priority to PC gamers.
So your best bet would be to get a strong PC by then!

Oh and as for custom maps well I don't know whether the consoles have the options to mod and patch the game.

However Crysis Warhead on PC ofcourse has the option to play custom maps. The game Crysis Wars in particular where you can play custom maps such as the Heli_Derby. That game consists of helicopter battling and firing! And it is a very destructible environment!

The adrenaline in that map as well as others are immense!

No. Crysis 2won't have a map editor on the console versions. The map creator is far too robust and complicated for the console audience.

Absolutely correct!
Yes, map editing wouldn't be possible in neither the Xbox 360 or the PS3.
Only the PC gives us those advantages because you can mod and patch-up on the PC. Where as on the Console you can't do these things.

However, it is now confirmed that Crysis 2 will be developed on the PS3 and Xbox 360 console, but graphics wise it will be more inferior than the PC version due to its outdated graphics cards.

I've never actually played crysis before, not being able to afford a £8 billion PC and all. So yes, I am anticipating the console release.

You don't need a very expensive PC to play Crysis.
Crysis would work perfectly on a lowend £300 PC but on low resolution such as 640x480 lol.

All you need is a strong graphics card. I bought the Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 4890 OC Edition and it runs Crysis maxed out at 1920x1200 resolution with no lag.
And I only spent about £500 on my PC.
Some people do exaggerate that you need an expensive gaming PC. That's not really true.
Yes its expensive if you get an Intel Core i7 extreme overclocked and 2x Nvidia GTX 295, etc then it will cost loads of money.
But you don't need to spend for a core i7 processor.

I bought my PC for only £380 with Intel Core 2 Quad, 3GB of RAM from PC World. I only added a £179.99 ATI Radeon HD 4890 OC. It all adds up to a total of £560!! That is bloody cheap for a build up gaming PC.

Besides that Crysis 2 will have better graphics on the PC than it would on the Consoles.

That's why the original Crysis and Warhead game aint available on the PS3 and Xbox 360. Because the Consoles have outdated graphics cards which can't render high detail like it can do with a PC.

All you need for a PC is a graphics card. A £200 graphics card will run all the games in the world maxed out!

The cheap PCs come with weak graphics cards that's why they can't run games properly. Like I said I bought mine for £380 but the graphics card in it was very weak. So I bought the 4890 OC card separately and installed it and it all ran perfect!

lt's no good getting a top of the range card if the PSU is not strong enough to run it as well as the other component in the case when gaming, the user will be running in all sort of problems.

All top of the range cards normally have 430W required.

This is a good example of the card l have. rubbing it in.

XFX Radeon HD 5850 System Requirements
  • PCI Express or PCI Express 2.0 compliant motherboard with one X16 graphics slot
  • 500 Watt or greater power supply with two 75W 6-pin PCI Express® power connectors recommended (600 Watt and four 6-pin connectors for ATI CrossFireX™ technology in dual mode)
  • Certified power supplies are recommended.
  • Minimum 1GB of system memory

I still prefer consoles. The games are plug and play, its allot cheaper and you don't get those problems that the PC versions get that take ages of scrolling through forums and websites to fix.

I know, I deliberately avoided mentioning the power supply so that the price doesn't add up so high, lol.

I have a 4890 OC card and am very happy with it. I bought the Corsair 850Watt TX PSU from ebuyer. It now runs crysis perfectly smooth.
And I am so addicted to it. I mean its still more fun than COD MW2!

Well, your going to miss out on the graphics, hehe.
You won't have problems if you buy £200 graphics card and have a good processor such as an intel core 2 duo or an intel core 2 quad processor.
It will work perfectly with no problems at all.

I upgraded to a new GPU some 4 months ago. Before that I had an Nvidia 8600GT and it was utterly weak. It could hardly run games at 1024x768 resolution.
Now I have the 4890 OC card and I am so impressed, running every game in the world at 1920x1200 resolution with no problems at all.

I don't need a Console after that, definitely not!

Makes sense.

Buying a good PSU is a must, when l brought mine l went overkill 1000 Watts Galaxy, l was running in crossfire at the time not any more now.

not being able to afford a £8 billion PC and all.

a bit excessive that. by the time it comes out you could get a decent PC wi a mid range graphics card, for about £350-£500(same price as 360/ps3 when they came out) and the graphics will still be better than console.

Agreed.
Well I bought the Sapphire 4890 OC Edition about a few months ago for as little as £179.99. I did mention it before in my previous posts.

That is so much more better value for money than a console since graphics are amazing, unlike consoles graphics.

Plus getting an extra gaming mouse helps immensely, especially with FPS games such as Crysis.
Can't imagine to use a gamepad for that.
Even if I had an Xbox 360 or a PS3 I would not buy Crysis 2 for it!!!

Not only because of the inferior graphics but because of the fact that I am helpless to use a gamepad only. Being stuck to play using a gamepad only is like a blinds eye.

Crysis 2 would be more designed for a PC than a Console! Not just for the graphics. But Keyboard and Mouse is very, very important when it comes to FPS games!
Console gamers don't realise the significants of using a keyboard and a mouse!

Last year I bought a Quad Core PC for £380. Gradually over the months I bought a 24 inch monitor, graphics card, gaming mouse, etc and now I couldn't be any happier than that!

I wouldn't buy a console after this much difficulty in upgrading. But I'll say one thing, "this difficulty in upgrading was rewarding"!

I upgraded my pc last January and am glad I done so. My old rig would not have run crysis well at all. Investing in a pc capable of playing crysis, which was released as a pc exclusive to my knowledge was worth while.

The helicopters in crysis are destructable, but a pain in the butt to be polite, and using a joypad to play crysis I wouldn't and it would be fun if anyone did. I prefer keyboard and mouse.

I know that upgrading to as high a specification pc as possible is essential especially for crysis.

Crysis 2 has been confirmed for pc and I am wondering if it will have the same support for multiple cores as the rest of them.

The date I was given is 24 September 2010.
