If you want proof it's real, (which everyone should know it is by now!) then go to:

www.codemasters.co.uk/index.php

click on the 'find games' pull down menu and click on 'Ashes Cricket 2009'

Its a real shame EA don't make a cricket game because they would get so much more sales due to the domestic element. I always enjoyed winning with Warwickshire, a feeling i don't get in real life.

Yes,
i liked EA's cricket alot more than Codies Cricket, simply because of the Domestic Element.
(As well as the fact that EA have licensed teams/players/tournaments etc...)

It's releasing in Australia on July 18th so I would guess it's that sort of date worldwide.

It has only got licensing for The Ashes. When it comes to other tournament formats such as Twenty20 World Cup, they will be unofficial and therefore may differ to the real World T20. The only licensing the game has is the ECB (making England's player names, likenesses and kit offical), Cricket Australia (making Australia's player names, likenesses and kit official) and the MCC (Marylebone Cricket Club, the world's most famous cricket club and owner of the Ashes urn). It's a shame that this is the only licensing but the Ashes should be a brilliant game mode.

To read more on this game I'd recommend you go to CricketGaming.net and take a look at the exclusive interviews with the developers of the game.

Good,
Codemasters have stated that there will be a character edit mode, where you can edit player names etc. Which will make the game more playable IMO.

I bet it will be just the same as the Brian Lara games, an boy were they shocking, i could hit a six at will, playing test matches and being on 200 after 15 overs ? thats not realistic is it.

Yes, the Brian Lara/Ricky Ponting games were absolutely shocking.
However, Codies have said that they have got a new engine, and are working on making it more of a simulator than an arcade styles game.
Gotta take their word for it at the moment.

Yeah, they "started from scratch." But after seeing a trailer/gameplay video they have released, I personally don't think the bowling actions and batting actions are all that realistic, they look a bit robotic!

UK and AU have PAL format cd's.
Canada are a cricket playing nation, i would think that they would have it.
Doesn't Canada use NTSC?

Check this out, Blazing:

Playtest Review/Preview(Review Links, Updated in First Post) - PlanetCricket Forums

Some of our members have playtested it and the general opinion is that it will be better than BLIC '99, which is widely regarded as the best cricket game to be released so far. EA Cricket can go Castlemaine XXXX itself.

Edit: It's definitely coming on PC. Old friend play.com has it at £24.99.

A demo for The Ashes 2009 has been released on the Xbox Live Marketplace.
Not sure about PSN, though, but it is quite possible that there is a demo there, too.
