Crysis and EA download manager problem

I bought crysis through ea's online store, i leave it to download last night get up this morning and install it, i then go to play it and to my surprise it says'' The game can not start, in order to launch this game, please login to the EA download manager to verify your ownership, then try again.''
So i launched the download manager, login to it, then launch crysis and it says the same thing.
If anyones got any solutions please share as i dont really want to go out and buy the game again because EA bent me over the chair again.
I think i will stop buying games by EA as this has happened with every one of there games.
On a side note if EA dont sort out this mess i think ill take legal action as its getting pathetic now, you play a game once then cant play it again because some stupid problem, they should advertise that all there games are one play time only as nearly all EA games ive got on the pc i havent been able to play more than once, which to me is another shafting from EA aswell as robbery.

Same problem for me, with both Hellgate and Crysis. I wonder if there's a server issue, and if so, where we could find out about the status? Major PITA... Never had this sort of problems with Steam! ............ fung0.

I am sorry to hear that you are having problems getting your game running, Dysehunter.

Have you contacted EA Support or Customer Service at EA Store? They are likely to be in the best position to advise you.

I have contacted customer support many times but there response is the same everytime, May we have your DxDiag file, i give it to them and they respond with information that has no relevance to the situation, im just getting really peeved off with them.
I suppose this sort of thing is bound to happen when you out source to places like india and china, im not racist but everyone knows they dont exactly win customer service of the year awards do they.

You are not alone,
I paid for the Battle Field 2 complete collection yesterday, and it simply does not work. Downloaded the 3.5GB, activated the keycode, and it installs but won't run. It gives me what EA says are "known errors" yet none of their solutions work. Their support consists of repetitive form emails, whith the same solutions that do not work over and over.

I have told them if they do not mail me a working hardcopy by close of business Monday, I will dispute charges for a defective product on my credit card. i should have just bought in the local store, this download system is pure and unadulterated rubbish. In my opinion it borders on fraud.

Shame on you EA, for wasting the time and money of gamers everywhere with you ill-conceived download system.

Same here... I'm in the desert so our satlink speed is lalalala so I don't try to play online but logged in EA Download Manager and try to play in single (Hellgate: london).
So the question is: if I can log into EA Download Manager why it couldn't be identify my copy on their website???
WHY THE HELL CAN'T PLAY OFFLINE IN SINGLE MODE ????

(Hell, better download a pirate copy and problem is solved.)

i'm having the exact same problem except for with one of the Sims games. I've emailed costumer support but it looks like theres no hope for finding a solution then i guess, huh?

Hey, I have the same problem with both Crysis and Madden NFL 2008 for the PC [in a moment of weakness i purchased the latter so I could play with custom rosters for 2009].

The same error message pops up for me on my home desktop, but not for my laptop, which was the computer I originally installed it on.

Additionally, the download manager worked for Crysis prior to my having to reformat my hard drive and thus reinstall crysis. After the second install, I can no longer launch crysis. So I am wondering if the problem is related to multiple installs / multiple computers using the same login name.

Have you done multiple installs / used ea download manager on multiple computers?

I wrote tech support too, hope I fair better.

I Pre-Ordered Spore Creature Editor much earlier today (day of release) and despite having filled out my order, nothing happened. "Ho-ho", says I, realizing for the first time that THIS is the reason I never thought digital distribution was a good idea. I thought (correctly, as it turned out) that all i'd need to do was wait untill it became available. I downloaded the trial in the meantime.

later, I recieved the email stating that my order was ready to download, but I'd need to download the "EADM" to do so. "well", thinks I, "I do REALLY want that Spore Creature Creator, and this is the only way to do it!" so I downloaded it. It opened, and the download seemed to begin. certainly a bar began to fill up. when full, I clicked "Play".

The game started, and i sat back, already dreaming of the menagerie of freaks I'd soon be able to create.

THEN I noticed that the game that was starting was the Trial version.

the FREE trial version, that I'd already Downloaded.

And unless there's another explanation that I'm just dying to be told, the FREE trial version that I've just been charged £4.99 for.

I want answers, frankly. And i have very little faith in the EA customer support service's ability to help me.

Apologies for the novel of a post, but I'm not too happy about this.

Bah, you're lucky you got that far.
I went though the same thing..

Thought "ah screw it.. i'll keep it installed until Spore is released"
Trouble is, I can't get the dam downoad manager to install.

Installed Vista SP1 and the EADM installed fine..
launched it and noticed that before downloading the creature creator.. it alread said "play"

Uninstalled the trial, then EADM let me download the full version..
et voila

had trouble running the trial version through EADM..
no idea if I would with this too.. just launched the binary through exporer instead

im the same, downloaded trial worked fine, when i paid for it though it downloaded and when i ran it all i got was that, this is the trial version and closes, so with EADM installed it doesnt even let play the trial never mind the thing I JUST PAID FOR!

Customer service are not telling me anything I haven't found on various sites already; the same things they seem to have told everyone else with this issue- the same things which still are not working.

OK I have a solution for you. I had same problem with EA link. Grey start button and I can`t download Crysis or Hellgate London ....

But then I had an idea.

Go to the Us Store Support, or Euro Store Support website.
Click on View recent order history and purchase details.

And there will be "Download now with EA manager" button... after you click on this link "EA link" will open and tradadaaaa now I`m downloading Crysis! ..

Hope this will help you guys.. EA sucks !

never ever ! .. steam is stable and much more user friendly !

Thanks for the advice WarLegion84, I'll give that a go and see if it works.

I have just built my new rig yesterday, and was really stoked to be able to finally play this game, only to be met with the same bull**** message that I need to verify ownership for a product I just paid money for. Note it is not the verification I have a problem with, more that the verification doesn't bloody work.

This is the first time I've used EA's download service, and it is most certainly the last. You hear lots of talk in the industry about how EA want to start putting quality first and get rid of their image amongst gamers, then they introduce a service which does not work, and one which you have to pay an extra fee if you want to be able to continue downloading a game YOU JUST PAID ****ING MONEY FOR!! Please, EA, take your head out of your arses and download Bioshock from Steam. Then use you own ****ty download service and compare with the seamless experience you had previously.

I remember reading from one of the Crytek execs how disappointed he was at the amount of people who pirated Crysis upon release. As someone who works in the PC games industry myselfI do not support piracy, and I do feel his pain, but you can hardly blame the pirates when the electronic distribution offered by the publisher is so second rate.

yep, im in eadm is rubbish, ea is rubbish, there is just no support. preordered crysis warhead got the email saying it has been released but it will not download in the manager, the start is just sat there greyed out. rubbish rubbish rubbish

well. i had no prob downloading Crysis Warhead. but i get no install button? its at 0.00 remaining, but i cant do bugger all with it? Am I doing something wrong? cant see any info in help file, just tells me what options i should have but i have none of them? apart from Pause that is?

Just adding to the many people who have a greyed out download button for Warhead, have reinstalled EADM but no change, went to my order but that didn't work (I do have 2 copies now - no idea why); managed to accidently download Crysis again though

I had the same issue with Crysis when I fist bought it last year, wish I had remembered that before I bought Warhead on ****DM, who's for a refund and Steam?

I wish I'd waited and ordered from Steam. Why oh why oh why have I got two Crysis Warheads in my EADM (one saying 7.2GB and the other 6.6GB) and the start button is greyed out on both. I've tried logging out, reinstalling EADM, logging into view purchases etc and it just refuses to let me download the sodding game that I have paid for. Come on man....am I asking too much here?

(EDIT :: Just come online in the UK. Does anyone know why there are two versions in the EADM queue at all?)
