Default Game Wont Start - Error 10000:78003

Hi, I'm hoping someone can enlighten me as to why I'm getting the following error message when I try to load C&C3 from my desktop.

"Error 10000:78003 Unfortunately there seems to be a problem with your account entitlement. This could be a system error or an issue specific to your account. Please try again later and then contact customer support if still unresolved"

I downloaded the game direct from the EA Store and have all the relevant accounts set-up. I have searched the net and can't find any obvious solutions/fixes. PLEASE HELP!! I have paid for this and now can't play the damn thing!!

http://support.ea.com - Contact tech support for help with account-related issues.

It could be that you do not have an administrator account or full administrator privileges (in the case of Vista) on your computer.

Hmmm. not 100% sure what you mean. I am running Vista but am logged in as the administrator all the time plus this doesn't affect me running any other games (Crysis, Unreal T3 etc). It seems to me to be some kind of conflict with my EA account. As usual, they are taking absolutely ages to get back to my support enquiry! I can understand the odd issue with hardware conlicting but to not even be able to load the game because of something like this is a joke!

I'm having the same problem with FIFA Manager 08. Something is wrong with EA's account managment. If you solve your problem, please post how you did it.

I'm having the same problem with NBA Live 2008. I sent them an email and got some generic response which doesn't help me at all.

here is what they told me:

Thank you for contacting Electronic Arts.

There was an address verification failure with the billing information added in the order, as a result it was cancelled when the charge was attempted. You should receive a cancellation notice about the situation, if a transaction shows it is just the pre-authorization. I apologize for any disappointment or inconvenience that this causes you but either a new order will need to be placed or you can check with a local retail shop. If you have any further questions or concerns please reply to this email or visit our extensive knowledge base online at http://support.ea.com.

Hope this helps...I have not received a cancellation notice as of yet.

Hi, Just thought I'd share the response I got from EA Support relating to the error message i posted at the beggining of this thread:

" Thank you for writing to EA.com account services.

I have manually registered your EA account " ******* " for concerned game.Please login using your account and password and you will be able to access the game.

If there is anything else I can help you with please let me know. "

This seems to have resolved the original issue but now when I go to load the game through EA Download Manager it is coming up with another error!!! It states the following:

" No disc inserted.

Please insert the original "Command and Conquer 3" CD/DVD. "

I just can't beleive this crap! I have downloaded this software legitimately from the official EA site, piad my money and this.!!! I KNOW THERE'S NO DVD IN THE DRIVE CAUSE I DOWNLOADED THE DAMN SOFTWARE THROUGH YOUR SITE!!

Has anyone else had this issue? I've read about some conflicts with emulation sofware etc but I don't have anything like this (alcohol etc) on my pc.

Yes, it's a common issue - I haven't had it so I don't know how to fix it though.

I am also having this problem (Error10000:78003). My set-up is fairly ordinary, with one exception: My "main" disk drive has drive letter K: Anybody else having the same experience?

yea i have exactly the same error messege, for a couple of days it didnt show up in my bank that i had paid, but the payment has now gone through. so therefore i have paid for the game but im still not autherised to play it? basically EA has got some giant scheme to screw honest customers out of money. I could have easily just gone on a torrent site and downloaded it illegally, but i choose to pay and now they have raped my loyalty.

I'm sorry to hear you are having this problem, the best thing to do first is to contact the support team so they can look into it for you, you can contact them by clicking the CONTACT US tab at the Support Center. Hopefully once they know you have a problem they can try and solve it for you.

perhaps when the game was manually registered, it was registered as a dvd retail version and not the download version?
If i didnt have cnc3 yet already and wanted to get kanes wrath as well, i'd hold out for it to come out and get it together in a shop, when expansions come out these days, they are usually almost as much as a new game on their own, and are only cheaper if you want to buy the base game along with it.

Greetings , I to am having this same exact issue with the Error: 10000:78003 on my BF 2142 game and am currently going through EA's tech support to resolve this. It's been 3 days now since I last heard anything from the tech assisting with this.

Has anyone figured out a fix for this yet? I know it's not a billing issue , my bank confirmed the payment.

I too am having the error 10000:78003 problem. i dont get this, we are playing offline games why are we having account entitlement problems. i have been playing sims for years and this is the first time this has every happened. yes i have vista, but i played my sim games perfectly until sims uploaded that simstore download. that is when the errors started happening. i have complained to ea but they only read the first two lines of the letters. I am so mad at ea i am almost ready to boycott them. first they get rid of online sims, now they are destroying offline sims. dam.

I get this error for the sims 2 too...and I'm on vista
I had no problem with it until today (almost a month after i bought the game). I tried to start the game up and suddenly it told me I hadn't activated the account! so I "activated" the account...logged in and BOOM it hits me with this error.

So annoyed. I KNOW the payment went through because it was fine for a month AND took the money out of my account!

Awaiting a reply from Customer support right now...

Default Definitely Not Alone...

Well, I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only person who's been having issues with the downloaded games. I bought Crysis from EA online a few months ago. It worked just fine for about a month, and then I got the the 10000:78003 error message. And, as of today, there is nothing I can do to make it launch.
