I'm not sure as to when it's coming out or wether it is currently in development but just wanted to put forth a few ideas. Starting with game modes:
- Domestic - something simular to FIFA's manager mode and, if posssible, all domestic leagues. Also, something like FIFA's be a pro, select a domestic player get called up for international matches etc. - Tournaments - ICC World Cup/ Champions trophy IPL & ICL. - International - Same as previous games. - Challenge mode. Other things such as manual apealing create a team, kits etc. Improved create a player. VAST improvement in graphics and player models. Looking at FIFA 09 it is obvious that EA can definately make a good cricket game if they tried and with more money coming into cricket hopefully they will. |

yea, pretty much all this has been covered one way or another, but i'll play..
I definitely agree with all of this. -What i want to see i the Be A Pro, like in Fifa09. That is my favourite feature easily. -The character creation needs to be attended to (Make like Fifa09) -In Be a Pro, you have lalalala gear to start with and when your career progresses you can get sponsored by different companies (eg; Gunn & Moore, Kookaburra, Slazenger, Gray Nicholls etc.). -Different Bowling/Batting/Throwing Styles (which are usable in character creation). -All licenses for players, leagues, cups etc. -Stat building/recording for your players (created/original) records etc. -Realistic AI -A wider shot selection. -Injuries (forcing players to retire injured, or force them out of match). -An option to play test matches in a cap or hat, opposed to helmet (stat boost? at expense of exposing self to possible injury). Can't think of anything else right now, But Be a Pro is a must.

And as for fielding. Make it an option also. I had an idea for fielding. ![]() It would be tricky because of the speed of the ball, but if you ran your player to the spot/catching zone and he caught the ball. Simple. And say if the ball was travelling fast, you could use a 'diving catch' button. To pull off one of those spectacular catches. You could use a variation of this when chasing a ball on the ground also. Diving to save boundaries. Its just an idea. Only problem is that the matches would take a long time if you weren't simulating. Cos you'd be in the field alot of the time. But still, i think this is a good idea.

In Peter Moore's latest blog he said that there is no news on cricket or rugby games! Disappointing!

Well, on the bright side.. it was one of the more 'popular questions' as he stated.
The f***ed up thing is that EA have the rights to the cricket/rugby games, and Codemasters (brian lara) do not. If EA is too halfarsed to make a real cricket game, then why not hand the rights over to Codemasters... I dunno... I'd really like to see EA make one mind you.

Small pieces of information on EA Sports' next cricket game has appeared on 2 websites over the weekend.
The New Zealand gaming shopping website GamePlanet Store/Mighty Ape claims that Cricket 09 will be released in NZ on the 8th May 2009 and will be called EA Sports ICC Cricket 09: 20/20 World Cup. This suggests it will have either a full ICC licence or an ICC licence for the 20:20 World Cup which takes place later this year in England. ![]() The Australian governments film and game classification department has also added Cricket 09 to its list of games. In order to classify the game a beta version must have been played by the Australian censors and the game has been classified General. The listing also shows the development country as Canada. This could mean the game is again being developed by HB Studios in Nova Scotia in Canada. Their website currently states - "...6 other projects are in development". |

We always read the forums and feedback what you have to say and what you'd like to see in any future cricket titles.
![]() It is I'm afraid.

I feel for the mods, must be tired of having to answer the same questions time and again. Although in saying that I do think there's something in the pipeline in EA and either the mods know and aren't telling us, or the mods themselves haven;t been told yet.
__________________________________________________ _______________________ IMO EA don't do enough to satisfy their customers at all. Customer service is poor at best and I've personally found Codemasters faster and more effective (For example a hear of my manuals were thrown out and I lost game codes for both BLIC05 and Cricket 2002. I wrote e-mails to both companies but I got contrasting answers. The reply I recieved from Codemasters 2 hours later was sympthetic to my situation and said once I had proof it was a genuine, which i did and I got BLIC running again. EA on the other hand sent me a reply a week later bluntly saying that I'd have to contact a certain number and pay to get the code back. After locating the number in another EA game manual I took one look at the number, one at the charge and decided it wasn't worth it) The difference between the two companies is that while EA hold a monopoly over the games industry (A monopoly that's wiped out a number of precious game companies already) Codemasters have to fight tooth and nail to keep the profits rolling in, and that tooth and nail includes customer feedback and inclusion of customer ideas. I know that Mods do include ideas in their reports and are badly caught in the middle, but these ideas are rarely entertained and never realized. That's my two cents anyway but although not blood curdling, EA are dissapointing and frustrating at best

Its weird that MightyApe have a cricket game be EA that you can pre-order.
Anything to say about this Mods? Or is this a mistake?

As has been said before, a new Cricket title hasn't been announced. Anything on the internet is speculation.
