one is the single player, the other is the Mulitiplayer. I now have both working. In the end after downloading i was able to install the Mutiplayer one, which did not install as it should i might add, but working at the mo. this reinstalled the Download manager(which i had to shut down so it could do it, and after restating the Dm it then worked for the singleplayer part of it. Still not happy. I too wish i had gone with steam.

This is for The Sims life stories.

Error Msg "...please login to the EA Download Manager to verify your ownership...

Hey. The best thing to do is to REdownload EA Download Manager. Install it again (it will reinstall over the previous one) and the game will work again

Default Hi people. I may have a fix for everyone. I hope.

O.k here is the thing. I downloaded Crysis warhead and Crysis wars from EA games shop. installed warhead first played fine.... yay.... When it came to Crysis wars well, that's when the rage started... installed fine... went to play and nothing.. spoke to EA support. (like talking to a 5yo)
Then called a friend around (too heads better then one) Well we fixed it.

This is what we needed to be done. "release date verification"

I am to the understanding ALL games downloaded from EA's downloader need this to be run. And it's ment to run on install.

If it has not and you cant get it to work, try this.....

note this is for 'crysis wars'.. go into

C:\ProgramData\Electronic Arts\EADM\cache\{ 2270120453 }\crysis_warhead_na_mp\data\Bin32\82E0AFE3\9DE30FC C'

find the Crysis wars exe. file and run it.

It will dissapear and a "release date verification" window will appear and want to conect to net. Let it.
once finished a new exe. file will appear.

I still had to uninstall and reinstall game. but now it works.

I did the same to my EA downloaded '2142' it works as well now.

I hope this helps someone..

This fix is for all EA downloaded games.

You will be looking for the downloaded content.
In C:\ProgramData\Electronic Arts\EADM\cache

now look for the game you are haveing problem with.
Find the bin32 file, for the game in question.

And run the EXE. of that game.

You should get a "release date verification" window to open.

If so uninstall your game and reinstall it. You do not need to redownload the game or reinstall EA downloader manager.

Your game should now work.

  1. Go to the Us Store Support, or Euro Store Support website.
  2. Click on View recent order history and purchase details.
And there will be "Download now with EA manager" button... after you click on this link "EA link" will open and tradadaaaa now I`m downloading Crysis! ..

Hope this will help you guys.. EA sucks !

never ever ! .. steam is stable and much more user friendly !

This worked for me too. I've been searching for a work-around to the Greyed-out/unclickable Download button for a week and a half now, and this is the only method that worked for me.
WarLegion is the only person who's posted it on the entire web, so thanks man. You're my hero!

Reinstalling the EA download manager worked for me with BF2142...
However, I spent good part of my week-end trying to fix this and it is extremely disapointig that problems like this happens...but most of all, that customers have to be the ones testing and finding solutions... Huge disapointment from EA and definitely the last game I ever buy from them.... Just make sure things work fine before putting them online!

I'm glad other people are having problems too, maybe someone will actually take some notice of this instead of assuming we've either stolen the game or just can't work a computer. I emailed EA about four times about the download manager not working - it works for a few weeks, and then just stops. Originally I didn't know that reinstalling it would work. The help I got was completely pointless, having to send in dxdiag files, locate certain files and delete them ( which I couldn't find...) and they even asked me to check whether I had installed it on more than three machines. I think I would know if I had :P just a little bit patronising.
Reinstalling isn't working now, so I'm pretty much giving up, waste of money, and the product I've paid for hasn't been provided!

Despressing one and all . . . I've been trying to get a paid for download of BF2 to play for about three weeks now and keep getting the #*%$ing 'game cannot start please log in to EADM to verify ownership message'. I am a reasonable guy and have spent some time trying to srt this but it stikes me that the whole situation is a complete cluster#*%$ on EA's part. I'm still pursuing this but hope is fading fast that it'll ever work.

I have allready posted a fix. And on 22 computers that have had the problems ALL have been fixed by my posted instructions. Its not that hard to fix. It's all to do with "release date verification"

Thats exactly what has happened to me, I get a long string of questions asking for one thing at a time (screenshot, then dxdiag, etc...) and then some link to a help page about a completely irrelevant game. The amount of help is basically the same as if they had an automated response system, and difficult parts of the problem are ignored and nobody gets anywhere...

OH YE GODS!!!
Another load of lalalalae from another massive company who clearly do not give a flying f*** with bells on about their customers! It makes me sick!
I am having this problem with NFS Carbon. Bought, downloaded, installed, EADM won't let me play it, apparently I am not logged in despite the fact that I am watching EADM downloading as I speak.

1Player: I have tried to follow your instructions, but unfortunately I can only get as far as: "C:\ProgramData\Electronic Arts\EADM\cache\{ 2285448180 }", there are no folders further than that.
I have also tried re-installing the download manager, to no avail.

Why does EA not care that their download manager is not compatible with their games?!? Why are they turning a completely blind eye to this problem? Why do they repeatedly say the same rubbish to every one of us? Why have we not had a decent response from EA?

Everyone, please spam customer support until we get some answers!! I WILL NOT SIT BACK.

OK, like many of you I have had this issue for ages now and last night i nearly gave up hope of playing this game ever again! But, by pure fluke, i did something that seemed to trigger it to work. I'll run through everything I did but I can't identify which one of these bits trigged it.

1) if your on vista - right click on the EA download manager and set it to run on XP mode. When you fire the game up you'll now get 2 annouying messages about account verification. One from the EA download manager and now another one will appear from OS it's self - displaying exactly the same message. Log into the downloader manager again and try and run the game. Now - when ever i try to run the game from the download manager - nothing happens. It's only when i run it from the start menu that messages seem to appear.

2) after you have done the above, run the game from the download manager AND try running from the start menu. One will bounce back that annouying message that seems to have plagued a few of us recently.

NOW FOR THE BIT THAT SEEMED TO TRIGGER IT!

3) Whilst it's still trying to run one of the games you attempted to load, RIGHT CLICK on the EA download manager icon situated in the bottom rght of the screen (notification area I believe the technical term is) THEN select settings then click on 'Browse'. the 'browse for folder' box appeared and I clicked on cache. Straight after this, the game trying to run switched to the walker load up screen. It did seem a bit jerky at first so i let it run all the way through and then restarted the game. it loaded straight away with out any error messages.

I'm not sure why - whether there is a broken link or it's 'forgotten' where it needs to look but I promise you - this sorted it out and i haven't had an issue since. I hope this works for you. Please let me know.

Default lalalala this!

I actually bought the physical copy of the game Spore. I went through the WHOLE 45 minute download process only to find out that I have to go through EA Download manager to even PLAY my game. Now, something that used to only take two steps (downloading and launching the game to play) has a million effing steps. I bought the game so I could play it now, not after registering it, not after activating it, not after creating an account, logging in, and clicking on multiple not helpful links. NOW!!! EA needs to get their act together. Either create a system that works, or go back to old school version of downloading games. I understand that companies are trying to "go green" but if your system isn't working, fix it for lalalala it!
And somebody answer my damn customer service question!

Well I am surprised. If you had bought the game separately without the EA Download store you would be saving a let of headaches!
And what problem are you having exactly?

Try reinstalling EA downlaoder manager with the latest version, if it don't work again try downlaoding the older version that comes together with the Crysis game in the CD itself.

Hope this helps.
