Default Crysis reduced price

I tried to purchase Cryis on EA web-site last night. It was reduced to £19.99. However, when I proceeded it becane £29.99 in my 'basket'.

Anyone any idea how I can get reduced price. Perhaps someone reading this can sort it out?

Thanks,
Dave

I've tried to contact EA but that just doesn't work. Before sending an email required dropdowns etc don't function. Hopeless!

I can't even think of imagining to purchase a game from EA stores!
Get it from here very cheap as little as £13.69 brand new.
Play.com (UK) : Crysis : PC Games - Free Delivery

Thanks BLaZiNgSPEED. I saw the price at Play.com but that's from 3rd party sellers. Perhaps I'll buy it there anyway.

TBH paying £19.99 from EA isn't worth it, I doubt you will find it retailwise new cheap because warhead is out and theyre now pushing this:

Crysis: Maximum Edition - PC Games - GAME.co.uk

Game and play both have it for £25

Alternatively if you JUST want crysis: steam has it for £16.99

I mean if your a crysis gamer you either have Crysis or Crysis Warhead.

In this case it would be utterly useless to buy Crysis Maximum, because you'll know that if you had for example crysis and you wanted for example to add warhead to your shelve then just buy crysis warhead.

If you buy the Crysis Maximum edition then your wasting money, its like buy 1 get one free. But your going to have 2 copies of the same game.

Crysis Maximum is only suitable for those who have never owed/played neither Crysis or Crysis Warhead, for them this is areal bargain to have both of them in one price!
As for Crysis its much cheaper in play than it is from steam Play.com (UK) : Crysis : PC Games - Free Delivery

What's the point in downloading it from steam when you can get the game in your hands and install the DVD directly? Its hassle free!
As for crysis warhead you can buy it from play.com again £14.99 unfortunetly at the moment its temporarily out of stock but you can purchase it from amazon. Play.com (UK) : Crysis: Warhead : PC Games - Free Delivery

In other words if you don't have crysis or warhead and you want both then buy maximum edition since its better value for money!

Thanks everyone. In the end I bought Maximum Edition from Game (highstreet store). It was priced at £19.99 on shelves but came up £29.99 at till. They sold it to me at the cheaper price & took the other copy off the shelf so probably mis-priced!

I'm new to gaming & to be honest I do find downloaded games (eg Mirror's edge) preferable than having a physical disc to insert every time it's played - especially with children who might damage disc (unless there's a way around this - mounting an iso image perhaps?).

Nice, someone probably coded 29.99 in as its a new release and thats standard price for PC titles (even though this is meant to be cheap).

You could try making an ISO image of the game and mounting it although you are likely going to end up triggering the "copy protection" and you will need a nodvd patch/replacement file.

Some games have replaced the copy protection (i.e keep disc in drive) with DRM (digital rights management) where you are given limited activations and the game automatically activates over the net. Theres been recent uproar over this as the system is generally unfair to people with multiple pc's or those who format/reinstall their OS for whatever reason at all because you lose the activation and eventually run out of them. Then you have to contact EA support and hope the person understands what you are asking (most the time they don't) etc.

The other alternative is digital distribution, stuff like EA store, steam, impulse and so on.

Again theres pros and cons to each of these services, generally the best and most widely accepted one is steam, however in the UK you don't get EA games (crysis and warhead are up there though and i think warhead still keeps the activation based drm), which is some what crazy, it can be worked around by having someone in the USA gift the games to you though, EU or ireland works too but the price is generally far higher.

My words of warning against EA Store is this: EA download manager is somewhat unreliable, it can even cause instability in games. Also purchases still include the DRM and are also subject to additional fee after 6 months if you want to redownload your game (probably then again after 2 years since you can only extend for 2 years), EA Store is just about the only place which does this. Also preordering on it is rubbish.
